Technically the Persona franchise isn't really SMT. However, Persona 4 is probably the closest to being the most accessible SMT-ish related game out there right now (UNLESS you have access to Strange Journey on the DS which is actually closer to SMT than Persona). Though, for a real SMT title, if anyone has access to SMT Nocturne, I highly recommend that instead (considering how the protagonist from Nocturne is shown in the teaser).
Based strictly on the teaser though, doesn't look like Persona (or Devil Summoner/ Digital Devil Saga) will be included in this title. However, it is STILL a teaser so who knows?

Well, yeah, strictly speaking Persona 4 isn't a Shin Megami Tensei title (even though it carries the franchise name) but it's a lot easier to recommend Persona 4, which you can still find in plenty of locations being it's a PS2 game and recently got an updated rerelease on the Vita, to someone who's never played a SMT game as opposed to recommending PS2 games that are growing harder to obtain and are pretty pricey.
Besides it's not like there's THAT much of a difference between the Persona games and the main SMT titles really.

Was expecting a SMT to crop up sooner or later. Maybe now they can stop beating around the bush and announce Persona 5 for the Wii U.
The Fire Emblem part of this alone makes me happy. I'm just worried about localization.
