Before I turn in I better get this up for those who will be awake when this airs. Yes, it's yet another tie-in to Z (I think), this time featuring Luffy's backstory…again!

Title: ''Episode of Luffy: Adventure on Hand Island''
New Characters: Diego, Regis (not the one you're probably thinking of), and Commodore Birch (two-faced snake hand-puppet wacko)
Animation Director: Hiroshi Shimizu (new, but did do some work on the old 90s OVA)
Time: 7:00AM EST

I think it'll be streamed through the usual channel, if keyhole is up to snuff. If not I'm sure it won't be too long before it goes up online.

Unfortunately, unlike Episode of Nami because of daylight savings time I won't beable to watch this. I work until 6:30 am and have to drive 45 minutes from my job. Buuuut I'm not too bummed because I got Funi's Season Four set yesterday.

Its feel like luffy's flashback was less good compare to the orginal luffy's flashback in the anime the voices the style the hook.

I enjoy these commercials to be honest. Although there's too many of them, I admit.

This is good, but I think they should have just split this up into 4 or 5 regular episodes of filler to give the anime more distance from the manga to fix some of the pacing issues.

Two reasons why they didn't do that though:

1. Additional promotion for the movie (as if it needs it).

2. The only way they could ever show the Luffy scar scene would be by showing it in the 9pm time slot.

lol at fake kizaru and zoro being left behind

but that fight was way too goofy. Luffy having to pull out Elephant Gattling felt too overkill, though it was dumber how none of his previous attacks worked.

They didn't even reanimate some stuff in the ending.

Yeah, this seemed meh. There were some funny parts at points(like the end Zoro being left behind and the Kizaru statue). The flashbacks were cool, I guess and some of the attacks nicely animated, particularly Coby's little action parts(and really little) were nice and the whole base collapsing, plus the action parts in the end, but it just kinda felt like a 2-hour long filler episode and not even a particularly good one. Maybe it'll be better subbed(to get what is actually being said, but it seemed fairly self-explanitory).

the global special episode was for me less enjoyable than the first one (ep of nami), mostly because of the filler that was not interesting
the flashback was well animated like the sea king that attack luffy, but there are censure (more than in the original episode) here and there (for exemple, no blood for shanks's arm cutted)

Just watched it, fun special with an OP-standard emotional plot and good animation/directing.
Luffy and Sanji breaking into that Marine base gave me strong G8 vibes. And it was funny how they all forgot about Zoro eventually and then just left him there alone. Haha.
