If the Cyandians are really from the Blue Seas, how come they have the little wings on their back like the Skypeians?
I got a question…
-
-
ill answer like oda probably would.
Its the Grand Line.
and to answer my way.
there are devil fruits, an island in the sky, giant and strange animals, zoro can cut with air, mihawk can cut ships in half that are bigger then his sword without a devil fruit, and your wondering why people from the blue sea have wings…..
-
Aren't the Cyandians from Jaya which is in the Grandline not the Blue sea?
And maybe the clouds in Skypiea morphed with the people and shaped it into wings, so it looks like they have wings.
-
the grand line is also a blue sea its just not called something blue.
-
Wait, my bad I thought you said East Blue instead of Blue Sea, sry I'm just tired today
-
Maybe it was the Cyandians that brought the wings to Skypiea.
-
Because it looks cool, and fits people from the skies to have wings (like angels).
-
Wait a second, are those wingy things supposed to be real wings? I actually always thought that they are just some sort of Skypiea fashion style. I mean if it would be real wings how come nobody used them for flying?
-
i don't think it's a fashion, but i also don't think it's real wings either. it's just some stuff that grows out of their backs and looks like wings.
which brings out the irony: what IF the cyandians and skypieans used to be one single race? i'm talking about way before norland and calgara time. remember we still have the "lost history" period of time, which spans a couple hundred years. no history is being recorded during this time, so there's a possibility that lots of shit were going on during this period of time, and one of them is probably how the cyandians and skypieans came about.
-
e1n, are you suggesting that the island has changed locations before? The idea of the island going up and coming back down every few centuries is kind of funny! Like the world's largest, most unpredictible elevator.
PS: when in doubt, blame it on retcon!
-
I always thought the wings were an accessory too. But who knows, someone should ask Oda that. But he would probably give some inconclusive smartass answer anyway.
Or maybe not. You never know.

i'm suggesting that part of the island being knocked up to skypiea by the upstream might not be the first time something like that has happened.
think about it. a long long time ago, part of the island got knocked up by the upstream, with a few of its inhabitants. not too long after, the island fell back down, leaving some of its inhabitants up in skypiea. they couldn't figure out how to go back down safely, so they decided to stay up there in the clouds and they invent the dials.
time passed, one generation onto another, and no history is being recorded. this event was forgotten, and the skypiean forgot that they were originally from the bluesea.
either that, or the cyandians had some big war that led to some of them leaving for skypiea and the rest staying in jaya.

Hot damn. Fan speculation that works!

I think they simply adapted to their new environment. Although 400 years(?) is too short for any form of evolution, but then again, maybe the nutrients in the sky sea boosted their evolution like they did to the plants and animals on Vearth…I dunno.
