This thread is dedicated to an awesome video series created by the folks over at Screwattack!

It's like this, DEATH BATTLE! places characters from your favorite comics, movies, tv shows, anime, cartoons, and video games then talks about their stats and history. Then they finally have them face off in a no-holds barred slugfest to the death!

It should be noted that one of the most talked about topics of all time (one that's been debated for YEARS) has now come to fruition in the form of a DEATH BATTLE episode and is now up on the site, GOKU VS SUPERMAN!!!

Pretty fun series. My favorite is probably Link vs Cloud so far (though I'm just about to watch Goku vs Superman, so we'll see if that stays true). I hope they stick mostly with the 3D animated fights in the future, though the sprite-based ones are still good.

They were 3 weeks late and were running around with their heads cut off. Then I'm presented a crappy example of Goku's character. I can accept him losing against sup's, but not when they market him as a clown and not genuinely stick with his character. Needless to say I was more annoyed with how the fight was presented rather than the victor.

Goku's character was based on the TFS abridged version. Surely if you are a DBZ fan you would have heard of TFS by now…

Well in case you don't know, the battle itself was for entertainment purposes only. It should not be taken too damn seriously since it was just made for fun and besides, if I recall, didn't some villains like Babadi in DBZ make fun of Goku's SSJ hairstyles as well?

It's just false advertising to be honest. As I said, it wouldn't be so ridiculous if

A) Goku didn't try to read supermans mind in the middle of a battle, seriously, not once in any circumstance has goku ever done that, because it's retarded. He's a fighting genuis and they throw that out the window?

B) Goku deals with life energy, he senses it, he manipulates it for crying out loud, and you're telling me, someone with so much experience of analyzing power levels didn't realize the increase in power until he threw him into the sun?

Kind of destroys all credibility.

Technically, I suppose. Make no mistake their evidence/findings was still based off the original though.

So unless Goku would act out of character, from both versions, and had taken advantage of the Kryptonite in the same way that Supes was out of character for directly causing the death of millions, Supes still would have won.

My impression was if superman didn't sundip he would have lost but I'm not here to start a fight about the winner, just the execution that seems like a cop out to declare a winner

Love death battles. Boomstick is hilarious lol.

I for one liked the Superman VS Goku fight I feel it was completely legitimate. I don't base this off of the fight itself but the facts before and after the fight.

I also liked Dr.Wiley VS Dr.Eggman, Link VS Cloud, Beiber VS Rebecca, Spidey VS Bats, and Peach VS Zelda.

Id prefer for those death battles to stay between game characters, because he dont seem to be able to judge manga/anime characters correctly and I can`t blame him either, because it would require to reread manga/anime to properly analize them.

Well even though that might make it easier for them, that would be quite boring don't you think?

Anyways, I would love to see Hercule (aka Mr. Satan) vs Dan Hibiki or Lina Inverse vs Doctor Strange, or maybe even Iron fist vs Liu Kang!

OK, after coming home from work, I have finally watched the fight and I must say….

! I. FUCKING. KNEW that Shao Kahn was gonna win that fight from the damn start. I mean come on, the outcome was obvious! :getlost:
! I still, however, enjoyed the fight regardless. Although I wished they had shown more of Final Bison's skills to be honest.

Yeah, I think it looks interesting too. But to be honest, I thought Joe Musashi from Shinobi would have been a more fitting opponent for Ryu Hayabusa than Strider. Then again, that would've made it more like a mirror match I suppose. lol

sigh Ryu Hayabusa is the hero and protagonist of the famous Ninja Gaiden adventure game series and a fighter from the Dead or Alive fighting game series. Strider Hiryu is the hero and protagonist of the classic Strider adventure game series and a fighter from the Marvel vs Capcom fighting game series.

But still you could've just looked them up to find out more about them, like some gameplay videos, wiki, or whatever.

I'm just saying. Not trying to be mean or anything. I'm just a little surprised since those two are quite common knowledge in the gaming world, especially Ryu Hayabusa.

Btw, the creators of death battle also at one time thought it would be a good idea to set Luffy up against Poepye, but there were plenty of fans who are against it (including me).

Luffy and Popeye is a bad much up either way because of the universes they are in Popeye is a cartoon character and shows like Popeye and Loony Toons break the boundary of logic all the time an example in one of the comments in the FB post was Popeye punching through a mountain. whereas luffy is from a universe that logic isn't broken without reasonable cause or logical explanation.

Nope. One Piece is the most succesful manga of all time, but Naruto doesn't hold the second place in sales, not now ~~or ever~~.

edit : my bad. It did have the second place for the year 2011. Last year it was Kuroko's Basket though.

You can define succesful in different ways. Basket may surpass Naruto in manga sales but if you consider the popularity, the revenue of merchandise, anime, video games etc. Naruto is (sadly) far superior.
