So this thread is to basically list any kinds of Life Hacks you like, made yourself or just find interesting.
The things you list don't have to generally be JUST life hacks, they could be hacks in any other way like games, devices etc. if you like.
For those that don't know what 'Life Hacks' are, the Urban Dictionary definition is: a tool or technique that makes a aspect of your life easier or more efficient.
Here are a few of my own that I either found myself or learned from other people such as Professor Google.
- How to download YouTube videos:
! Want to download a video you REALLY like from YouTube (or in this case, any other video hosting website such as DailyMotion, Veoh, Google Video and many more I haven't even tried) this is how
! Strep 1: Find a video you want to download, eg
! Step 2: Vey simple, just add a 'want' before the youtube part, like this:
! Strep 3: You will need Java for this to work. There will be a Pop Up asking if you want to Run this page or not, just click Run and press the 'Want to download' button.
! Step 4: The pop up will appear again, press Run again and wait for the site to load.
! Step 5: Once completely loaded, you will have the option to choose what format you want to download this video, so either:
-MP3 audio only file
-3GP for mobile phones 320x240
-FLV Standard Quality 320x240
-FLV Standard Quality 640x360
-FLV High Quality 854x480
-MP4 Medium Quality 640x360
-MP4 HD Quality 1280x720
-MP4 Full HD Quality 1920x1080
-MP4 Full HD Quality 2048x1536
-WebM =MKV Standard Quality 480x360
-WebM =MKV Medium Quality 640x480
-WebM =MKV HD Quality 1280x720
! NOTE: depending on the video itself, not ALL these option will be available.
! Step 6: Click the format you like, press Run again and choose the name of your file and where to save it. (If it's a MP4 file, you have to right-click and select Save as…)
! You can also just go on the website http://www.wantyoutube.com/ and paste your link in the bar like that. If you didn't understand these instructions, scroll down on the website and it will explain it to you with screenshots.
- How to cheat on 'Spot the Difference' games
! Now I've never tried this myself, but I remember seeing this video of a guy claiming he can beat the 'Spot the Difference' games alot easier by just making his eyes meet in the middle, you know when you look like you're cross eyed. That way the picture would meet in the middle in your point of view and you could see things that are not the same… Don't know how legit this is, but I liked it cos it was a funny and clever idea
- How to read manga more efficiently without having to wait for each page to load
! This one I came up with by myself. If you are like me and want to read manga non-stop without always having to wait for your next page to load after you finish the previous one, and your internet is not the fastest at all times, you could try this trick.
All I do is, while I read one page, I click the scroll-er on my mouse, which then opens the next page in a new tab. Then after I finish the page I'm on, I click the scroll-er on the tab I'm on, which closes it and automatically goes to the next open tab, which would be the next page I opened before. Then I repeat the steps as long as I need to.
! NOTE: This trick does not work on EVERY Manga hosting site since some work differently, like instead of opening a new tab when you press the scroll-er, it loads the page on the tab you're on, but the ones I know it works on are MangaReader/MangaPanda, MangaStream, Batoto!, MangaEden and probably some more I can't think of. I don't think it works on MangaRuler or something, anyway, find out yourself by trying. Enjoy!
