2012 AP Awards Results, Celebration, and Sundry Other Things Thread

First of all, I'd like to thank everybody who participated in this on either side of the aisle and congratulate everybody who was nominated as well as the winners. The Awards were particularly close this year and I actually had to cast a tiebreaker in several categories, which is rare to begin with and probably happened more this year than all the other times I've done this combined.

My first reaction was huh?!
I know this isn't the objective measure of quality and its supposed to be fun but I can really think of movies and comics of 2012 way better than the Promise and Avengers. But oh well, the popular vote.
I mean, I think the Promise is really mediocre, officialized fan-fiction while Avengers is really closest at capturing the larger than life feel of a marvel comic book and translating it to film. However, both were mediocre IMO.

I admit I laughed at Robby's post. I understand the jab.

I may be a big Batman fan, but I'm not some blind worshiper to the franchise that I idly give high praise anything as long as its related to the cape crusader, hell I somewhat feel the same about Rises(though I like Rises a bit more).
A further example is that in previous threads I have expressed great distaste for Batman Returns, and even expressed that I considered Bat-comics highly revered in the fandom and critics alike like Dark Knight Returns and Year One as overrated. In fact, even Bat-films that I hold in high regard like Dark Knight I pointed out as overrated and flawed(its in the overrated movies thread in case anyone is wondering) Yeah I've defended the Nolan films from some of its detractors here and there in with regards to the quibbles people have with them. Oh well, to each his own.
