The fact that it was Rebecca Sugar's idea to do this gives me hope. I don't dislike Uncle Grandpa that much so I will remain cautioned.

Well, the "I was there, don't you remember" bit was cute and got a chuckle out of me. Color me cautiously optimistic.
-
I am looking forward to it too. But I've only seen 2 or 3 Uncle Grandpa shorts, and wasn't a fan. I didn't hate it and can apperciate it being there, but its not something I'd go out to watch. I'm just very curious of how this going to go down and if its gonna be cannon. I'm assuming no, but we'll see!
This is really funny actually. Also Screen shots show that the episode time-line wise takes place before Jailbreak, due to Garnet's old design.
-
I really hope this episode came out of UG's budget for the season and not Steven's.

Its a Steven Universe episode, airing as in the Steven Universe time slot, requested by the Steven Universe's show runner.
-
You know…
If the joke ends up being UG's actual repulsive appearance in the show being as bad his his hovered mugshot that's seen in most SU episodes... then I'm just gonna clap silently and then forget the episode ever existed.

I believe this picture describes to me on how exactly what it's like to be high.

Well I have a new phone wall paper.

Technically it's been confirm canon thanks to the writers on Twitter. (I'd wished I found the Tweet, but C'est la vie.) and from what I've gather around the inter-webs, it looks like Rebecca sugar may try to pull a DCAU on us but for CN characters. Could be good I hope. ;)

…Good Morning. ...

If the supportive cast of both shows don't get involved I say no sell.

Realistic Flying Tiger and Lion are seen together in one shot, so i wanna say there will be plenty support character interaction.
-
ive watched the 1st season of uncle grandpa an to be honest with you….
its not that bad show as everyone think!!!
ive become a huge fan of it!!!!
its true this show is weird and random but is better then teen titans go and sonic boom!!!
to sum it up, you can only watch 3-5 episode randomly and that all what you need to be ready for the crossover
so.... good morning!!
-
!
-
Wow that was amazing, it just fits so naturally.
-
well the crossover came and went. i thought it was good. what did you guys think?
Also:
! it seems that Steven wasn't the only Cartoon Network character he helped. i didn't get a good look at the list but he helped practically everyone from Ed, Edd n Eddy to the Swat Kats (yeah, you heard me). and it seem that Clarance might be next…
-
Pearl was the gem today.
RIP Pizza Steve
-
That was fucking awful. Uncle Grandpa is even worse than I remembered.
At least they murdered some of his supporting cast.
its not that bad show as everyone think!!!
No, it absolutely is that bad.
-
…..............................................
.................................................
I agree with pearl.
-
I enjoyed the episode a lot. And by the looks of things according to the episode summary for next week, those who didn't like this week's will enjoy some "Storytime with Greg"
-
That was uncomfortable
-
@Cyan:
Onion as Mr. Popo is just perfect.
-
Pearl is SUCH a double d
-
Glad that is over.
-
That was amazing I wanna watch it again.

I thought the crossover was better than expected, and it wasn't canon. They had a lot of fun with this episode from the looks of it. :)
-
Yes, Garnet. I too want this episode to be over now.
I side with Pearl in this case but they pusjed her reactions to insanity levels. Provably the writers thinking they're being clever by mocking the people who wouldn't like this beforehand, ir something. I've never enjoyed spite based humor. -
Just know it was a headcannon that destroyed the Lars/Sadie ship.

Ehh, the bits with Uncle Grandpa were pretty awful but I loved the gems' reaction to what was going on. Each one had at least one line that I laughed at.
-
Actually wasn't as bad as I was expecting. Didn't think Pearl was spite humor. The show literally has Ed Edd and Eddie story artists on it, so when Pearl pulls a double d, she's basically the exasperated double d here.
There was a level of slapstick that I wouldn't mind seeing a little more of in the show (sans grandpa). Hope kids liked it anyway
-
-
this was the only thing good about it.
pearl should have eaten uncle grandpa. I woulda liked that. -
I thought it was a fun episode, it also helps that I love crossovers too (Shame it's considered 'non-canon, UG is the only character who could connect with every CN original. Really wish they'd stuck with that and make). I loved how both casts got to interact with each other, especially with Mr. Gus showing off his gemsona and Pearl freaking out a lot.
Now come on guys, remember the lesson after 'Joy Ride', Steven is still a kid and should have some fun. With all the heavy stuff that has happened in the past episodes, some goofy silliness shouldn't hurt especially for one episode. Besides lots of kids gushed to see them together, think of this as a breather with a nice message at the end.Yes, Garnet. I too want this episode to be over now.
I side with Pearl in this case but they pushed her reactions to insanity levels. Provably the writers thinking they're being clever by mocking the people who wouldn't like this beforehand, ir something. I've never enjoyed spite based humor.Nah, this was far from spiteful, more like a subtle message that needed to be said. If you hadn't noticed Uncle Grandpa gets a lot of flak just for existing, and the hatred got amped up and when SU fans caught wind of the crossover (If you don't believe me check the Uncle Grandpa tag on tumblr). Like a day or so before the crossover, I see posts spreading lies about how the show is fatphobic (despite the first episode of him helping a kid learn to appreciate his body), transphobic/transmisogynist, and all that garbage. Just to spread more vitriol towards the show. It's kinda sad. Rebecca wanted to do this crossover, is friends with the UG creator and they get harassed for having some fun.
I understand Uncle Grandpa isn't everyone's cup of tea, but it doesn't deserve constant hate especially with fans who do appreciate the show.
"Look with your eyes unclouded by hate" isn't just for UG haters but for everyone. -
Its literally the dumbest show they're airing right now that I know of. Crossover with almost any of their other properties would have been better.
-
Am I the only one that thought this episode was FAIRLY clever? Yeah there was a whole ton of stupidness, but at the same time I think it was handled fairly well. I'm pretty sure Sugar knew exactly what she was doing by proposing such…a ridiculous setup by having the entire episode be remarkably self aware. In fact, I think she knew exactly how the fanbase would react and created such a ridiculous episode out of sheer April 1st silliness...but at the same time, it was a remarkably well thought out. It's kinda hard to explain...but I felt there was something fairly profound behind the overall ridiculousness of it all (not on the Uncle Grandpa side but more of the idea of utilizing Uncle Grandpa as a means of eliciting a particular response from the fanbase).

@Cyan:
problaly Pizza Steve's biggest mistake…and apparently his last.

i though it was clever.

That would actually go to Teen Titans Go!, you know the show that CN is touting as 'Your New Favorite Show' with bastardized versions of some folk's favorite teen heroes with episodes such as 'who can say waffles the longest'. Uncle Grandpa may be a stupid, silly show but at least it has effort and the main character is a well-meaning entity who genuinely wants to help kids, show them a good time, and teach them a lesson compared to TTG! with the main characters being idiots and jerks who are difficult to root for.
But whatever, different strokes for different folks.
-
Uncle Grandpa confuses being random with being humorous. That's my biggest complaint.
And the bits of the episode that featured the gems were great, but whenever Uncle Grandpa was on screen it just felt like an Uncle Grandpa episode, which I'm not a fan of. Some of the humor was clever, though, I'll give it that.

I think it's the lesson that UG was conveying at the end of the episode about not being afraid of being weird that got me really liking it. UG may be silly and stupid, but it gives out pretty good messages
That and Pearl was just gold

hold me

That show is actually a lot of fun, once you get past it not being the old show.
Its not the old show or Young Justice, but its not trying to be.

Ooooh.

ooh. steven's dad used to be so pretty. O.O
Shuhan, I love weird. I did not like UG. :S

Ooooh.
It has its moments, I'll admit that even Uncle Grandpa has some too, but TTG cast is so viciously unlikeable. Robin is a straight up asshole, caring little for his teammates safety or wellbeing, all in the name of manic comedy.
I don't agree with the aforementioned tumblr reaction either, then again I generally don't agree with how they deal with things. For me UG is something I don't like, so I ignore it and don't watch it. Having it invade a show I do enjoy makes it much harder to ignore, which irritates me. I'd mind it less if other shows got the same treatment. Adventure Time, Regular Show and Gumball would all handle the crossover smoother. Clarence is a lot more grounded tgan any of them and it'd be jarring there too.
I also don't get how "Rebecca wanted it" makes it any less annoying to have such a jarring shift in styles (visual and storytelling ) and the inherent stupidity these characters bring with them.

coughs as he looks at the Lilo and Stitch tv show

???
You're going to have to elaborate on that. The only "crossover" I remember from Lilo and Stitch was Regis Philbin, and he was in the style of the show.
