Garp has fucking wrestling moves. Hell yeah!
One Piece: Kaizoku Musou 2 (PS3 and PSVita)

New gameplays
Law:
Smoker:
Perona:
Robin: -
Buggy and Crocodile confirmed as playable. Hype levels are through the roof. They were the only two characters on my wish list for this game. Everyone else is just icing on the cake
-
So do we have confirmation that any of the CP9, Arlong, Kreig, Wapol, Sentomaru, Mr.2, Mr.3, Hachi, Hannyabal, Minotauros, or the Lapahns will be in this at all?? It seems they are the only characters from the first game that haven't made an appearence.
also in terms of truly "important" characters, it seems the only ones that are really missing to have a "complete" game at this point are Ivankov, Shanks, Coby, Sengoku, Kuro, Mr.1, Vivi, Hody Jones, Ceaser, Vergo, Doflamingo, and Kinemon, am i right?
-
So, the crew goes to Punk Hazard, somehow wind up in Caesar's lab, and find some weird dials that release black smoke which makes them all "evil" like?
Sounds cool.
And for all you guys who were doubting Garp, prepare to get suplexed.
-
I put everything together into one video:
I am so hyped for this.
-
Looks like the enemies won't be severed in Law's room.
But he can switch their heads with bombs. lol
-
so we've seen only characters who are playable. With it having an original story line it does make me wonder about characters who are just bosses like cp9. I'm gonna be slightly annoyed if kuro or vivi arn't in this, i don't mind even if they just get a mini boss status rather than playable. Same goes for any fishman island character

Maybe is the power of Kurohige that is inside on that dials xD (sorry for my bad english :( )
Garp is a total win!

So.. for now.. no IG for us ;___; maybe will be release in a DLC.. D:

After all this new gameplay, I am so hyped. So many characters! It looks like so much fun. I wonder if the US will get the Luffy Z costume since its download only.
-
i dont mind with their choice to make fictional storyline as it will be easier for them to make more interesting campaigns. the first game was a little bit dull because they need to follow the storyline and it really limited them from making the game more interesting.
-
Well.
I just pre-ordered from Play-Asia. That trailer sold me. -
The "mode" update on the website is interesting. It basically points out that with the new fictional storyline, they are free to make it more "Musou" like and tactical. In other words, your own forces might betray you and third parties such as other pirate crews or zombie armies can barge in and attack. You can see some screenshots where the map includes red blue and yellow forces.

I totally agree on this point, I don't get why so much people is raging about the story being a what if ( well, i really know, it's because it doesn't follow the original story, but in my opinion this choice is better for a musou game ), I think that can make all the characters have the same spotlight and bring the opportunity of creating more musou-like stages instead of just controlling the Strawhats for most of the time.
Garp looks so awesome
-
Robin looks fun to play as again. But that video of her pretty much confirmed one of two things. 1.) No Pre-TS. or 2.) They just don't have enough moves for two versions of Robin to make her different enough. Have we seen anything confirming Chopper's other forms yet?
I'm kinda hoping the storyline is more like the DW7 'other' mode except with story bits. Giving certain segments to a particular character but the majority of it you can choose whoever. That was the problem with the campaign last time which made it so boring to replay.

I'm disappointed they kept Robin's completely useless "ball-clutch" special move.
I'm sure the developers thought it was funny and whatnot, but it's not practical at all in a huge crowd.
-
Robin's clutch move needs one thing to be a decent usable move: auto-target on the closest boss character.
That would solve most people's problems with it. I lost count to how many times I carefully pointed the move at whatever boss I'm fightin just to see it hit the random marine next to him.And god-damn it, now I want to play with Garp. Not to mention how destructive the rest of the marines look like.
Law also looks cool, we get to see his attack range area. Crocodile and Buggy also look awesome.
Too bad they didn't show Marco on this vid already. -
Quick question cause I don't feel like digging.
Are the retarded platforming parts gonna be in this one?
I am grudgingly getting through KM:1 right now… and I really really hate the QTE/platforming parts. It kills the fun.Perona as a character is a bit of a waste, but i'm all for diversity... especially in a musou game.
That trailer sold me. "What if" story line! All the characters! No signs of platforming!
It's like they decided to put their backs into it.

It doesn't look like there will be platforming, fortunately

They were already confirmed in a scan, so yeah, they're all playable

I'm guessing this game is going to disappoint many, in one way the 'What-if' scenario is pretty cool, but I think most fans are after consistency. Half ass attempts at tackling the current arcs, mixing pre/post-timeskip characters. Sure they might take away elements that didn't go down too well like the quick time events, but what are they adding to make the game more enjoyable?

More playable characters?
More levels?
More game modes? -
Also, it seems like the combo system has been improved and haki/style actions have been implemented, and i really, really hope the camera is better, that would be one more point.

Ok.
More playable characters.
More levels.
More game modes.
Improved gameplay. -
No Platforming.
And a Campaign that makes the most of all of the crew. Rather than just Luffy and Zoro
-
Okay I take what I said back, I guess that KM2 could be a big improvement, I shouldn't have assumed so much.
I just can't see how they can improve a game so much in the short development period, but I really hope they do!
-
I dont remember this place but this can be the NOAH?, in the video (1:05) i see a luffy with something in him mouth Oo
I think it's enel's arc, maxim.
-

You don't use it on a crowd. You use it on a boss and destroy them.
Not every move is meant for mobs.
Some characters are great at groups, and some are general fighters.

Its Koei and its a Musou franchise. It's… kind of what they do.
The first games are always plagued by small rosters and bad ideas, and having to build everything from scratch, and then the second game is great because they balance and tweak and redesign levels, often cut out the thing most complained about by fans (here it seems to be the platform levels, Gundam it was the space levels, etc.) and add a ton of new characters.
Then the third game the roster is even bigger and they implement new things, but usually screw something up too.
-
The attention to detail of the game (to the manga) is incredible. I loled at Garp sleeping in mid fight.
-
I think it's enel's arc, maxim.
The sky is dark.. maybe they are undewater :D
Ok ok.. is not possible :( but.. i wanna see a shirahoshi xD
-
I just noticed Nami did not get affected by the evil smoke in the trailer.
I'll guess you star the StrawHats campaign with Luffy and Nami, so that you're not limited to one character and that you unlock the others after beating them in the next levels. -
Robin's playstyle is just difficult to get used to due to the oddness of her power, I feel. I've felt that way since Grand Battle.
-
I dunno, I found her easy, I always felt with Robin you have to create a 'flow' to make her work well, instead of just hammering buttons like Zoro/Sanji to get quick combos out.
Speaking of Robin's ball clutch move always reminds me how the earlier One Piece games used to put Happiness Punch in as Nami's.
-
This game might actually motivate me to get the money to buy a ps3. Too bad that'll take a year -.- But I can't wait for this! It's going to be one of the first games I get when I get a ps3!
-
Just noticed in the latest video that Ace is protecting Luffy from Whitebeard's attack. I wonder what's going on there… :P

He must be possesed like the other chars

@Devil:

That would be awesome :D Can't wait for this game! I feel it's a vast improvement over the first one by the looks of these videos :)

Who let the door open?
–----------------------------------------
Really enjoying the news so far. -
I'm 99% sure that Robin stands in front of Sanji to stop him from attacking the crew, as he won't hurt a woman.
Yeah, that's what I think too. And judging from the trailer, it seem to have worked.

Is it true there is no main log in this game now?
-
@Venomous:
Is it true there is no main log in this game now?
Yes and No. The Main campaign is Dream Mode now.

Dream mode? Ive heard of the whole what if stories and stuff that will be in, but does that mean no canon stuff will be played out like in the previous game? Because i loved the set pieces and cutscenes they recreated for those arcs. But im assuming like with all warriors games koei gets lazy, and either removes the best aspects or simplifies everything to a degree that is annoying.

It seems like they will have cutscenes but the story is made up. It appears to be the straw hats finding some device that turns them against each other. And i think blackbeard get's t at one point. I don't know completely
-

The story mode was the WORST part of the previous game. The platform levels were awful, being stuck as Luffy the entire game got old, and it meant only Zoro had any selection of levels in the free mode, that the fight matchups were predetermined and repetitive, and some characters got nothing at all… because it was trying to be true to the story... that everyone already knew anyway... but with having to skip large chunks.
(Also, it meant Luffy was OVER-developed. Its great that they squeezed all of his attacks in, but when he has to pinwheel a bonus menu bar to choose between like 12 different supers, attack modes, and has 4 different musou bars while other characters are struggling to reach 2... there's a problem. I can't even imagine how bad it'll be with the addition of haki, hardened mode, phoenix, ufo, and whatever else...
Easy fix is to have pre-gear Luffy, Gear 2 Luffy (with access to gear 3), and Timeskip luffy, each with a different spattering of moves, that would all play slightly different.)
Anyway, unique story and interactions is BETTER, we actually get surprises and new content, rather than seeing a recreated cinema of the same old events AGAIN. Its like the Dragonball and Naruto games... do you really want to go through the exact same story points AGAIN for the 8th time... or would you rather have a new creative fun thing that mixes it up?
-
@RobbyBevard:

I would rather have the same original story we all love recreated in video game form in order for the game to not alienate newcomers to the series instead of having something "creative" that will just confuse the hell out of anyone who's having their first experience with the series in the game.
When the first game came out I remember reading a couple of articles of people who never saw the series playing the game and explaining how random everything is in the beginning. Just imagine playing KM1 with no prior knowledge of One Piece; You are a pirate boy who has stretching powers and you are fighting a tall man who shoots lasers from his mouth and his hands. I can only imagine how this will go in KM2. When making a game based on a series the developers should also make it accessible to those who have never seen it in order to bring more people to it. While I will still enjoy the game with the main story or not, having it in the game would definitely be better than not having it.
-
in the first game they obviously have to follow the storyline, otherwise there will be a huge uproar from the fans. now, when we know that following the storyline means limiting the developer from making a more decent game, i really dont mind for them to discard the storyline in exchange for a better, more interesting game. then again, we still dont know whether the main log is still included or not (or do we already got the news for that?). everyone is entitled to their own opinion and preference though. me myself dont mind with this dream log.
