One Piece dub here in England

Well it used to get shown twice a week and then both eps repeated on the friday. But now I think it shows everyday.

And guess what?

We are STILL up to the Sanji arc… and it's replayed up until that point.. 5 times now I think. So your all lucky to have been able to get as far as you have.. X3

It's not very popular here yet. I mean compared to YGO, Duel masters, DBZ and so on which have nice shiny card games to back it up. I think once One Piece's card game comes out it might get a little more popular.

But it's annoying seeing the same arcs over and over again… I really want to see how they messed up Arlong arc... well small rant over~

But hey you got other shows to watch, believe me after arlong park One Piece dub goes falling off the edge with all the skipping and merging. BTW YGO cards are cool! Used to play with my friends all the time, but now its magic.

PS:Okay I have to ask a question, where are you in YGO the show? I just want to know. Canada's done the Orichalcos thing but doing re-runs, and America's finishing and premiering the newest Grand Championship, but what about England?

Yeah I have a friend in canada and my girlfriend watches it and tells me what goes on and I heard about the messing up and crap but I wnated to see the mess 1st hand X3 and I don't watch TV just OP and maybe the odd horror movie.

Ok about YGO… I gave up watching it... it started to bore me cus it was just Yami no Yuugi and Kaiba's ego trips and as a player the mistakes/mis use of the cards gives me headaches..

I've yet to see a channel in the UK that shows anime in a sensible one-episode-a-week way. Hell when Sonic X started on Fox Kids it was like once a day. If it weren't for the fact you get too many damn ads, I'd envy American TV.

This reminds me of when Toonami was daily and once they finished a season it would just repeat for the rest of the year, which really annoyed me.

I don't get how you're a fan yet you're waiting on the tv station and they're not even taking it seriously, two words: Kaizoku Fansubs.

In all fairness my tone probably seemed off due to the fact i hate that they bastardized my show.

So they havent showed the "Grand Championship" yet? Just want to compare the airing schedules. Anyway once they start showing new eps then you'll realize how much they screwed up One Piece, unless you only saw the dub.

You know… Some people can't download the fansubs so watching 4Kids version is all they can do. And you COULD become a fan out of the dub. That's how I became one... And I'm pretty sure alot of people did the same.

I just like watching the dub cus it's so bad it's funny~ and like someone said. Not everyone can download it.

I live in Wales, so we get the dubs and yes. I too have only reached the Baratie arc. Not even the end of it either…

As for YGO I haven't watched it for ages. The animation got screwed up something chronic at the end. Like they said. "It's going out of fashion so lets half ass it." They all had loads of black scribbles under their eyes. O_o

I watch the dub too even though I download fansubs. It's just too much fun seeing what cheesy ideas they come up with next.

(I assume you mean the rating 'U'). Keep in mind that they're really trying to cram it into the US's Y7 rating, even though it's U rated material in the UK. If only they were going for a British PG rating, they could fit so much more in….

A British uncut release would mainly be a mixture of 12 and PG ratings, with really violent episodes being 15 and REALLY light episodes being U (come on, like the cooking contest would get a PG rating)

I think England's more tolerent then then USA? I mean we get like 18 rated movies on at like… 9-10 for the love of god

They let all kinds of crazy stuff on TV here, unless it's specifically aimed at children. Most kids stuff is rated Y7. The anime they show on Adult Swim is Y14. (I think the numbers refer to suggested age)

Well I'm no American, so obviously you know more about this kind of thing, but I remember hearing of a cut TV14 release of the Matrix that had all sorts of insane crap, including dubbing over swear words and such. It's got an uncut 15 release over here. I know your uncut rating is R, but meh =P

Although I guess it's different if TV14 is advisory and 15 is legally enforcable. From my experience, legally enforcable ratings aren't as over-the-top as advisory ratings. Example.

They did this with Digimon. Turned on ITV when I was about 10-They were replaying the 2nd series. They played about 3 episodes of the 3rd.

They'll end up not getting the next few arcs. =(

One of the problems isn't just the ratings that they aim for, but the market for the ratings.

Nobody shows any childrens' programming drawing higher than a Y7 or a G, I suppose because parenting groups would scream about a show which rated "parental guidance suggested"– it would ruin the TV as an electric babysitter if the parents had to make decisions as to the suitability of the programme.

Swear words are generally taboo on broadcast TV. It's a fascinating double-standard: you can swear and have graphic sex on cable or satellite, if you'll pay $30 a month for the privelege, but you're not allowed to do it on over-the-air. Violence, however, is perfectly acceptable.

It's all right to have four crime procedurals on in a night, totalling ten murders, as long as nobody has sex.

I want to round up every religious-right, child-protecting parental-group and whack them repeatedly with a bible. Children need to be "deflowered"-- shown that yes, the world has sex and violence and rude words, so they can cope with it when they see it.

What I think One Piece in the UK needs is more exposure. Duel Masters and YGO (which I love) is in your face everywhere you go. It has video games, card games and board games, amongst other things. It's a constant presence in people's mind that it needs. I mean, until you've heard of it and watched it and gotten hooked, it's like it's never existed.

Speaking of ratings, the anime club at my school has gotten in trouble two times over the past three years because people complained, even though they got their PERMISSION forms signed. It's not like we're watching porn! >< Who cares if there is a naked baby, WHO CARES!?!?!
