Favorite piece of One Piece animation.

The title pretty much sums it up. There are som many great animators for this series so let's give them a shout out. What is your favorite piece or scene from any One Piece animation, it can be either from the anime, the movies, the openings, the games or from commercials. You are of course free to mention more than one and naming your favorite animator is encouraged.

I can't really decide but for now I'm going to go with the part in Kokoro no Chizu where Aokiji freezes Luffy's arm. Might not be much but I just adore it and I think Noboru Koizumi did a great job with it.

I mean the show isn't what it used to be, but it has had some really nice animation interspersed throughout.

I'd say Zoro cutting up Mr. 1. There was something so surreal about it.

I've always fancied the beatdown Sanji unleashed on some poor minor villain from the second movie. If I remember it right, some famous animator is responsible for that cool sequenece. I think it was Sushio, but I'm not 100% certain.

That was indeed Sushio.

And speaking of him, the boat race from Movie 6 is one of my favorite animation sequences in the series. It really has that comedic twang to it that a fuller style wouldn't have been able to get across.

Although I don't know the animators well enough to credit them, I do hold the first scene of Strong World, the (G2) Luffy vs Mushul fight, and many segments from Luffy vs Baron Omatsuri to be some of my top favorites.

There is a lot of awesomely animated scenes in One Piece. But to stay on topic, I think Hiromi Ishigami brought something new to the show with her Gear 3rd scene in episode 467.

I gotta agree with that point. Not only the animation, but the graphics and details of shading and light were just epic… and when else to try such a scene other then when Luffy is kicking an annoyings enemy's stomach in XD

I also must say I really like the scene in the Marineford War where Luffy and Smoker go at it, and Smoker's flying through the air while Luffy punches him. That was some high-level stuff (in the context of a nearing-600 episode series).

I haven't watched the anime in a long time, but I remember this one scene in SA. Luffy was fighting around with some fodder bounty hunters. It looked really good. I think Tomita directed that one, but I'm not sure. Either way, he's one of my favorite directors.

I also liked Luffy vs Blueno. Tate directed that one, but I'm sure he worked with several other names since it looks drastically different from his other stuff. I mainly liked how wild the animation went. Those flips.

But my absolute favorite is that entire episode where the crew all defeats Oars together. I heard the person that worked on this episode does Toriko now.. which is a shame. Because that was the best looking episode in the anime, and I wished the whole series looked like it. The art, the shading, and the exaggerated scratchy expressions that you can get from the manga was all spot on.

Aside from those, not alot cross my mind.

Kitsune Inferno

I have a soft spot for Skypiea. I loved the saturation of the colors in that arc and the weight of the lines in some scenes. Not always the best animation (Zoro's shoulders and Robin's hands), but yeah.

As for the best animated scene, I'd probably agree with the Tenryuubito punch.

Most of the key scenes in Marineford, the Tenryuubito punch, the crew vs Oars, a few bit parts during Luffy vs Lucci, Luffy kicking Hody…

Those are some of the few scenes I can think of off the top of my head.
