Yeah, I have pretty no knowledge of computers, so I'm not quite good at these things.

When I booted up my stationary computer today it wouldn't start. Well, it started, but Windows wouldn't start. I got a blue screen, and then it just looped around. I tried to repair it with the standard repair program, which of course didn't work. It's quite urgent, since I have lots of important stuff saved on the computer. I assume I have to in some reinstall Windows.

Have you tried booting up in Safe Mode (will it even let you)? Try reading this article, it's the most comprehensive one I've found. It should tell you how to read the Blue Screen of Death text and how to fix the problems.

As much as I want to be / should be, I'm no computer expert either.

Ugh, all that look very complicated. 😕 Anyway, yeah, it doesn't work to boot up in safe mode.

I'll just borrow the Windows 7 disc from a friend, so I can reinstall it. If that doesn't work, well. I'm screwed.

Blue screens are always such a mess to talk about, especially over online. Because well, there's alot to factors to why it can occur. It could be driver related. It could be software related. It could be hardware related. The latter is always the easiest to resolve, since all you'd need to do is replace a faulty part(usually it's memory. other cases it's a CPU or Graphics Card).

So yeah. Hopefully it's just your Windows OS.

Yeah, it's a proper mess. I've searched online for an answer, but there's just too many answers, and too many complicated ones. So if rebooting the OS doesn't work… then yeah. Will be doing that tomorrow.
