I just saw the thread in another site, and since there will be three weeks until the next release, we could use that time to share opinions about the best and the worst of the One Piece manga in this 2012 year. So, please express you opinions in this thread following the listed topics:

Let me start with my opinions:

• Best moment of the year;
To me the gest moment of the year is one and just one: the moment in which we knew there is a plan to take down a yonkou and to turn the new world into a chaos. That is also the major event in this year, and for sure it's the beginning of the way that will put Luffy in Raftel.

• Character of the year;
He sure has some weak moments. But Law is the star this year. Not only for conceiving his remarkable plan, but also for giving the most amazing hit of the year: his final slash over Vergo's body, ... oh, and over the whole island, by the way.

• Best plot twist;
To me, to entrance of Doflamingo in the scene. In a, by far, too intricate arc, that took the action to a different level, at least, in terms that we could realized that... yes... this is the wild New World.

• Best new character;
I love Monet, and the worst moment for me is her death. I also like Baby 5. In the last chapter she was smoking after the rejoining of her parts is just awesome. But to me, and please don't bash me for it, the best new one is Caesar. I know that in November and December much people was trying to punch the screen to help Luffy in his endless fight against him. We were sick of it. But that was not Caesar's fail, but Luffy's fail. Before of that fight, and in some moments of it, I enjoyed his Kabuki like design; he probably is the character with more funny faces in this manga, and he is... the important key of the plan that will take down a Yonkou and a Shishibukay.

• Best fight of the year;
Monet vs Zoro.

• Funniest moment of the year
After stopping the SAD production, Law asking where was Caesar and discovering how smart and strategic is the guy with who he formed and alliance to develop his master plan. Just hilarious... I will include in a second place here, the whole switching personalities moments between Sanji and Nami.

• Best surprise of the year;
Doflamingo. Wano characters introducing a possible arc about a possible awesome arc.

• Shame of the year;
Monet's death. Maybe she will survive in the next year.

• Worst character
I like them all, so the one I like the least would be maybe the Yeti Cold Brothers. ....If it would be for the fights, the worst character of 2012, would be Luffy. But his participation in the alliance is just hilarious. He is the guy.

• Worst new character;
The brothers.

• Worst fight of the year;
Yes.... Luffy vs Caesar.

• Worst surprise of the year.
That only three straw hats manage armament haki.

• Best moment of the year; - Law defeating Vergo and slicing the mountain in half.

• Character of the year; - I'm also giving this to Law, he had the most character development this year and really shined with the Pirate Alliance and fight with Vergo.

• Best plot twist; - I agree that Doflamingo's role in the story was the best twist this year.

• Best new character; - I think Vergo gets this, but it was close with Caesar Clown. Vergo was just much more intimidating and mysterious.

• Best fight of the year; - Luffy VS Caesar Clown was kind of slow but I liked the development and Luffy having to chase Caesar around the lab.

• Funniest moment of the year - The interactions between Zoro and Tashigi. Especially when Tashigi asked why he was talking like he was above her and he said because she is below him.

• Best surprise of the year; - Probably SAD and how it's going to affect the New World.

• Shame of the year; - Not enough screentime or development for Brownbeard, Kinemon or Momonosuke. But I guess that's what next year is for.

• Worst character - I hoped the Yeti Cool Brothers would have more of an impact but they jobbed to Law. It was really wasted potential, but I'm pretty sure they'll get a cover story in the future.

• Worst new character; - Yeti Cool Brothers again.

• Worst fight of the year; - Straw Hats VS Yeti Cool Brothers.

• Worst surprise of the year. - Caesar Clown being the one responsible for the explosion on Punk Hazard, it was necessary for his character but was pretty obvious and didn't need such a long flashback.

Joining later, usually means at the end of the same arc the character was introduced or at least being a relevant character over several arcs.

Best Character: Brook, finally got some development and new powers

Worst character: Caribou's brother, the lizard on his head is cool though.

Worst surprise: Jinbe not joining.

Worst fight: Luffy vs Hody, no reason didn't like it, it makes sense story-wise, I just didn't like it.

Funniest moment: Kinemon talking through farts.

Best new character: Baby5, she has cool powers, and a funny personality.

Best fight: Luffy vs Ceasar, Grizzly Magnum is amazing.

Character of the year: Doflamingo, a character that we've seen and known for over 500 chapters is truly entering the story.

Best plot twist: Doflamingo frowning, it counts.

I kinda liked this new direction. We got a chance to break away from the usual rhythm. I imagine that when Jinbe is re introduced into the story later on, it will be a big plot point or plot twist.

I feel Vergo was the best of the new blood, he sure was a pleasure to watch closely followed by Kinemon.
I didn't really like any of the fights this year, it was pretty weak all round.
I really did like the Doflamingo twist.
I felt that funniest moments were Vergo's initial antics (thinking he was a swordsman, etc).

The mods might not like this since there is the Best and Worst One Piece chapter of the year awards in the AP Awards, but I think this is a cool idea so I'll do it:
Best Moment of the Year: The crew disembarking on Punk Hazard. Such an exciting moment/chapter for me, this chapter got me so pumped for the arc.

Character of the Year: Sanji, he has done a lot to redeem himself this arc for me, mainly his relationship with Kinemon and antics with the G-5 marines.
Best Plot Twist: Joker is revealed to be none other than Doflamingo.
Best New Character: Monet. Loved her design/character since her introduction in chapter 662.
Best Fight of the Year: Smoker vs. Law, the best fight in the arc by far for me.

Best Surprise of the Year: Again, Doflamingo being Joker and pretty much behind Punk Hazard

• Best moment of the year; Personally it's between law cutting the whole island in half and luffy/law/smoker team up
• Character of the year; Law. He was my favourite supernova and it's cool to see more of him
• Best plot twist; The SAD. Artificial devil fruits open up a new range of possibility but knowing doflamingo sells the to an emperor is really important
• Best new character; Monet with vergo a close second. I hoped she would join the crew or leave doflamingo and join eneru at some point later.
• Best fight of the year; Zoro vs. Monet. The end scene with zoro cutting monet in half was amazng.
• Funniest moment of the year; either vergo and his face gag or the body swap. I loved both of them.
• Best surprise of the year; how devil fruits are re-formed. I figured it was doable but i didn't expect it to happen so soon.
• Shame of the year; Monet's death. She had a lot of potential. Seems a waste.
• Worst character; Caribou. Fuck him and his side-story
• Worst new character; yeti cool brothers i guess.
• Worst fight of the year; smoker vs vergo but only because it mostly happened off-screen.
• Worst surprise of the year; only the monster trio have haki. was sure at least robin would have it as well

Black Leg

• Best m****oment of the year; Hawkins, Kidd and my mother fucking bro Apoo form an alliance, for me this is the best moment entirely because of Apoo. It's also pretty cool that they've all made a big enough name for themselves to be watching the events on Punk Hazard and about the new weapon Smiley. • Character of the year;
Caesar. This was close as I was very tempted to put in Baby-5 as I love her gags but Caesar has been such a great villain especially coming off from Hody who wasn't even the best villain in his own arc (Vander Decken was) Caesar has felt like such a classic villain who kills children, doesn't care about his subordinates and is a huge asshole. I love these type of villains. Also he has great reaction faces

Joker is DoFlamingo. Anything involving DoFlamingo is always great

• Best new character;
I guess I'll still give this to Caesar with Baby-5 in close second

• Best fight of the year;
The crew Vs the first dragon. This was a great intro to Punk Hazard and really frickin cool. Law Vs Smoker was a close second
• Funniest moment of the year
All body-swapping shenanigans. These chapters were easily the greatest chapters of the year. "We are Nami-san" and Luffy walking in on Franky (Nami) decking Nami (Sanji) were hilarious. Also the nice changes in design were really cool, Tashigi (Smoker) looked so bad-ass.

• Best surprise of the year;
Again it's Joker being DoFlamingo

• Shame of the year;
Kinemon being turned into stone, which probably means everyone who has been turned into stone will be cured. Such a shame

• Worst character
The Yeti cool brothers. They were not that cool. the best thing to come out of them was Franky going ballistic and entering monster chopper

• Worst new character;
Once again it's the Yeti cool brothers. Though the kids were also really annoying and their chapters were tedious

• Worst fight of the year;
Zoro & Tashigi Vs Monet. I didn't mind the fight but it was pretty dull and I think I would prefer if Zoro would just always indiscriminately take down his enemies, even though he did it in the end he took his damn time

• Worst surprise of the year.

Law cut Punk Hazard in two claming his declaration of war to Doflamingo.

• Character of the year
Trafalgar Law, not my preferite, but the one that made this arc became awesome at all.
Special: Brownbeard!!! I love that man!!!!

• Best plot twist
All the cross between Dofla, Yonkou and Smiles.

• Best new character
Monet: I really liked her (and not in the boobsmeaning :ninja:). She's a very good character and her will of sacrifice conquested me. • Best fight of the year
Law vs. Smoker: a very short but awesome fight, with tactics and all. However, if it was canonical I'd sayd Luffy vs. Zephyr.

• Funniest moment of the year
Schambles Time: Sanji in Nami and Franky in Chopper make me laugh so hard that yet now I can feel it.

• Best surprise of the year
Doflamingo is coming: I never imagined Doflamingo coming to Punk Hazard.

• Shame of the year
Shinokuni: now that Kinemon has been hit, they surely find an antidote.

• Worst character
Vergo: he could be the best characters, but he lost this when he became just a haki-terminator (and later blackhulk).

• Worst new character
Yeah, the Yeti Cool Bros.

• Worst fight of the year
Vergo vs. Sanji: interrupted in the best moment.

• Worst surprise of the year
Luffy's taste in techniques name: Just. Grizzly Magnum.

The Yeti Bros definitely take the spot of worst new character. Potentially they could've been interesting but the execution wasn't the best and eventually they only served as fodder for Law and Luffy to show off a little.

Vergo: he could be the best characters, but he lost this when he became just a haki-terminator (and later blackhulk).

Actually that's one of the reasons why I like his character so much. Other than relying on any special fruit he only uses the six techniques combined with outstanding Haki skills. In other words a melee fighter through and through (one of my favourite types).

• Best moment of the year; Luffy, Smoker and Law, along with the rest of the crew ready to go crazy at the research facility after escaping the cage. • Character of the year; Everyone has gotten cool little things to do, quite a bit of cool teamwork moments for the different fractions. It's really tough to decide. I'm gonna go with Luffy. I love all the various gags, like him pissing off Law with his behavior, the centaur thing, dodging Ceasar's attacks, shutting Ceasar up(just grabbing him after he started his speech). "He already has the selfishness of a Yonkou", indeed.
Honorable mention: Brownbeard. "They know my name."
• Best plot twist; Law wants to take down a yonkou and team up with Luffy to do it.
• Best new character; Ceasar. I love how Luffy constantly shuts him up and how his whole character makes fun of the typical villains.
• Best fight of the year;
I'm gonna choose all the Luffy vs. Ceasar fights. Ceasar uses his ability in extremely inventive ways, too. All of the fighting styles this arc have been really cool either visually and/or in how they work. • Funniest moment of the year; Chopper on Law's hat. • Best surprise of the year; Donflamingo is involved with the plot! Always been one of the coolest villains to me and loved his speech at Marineford. • Shame of the year; How Monet was taken out. It not only looked down upon Tashigi(again), but also Monet as well. Really annoying, especially seeing how Zoro fights Ain in movie Z from the previews. • Worst character; Caribou. Compared to everything in PH itself he's annoying and boring as hell, even if his coverstory will probably lead up to something really significant because he knows about Poseidon and is on Kaidou's island.
• Worst new character; Yeti Cool Brothers. Not because of the characters, but because how pointless they were in the long run. We got some cool action scenes out of them, but that's it. They seem like coverstory material, though.
• Worst fight of the year; Zoro vs. Monet. Everything that lead up to the end was fine, Monet even used her ability in really cool ways. The clashes between her and Zoro were really well-drawn.
Again, it's the finish that really bothered me. I tried to reason it, but looking back, it's just stupid and kind of pisses me off. Which OP rarely does to me. If something doesn't interest me with OP, I'm usually bored by it or indifferent to it. • Worst surprise of the year.
It's a given and expected at this point, but seeing Kinemon petrified means that everyone else will be fine, too, thus everyone is alive.

Dofla opening the window and is on the damn way with a rape face… Damn that was awesome... Law's speech after cutting Vergo was epic as well

• Character of the year
Kinemon... Love him

• Best plot twist
The whole DoFla/underground/Smiles stuff

• Best new character
Kinemon... Love him

• Best fight of the year
Little Vergo vs Sanji fight

• Funniest moment of the year
Sanji commanding G5 to make fun out of Zoro

• Best surprise of the year
Dofla is coming with a rape face

• Shame of the year
Cool Brothers being out and never had a role again... Well the whole overhyping Law was a bit lame

• Worst character
CC... But Robin in close second... sadly... She is absolutely useless in this arc

• Worst new character

Zoro vs Monet... Boring as hell

• Worst surprise of the year

Finally.. • Character of the year; Trafalgar Law - If this arc didn't have him, it would be boring as hell.. • Best plot twist; Every Doflamingo's plan. • Best new character; Kinemon • Best fight of the year; Law vs Smoker - Epic fight! • Funniest moment of the year Franky Tank's scene - I laughed so hard. • Best surprise of the year; Doflamingo flying through the sea.. • Shame of the year; Jinbe still not joining :sad: • Worst character Dragons.. • Worst new character; Yeti Cool brothers. • Worst fight of the year; -Zoro vs Monet.. • Worst surprise of the year. -Law using 1 hit K.O Vergo… - But cutting the mountain in half is cool..

I'm not realy gonna pick what everyone around here has, though I am massively enjoying Doflamingo being in the main story (he was the last of the "old guard" Shichibukai not to cross paths with the SH's yet, and I have been waiting for more of the guy for years). However, the best moment of the year, in my opinion, goes to Brownbeard's scene a couple of chapters back.

Why ? Because the Doflamingo stuff is basicly setup that will get followed up on later, however this was a truly fine character moment, especialy for someone who when he first showed up everyone here was basicly making fun of as a no-name thug for the SH's to take out as their first obstacle in the New World. Hell, I've purposefully been hyping the guy up for years as a joke. And now, people actualy care for the guy ! Easily a thousand times better then the horribly forgettable, bland, ugly and useless Rolling Pirates from way back in TB, who so far are the low point for arc-centric supporting characters. • Best New Character of the year;
Gonna diverge a bit here, to properly explain what I'm feeling at the moment. Best new characters has to go to Caesar, because he's actualy a pretty over the top carricature and his beatdown after all the shit he pulled was satisfying as all hell. • Best plot twist;
Well, this one's a bit hard. I can probably only give this to the "Smiles" revelation. • Best fight of the year;
I guess I'll have to go for Luffy vs. CC, mainly because I didn't care as much for the others.
• Funniest moment of the year There wasn't that much comedy in this arc, so I'm gonna go with the whole body switch thing (was gonna go for Baby 5's antics but that's cause the recent events made me forget the switch even happened).
• Best surprise of the year; Brownbeard being back in the story and not being a completely one dimensional goon.
• Shame of the year; Hmm. If this topic was around last year, I'd definitely point out Robin's "fight", not to mention the complete omission of the three princes' fight and Shirley being Arlong's sister never amounting to anything.

Gonna say focusing on Caribou in the cover story. I like it so far yes but I think it's too early and there's other characters he hasn't gone back to in years that deserve it. • Worst character I know Zachri is gonna try to kill me through her computer screen for this, but I'm gonna say Law. I just don't care for the guy, and he does seem to exist solely to "be cool". • Worst new character;
As everyone said, the Yeti Cool Brothers fit the bill. I just don't realy like the guy as a whole, and dramaticaly I would have preffered him to show his head much later.

all in all i thought 2012 was decent; PH felt like a giantset up arc like whiskey peak, so most characters got shafted, however Frankys 13+ gap was unnecessary.

• Best moment of the year; The beggining of the arc, it was really great, and i loved the adventure feeling. When the dragon appeared… WOW.

• Character of the year; Brownbeard. It's surprising how Oda turned a fodder character into a very likeable guy and one of the best things of the arc just like that. Kinemon's close, though, along with Caesar and Sanji.

• Best plot twist; Kid's alliance, Joker being Doflamingo and the Smiles revelation were awesome, but they didn't surprise me as much.

• Best new character; Caesar Clown, one of the best villains of the series . I place Kinemon on the same level ( since the moment when he claimed he wanted to save his son i knew he was gonna be a great character ), but unlike him, who will stay with the Strawhats for a while, i think Caesar's role in the series is closer to the end, so i'm going with the mad scientist.

• Best fight of the year; Law vs Smoker / Strawhats vs the big dragon. I liked Smoker and Law vs Vergo, too.

• Funniest moment of the year**;** Franky Tank! I can't believe it hasn't been mentioned yet, really.

• Best surprise of the year; Kid's alliance here too, though Law appearing in PH / Doflamingo coming to Punk Hazard are close. I'm with Black Leg, i orgasmed at the mere sight of Apoo. I love that guy.

• Shame of the year; I can't decide right now.

• Worst character; I can't decide on this one either.

• Worst new character; Guess what? Another difficult one for me. I guess i'm better at deciding good things than bad ones

• Best moment of the year: Luffy punching Caesar after thus explained how he has Doflamingo and a Yonkou behind his back. • Character of the year: Since I don't want to name one character twice (being "Best new character" also), I will go with Brownbeard here. Gotta give it to Oda to make an ugly guy that only showcased the changes from Whitebeard's death into an ally of the Straw Hats that you genuinely care for. Especially in chapter 689 he was awesome and even Luffy acknowledged him there.

• Best plot twist: Doflamingo is Joker. It was quite cool to finally see him getting really involved in the story.
• Best new character: Caesar. No contest.
• Best fight of the year:
I kinda think Law vs Smoker was choreographed best this year.
• Funniest moment of the year: Franky in Chopper. • Best surprise of the year: The Smiles Doflamingo meantioned on Sabaody before actually being artificial Zoan Devil Fruits. Love Oda and his foreshadowings.
• Shame of the year: Spoil getting left out from "From the Decks of the World" • Worst character: Sad to say this, but Nico Robin kind of only was a background character this arc.
• Worst new character: Yeti Cool Brothers. Well, not themselves, but the fact that they had a big introduction and then were only around for 2 chapters.
• Worst fight of the year: Law & Smoker vs Vergo. The ending to the battle just seemed to abrupt and from the rest of the battle we didn't see much. • Worst surprise of the year:
Nothing really comes to mind…so I'll just go with Monet being a Snow Logia. She didn't do much with her power in the end.

• Best moment of the year - End of Fishman Island Arc (because the conflict was so rushed through at the end I didn't feel any investment, I still think the fights could have been way more interesting if the strawhats had better handicaps against them, with the drug and seawater around them it wouldn't have been too difficult to come up with something, so yeah moving on from that was indeed the best for me)

• Character of the year - Kinemon, because samurai are the best characters of every year, food is so overrated(no seriously no idea, for me there really isn't such a thing)

• Best plot twist - What SAD turned out to be (probably, I still feel very meh about choosing something here, I don't think we've got a lot of amazing plot twist but a lot of setup for things)

• Best new character - Baby 5 (because so many thought she was a maiden in distress that of course will join the crew after a rescue arc against doflamingo, nope instead she just has one of these whacky complexes that I/we love about one piece)

• Best fight of the year - General Franky vs. Baby5/buffalo

• Funniest moment of the year - probably baby 5's complex

• Best surprise of the year - That alliance chapter between kid, apoo and basil, honestly didn't expect to get that in this arc

• Shame of the year - Tashigi and Zoro and the godawful discussion around sexism that spawned from it.

• Worst character - Again Tashigi/Zoro for the same reason. Why it's two characters? Well because it would sexism if I would only choose either tashigi or zoro

• Worst new character - 3 eyes girl, because of course she will be the next crewmate…

• Worst fight of the year - smoker vs. vergo come on man, one of the only marines left within that faction that you can root for and that's the most he can do? • Worst surprise of the year - zoro dicking a little too much around in his fight against monet…

Nice thread Ukimix. Great year for One Piece, especially after Fishman Island. Certainly deserves a small recap of the most noteworthy things. I thought about rereading the arc before answering those questions, but I think it will be easier to judge if I just go by what I can easily remember.

Best moment of the year;
This is a tough one. But the moment that left the biggest impression was certainly Luffy, Smoker and Law going counter hazard. Many criticize that we haven't seen Luffy go all out after the timeskip, and that his enemies so far were not worthy to really show off anyway…but this one panel alone is enough proof that he is no leaf in the wind anymore. This isn't the goofy rubberman of Eastblue, or the plot-coated ragemachine against the evil mastermind. After 2 years of training he is no underdog anymore, and he wouldn't look bad if you put him next to any of the Shichibukai, current and past.

Character of the year;
Sanji hands down.
I'm actually a little surprised that I seem to be the only one who thinks this way, but whatever. Every character in this arc had his or her moment to shine, but what really makes the difference here is that Sanji acted in a supporting role for a shitload of them. He was the one who basically introduced Kinemon to the crew, his reaction to the famous door could let Franky shine, his rational thinking concerning the kids showed us just how much Nami resembles Belmere, his behavior after Law's bodyswitch was arguably the highlight, he was the one who hyped Vergo for us, he gave us insight on Zoro's personality (if we like it or not). And if this wasn't enough already, he becomes the ridiculous "Blackleg Bro" pseudo-Marine commander, and with that it seems like the first time even fodder gets to shine.
I mean okay, Law is a "oh so mysterious" powerhouse and Caesar is easily one of my favorite villains now, but Sanji acted as the backbone of the arc…and there is no denying it.

Best plot twist;
Hm, not that I like it a lot, but Doflamingo making his way to Punk Hazard was something I really didn't expect.

Best new character; Tough choice between Kinemon and Caesar, but I go with the latter. What can I say, I have a soft spot for villains.:wub:

Best fight of the year;
Luffy vs. Caesar, second clash. Mainly because it was a lot like Luffy vs. Enel. The villain comes up with creative ways to combat the protagonist, while Luffy counters like he always does. Instinct!

Funniest moment of the year;
No competition.

Best surprise of the year;
Luffy agreeing to a pirate alliance. Now that I can look back I should have known that Luffy's idea of an alliance certainly differs from mine (and Law's…), but it was a surprise nevertheless.

Shame of the year;
Smoker losing not once, not twice, but three times in one arc. I'm aware that circumstances play a role, but I guess this is simply a case of too high expectations on my part. I thought this badass Marine is supposed to be Luffy's Garp, now I just can't see him as a real threat anymore. Especially since Luffy can't wait to confront him on fair terms.

Worst character;
Yeti Cool Brothers. They could also count as shame of the year I guess. They were awesome, too bad Oda neglected them. At least until now.

Caesar, hands down. He's such a magnificent little bastard, and the way Oda designed and portrayed him….is gold. The crappy acting, the weird reaction faces, the gas powers, the design, the way he's an amoral mad scientist that doesn't care who he hurts and what he does. He was a sight to behold in Punk Hazard. In fact, I really want to see more of him in the future. And even better, he's WAAAAY better than Hodi Jones as a villain.

• Worst new character …..Yeti Cool Brothers? Purely because they showed up for a little bit and just.....disappeared. And they weren't too memorable. I mean, compared to the likes of Caesar, Brownbeard, Kinemon, Vergo, and Momonosuke? If they did more and were a little more rememerable, then I'd say Monet.

But hey, I'll always remember someone turning into a vicious snow monster and trying to eat reindeer. Too bad, because the Cool Brothers were bounty hunters, and we need more of those in this series.

• Worst fight of the year Zoro vs Monet. Yes, I liked Tashigi got to contribute, but it wasn't as much as Zoro. And not only did Monet turn out to be a joke, I really wanted Nami, Robin, or Chopper to take her on. Zoro's got enough fights under his belt!

This is a good shout! I'm only now noticing how good a year it's been for Sanji, it's like a return to form for him. Also it seems that Sanji always works best when with a group of rowdy men like G-5 and the baratie chefs, even if he hates it himself I feel this is always where his character shines

Law cutting Vergo and destroying S.A.D, his speech to go along with it, and seeing the panels of the Supernovas, Big Mam, and seeing the panel of Doflamingo mad. Classic moment of One Piece. It's the "shit is really about to go down" moment.

Character of the year

Trafalgar Law for providing mystery into the arc, delivering an awesome speech. Carrying out plans to destroy S.A.D and accomplishing his goals. Also I feel that Oda did a good job in fleshing out his character.

Best plot twist

Doflamingo coming to Punk Hazard, never thought it would happen.

Best new character

Vergo, the most interesting new antagonist by far for me. I loved his condescending attitude towards Law. I liked his role he played as Pirate working his way to become a Vice Admiral, so that Doflamingo is able to do carry out operations.

Best fight of the year
Law vs Smoker. Such a great fight, it was very cool seeing how much wider's Law's Room had become, and him using Mes.. awesome.

Funniest moment of the year

When Chopper's was put on Law's head.

Best surprise of the year The revelation of Doflamingo being Joker. The way Oda revealed and how and why the Kids got there, and Vergo being a Vice Admiral because of Doflamingo, made this revelation even more better.

Definitely this. For me it was the most impressing panel in 2012.
Character of the year
Chopper. Although he did not get a lot of screentime compared to the M3 this year, Punk Hazard arc finally dealt with Chopper´s past by giving him a patient he almost could not save, namely Mocha. Furthermore, it is always impressive when Chopper gets angry. It does not happen too often but when it happens it sits with you.

Best plot twist
Joker being DoFlamingo. After years of guessing what DD actually does in the shadows, we were finally enlightened.
Best new character
Definitely Momonosuke for me, i just can not get enough of his comments, his reactions or his facial expressions.

Best fight of the year
Smoker vs Law. For me the only "real" fight we saw with two opponents who were serious from the get-go and which we fully saw, unlike Vergo vs Smoker. Furthermore, unlike the general consensus, for me the fight was also the most exciting since the first hit would decide the match on both sides.

Funniest moment of the year
It´s quite hard to pick one since it was definitely a funny year. I can´t decide between this and this

The reveal of artificial DFs, whether it is the Smiles or Vegapunk´s version

The existence of artificial Devil Fruits.

Vergo. Badass with a fairly amusing quirk.

Worst Surprise: Umm….I guess Monet's snow powers? I thought the idea was fine, but how the hell is a snow dome so difficult to break, and how would a snow sword work at all? I didn't mind it too much, but in terms of surprises, I guess I liked this the least.

Hands down Law vs Smoker. That fight is filled with epicness and jizztastice actions.

When Franky(in Chopper's body) turned monster point. I literally laughed my ass off when I first saw that.
