In terms of that Bepo and Pekoms imho resemble those forms more with looking mostly like animals, but still having somewhat human to them.

No, look at a clear pic of those DFs from smileys, many of them have the "half-mask" look of many zoans. Their faces don't look like Pekoms & Bepo.

What Bleuno was talking about is Jabra's superstion is just that, a superstion. That page is clear, Jabr thought if an uneaten DF fruit got near a DF user, then the 'devil' in would come out and kill the user. Bleuno isn't clear on WHAT the transfer theory is, but he says its clear that if someone who already has a DF ability eats a 2nd DF, they would die.

Hmm…......if SMILE acts the same as the artificial failed devil fruit Vegapunk made, then I can see how its possible that you can eat a SMILE and a devil fruit and be just fine.
It would be because SMILE are too weak compared to normal devil fruits. SMILE shouldn't be seen the same way as normal devil fruits are, but instead, should be seen as something "that simply turns the person into a animal" That makes no special characteristics, not transformations, none of that. Just the animal and the aspects it naturally has as is.
This would mean that SMILE is a whole new powerup, and in the new world, it could be seen as the answer to haki.
Also, I DO think that Pekoms ate a Turtle Zoan, and a Lion SMILE. Which means that you can see Pekoms as foreshadowing towards SMILE and Big Mam having the SMILE army.
Blackbeard doesn't need SMILE, for many reasons.
1. SMILE is much MUCH weaker than normal zoan fruits.
2. He already has his way to take the whole power of devil fruit users.

Here you can see that MP and MS versions have translated CC's as if he would be meaning that Luffy is going to have troubles with all 4 emperors (last-left panel). So, because of the context, as an implication, some people has thought that the 4 emperors are interested in smile and have some kind of business with Doflamingo. According to Aohige's previous explanation, all of that is wrong, and MP and MS translations are not quite accurate to avoid those misunderstadings:
Yonkou (Four Emperors) is a title, and you'd use it for any of the Emperors.
Just like Shichibukai is "Seven Warlords", but when you address one as Shichibukai, you don't mean all seven.
Honestly I was trying to understand this explanation, and I didn't get it until I remembered a post by Aohige from some months ago, in which he was explaining that if there were 6 or 8 war lords, then they wouldn't be called Shishibukai; and if the emperors were 3 or 5 they wouldn't be called Yonkou. So that the term 'Yonkou' has an implicit reference to the fact that there are 4 emperors and not 3 or 5, (and so, Mangastream version is really damm bad!). But when used in a context like that one of CC's current speech, the world is used only to refer to one emperor: the one previously mentioned by CC.

The only thing I found weird about Luffy this chapter, as someone pointed out before, was how Luffy placed his hand on Brownbeard. It reminded me of a mother gently placing their hand on their child when their sick. It seemed really out of place.

Big mom would be the strongest Logia, Whitebeard (now Blackbeard) the strongest Paramecia, Kaidou the strongest Zoan and Shanks would be the strongest non-fruit user.
Oda is a big fan of Mecha, and Kaido seems to have a Mecha theme.. so it looks like that's where he's going with him.
Big Mam is just WEIRD, her whole theme seems to be a mind-f.. which would book end her and the insanity thats been going on at PH.. so that's where it looks like he's going with her.

A ton of simpler hanzi/kanji exactly the same, and even the ones that aren't tend to just have very small visual differences, which is why all the Chinese kids in my Japanese class got _nearly_ perfect scores on all the kanji quizzes, damn them all to hell.
Nice chapter , but I don't really give a damn about Brown Beard, he is just whatever to me, a boring useless character that should be dead. That aside there was something different about the art this chapter, like it was better than it usually is. I really liked it. Also that pUnch by Luffy at the end was amazingly drawn. Ceasar should be down from that but who knows.

For me that is an important information since i have already been learning Hanzi/Mandarin for 4 years now and wanted to learn Japanese next, i just feared that the Kanji could have different meanings.

Remember Magellan was a paramecia that produced poison from his body. (Like Mr 3. Produced Wax.) He was affected by his own poison because of this. Logia users are immune to their respective element. You don't see Akainu melting from his own lava.

Suppose Doflamingo has somehow put his influence into the artificial devil fruits he makes. His whole MO is control. I'm thinking he has some way to control all of the users of his Smiles. And he's planting them all like sleeper agents in key positions in influential people's forces. So when the time is right he can control an army from the inside. Momo seeing Doflamingo to my mind definitely hints some kind of subliminal influence.
So what do you guys think? Plausible or crackpot theory?
No I like the theory… Who knows what DFla is planning. Maybe he want to get rid of a Yonkou and if he can "control" the smiles army of the Yonkou it would be a huge asset.

That´s exactly what i thought about and wrote in this thread, too. I mean DoFlamingo supplying a possible enemy for the supremacy in the New Age with power just does not seem right and would only make sense, if he is a broker and entrepreneur primarily and only secondarily a pirate which in turn would be disappointing for me. Maybe those fruit users could have the same reaction Momonosuke had a few chapters back, namely a certain term or sentence triggers a hallucination which in turn would make them obey DoFlamingo.
Im loving the Dofla mind control theory here, I hope it happens, but wasnt the fruit that Momo ate a failed one? So it would seem plausible that these new Smiles actually do work perfectly and are awaiting the call.

He may have been affected by poison he ate but it's only adverse affect was making him shit 18(?) hours a day, not death or injury.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I was under the understanding that he was affected (like I said above) by poison he used to flavor his food, which he did not necessarily make with his fruit. I don't think he has been shown having reactions to his own poison. If you have an example I'd be glad to see it.

Yes, BB was talking about the Yami Yami no Mi. It was mentioned when he faced off against Ace, BB explained he joined WB's crew just so he could look for that exact fruit. BB states its different from other logias as one of its ability is to neutralize another DF user's power with just a touch, making the Yami Yami no Mi unique

I'm guessing that its a matter of personal interpetation. In ch 440 "Blackbeard vs Ace", he said he became "the strongest" by eating it, but thats not same as saying the fruit itself is strongest. But here in ch 441 "Duel of Banaro Island" he says its the strongest ability. So its a technacality, sayign the ability is strongest, some will see it as same as saying the fruit is strongest, some others wouldn't.

I just thought of something, might seem farfetched but
When pekoms was fighting caribou, he stated "of course" to whether or not he had a devil fruit ability, maybe this means that all of Big Mam's crew are fruit users? Hinting further to the possibility that Big Mam is the one using SMILE.
CCC's translations are easily far better, but in the recent weeks I've started to read the chapters first at MS again, even if I have to wait a little longer that way. I'm just so tired of MangaPanda's confusing translations constantly messing things up or leaving something out.

I think it's more likely that pekoms is a 'minkman' that we saw on the sabody slave traders list. Same as bepo.

I posted such in a different thread but will do so here. I made a posters showing some of the various known zoans. At top is a pic for the smiles zoans from the chapter. Many of them look more like Pell or Lucci and not like Pekoms, Bopo & the catman from Drakes crew.

Dalton= in human form he has a goatee, in hybrid form a beard and skin darkens, but look closely you'll see his lower jaw does not form the normal muzzle of a bison.

With the new chapters, and intro of Momonosuke, some fans think that those who ate the Smiley DF cannot transform back. They get the idea from Momonosuke is still in dragon form and didn't know he could change back. It has not been made clear if he can or not. It could be just that he's a young child that never met a Zoan and didn't know it’s possible to change.
However fans have used the idea of "zoans that ate a smiley DF can't transform" and ran away with it. There are some who used that idea to think that Pekoms and Bepo got the forms we know them best in= a lion and polar bear that is bi-pedal and can talk.

Oh yes, Pekoms does have a Zoan DF, he can transform into a turtle. They are explaining that as "oh if someone eats a natural DF then they can eat an artificial DF without the usual problem". Again there is no proof.
I suggest taking a good view of top panel of the smiley DF zoans, many of them look like the usual form of having a ‘half-mask’, a few others resemble Dalton and Pell.
The Awakened Zoans= They are huge! They do not have the ‘half-mask’ like other zoans, their face looks like the animal. But look at their midriff. Unlike other zoans, the awakened zoans have a bare midriff.
Neither the awakened zoans or the smiley zoans resemble Pekoms or Bepo. Okay we can’t see either’s midriff but they are not that big, they are about normal human height.

I think that Bepo and Pekoms are a race that has been mentioned but not shown= the Minkmen. I think its just as possible that that a race exists that that is part 'human'/part animal just like Fishmen are part 'human'/part fish. And just as there are different types of Fishmen (shark, octopus,ect) there are different types of Minkmen (lion, polar bear, cat[[there is a cat-man on Hawkins crew]])
