Powerful tits… How to draw them? That's it.
Seven Deadly Sins

God damn, Matrona! More of this woman, please. Let this gaiden last forever
-
Well, next chapter will have Matrona staring and… I, instead, have the feeling she'll die.
--- Update From New Post Merge ---
I wondered about that part when Meliodas talks about being looking for someone. Chap 8, entitled A Young Girl's Dream, doesn't say a word about it. In this gaiden, Meliodas reaction suggest's he could have been looking for Diane, but if it was because of something King told him about her, then it'd have been a bit forced not to pay attention to his size or to his belonging to the giants clan. So I guess he was looking for someone else. Who?
The chapters title make sense, since the Gaiden is entitles: The young girl sees a dream that was never meant to be. The dream ch 8 talks about is for Diane "to be small". It's heavily implied that she wants to be small because he wants to be with Mel. But now we know her true love is King, not Mel. Then, likely, that was a misconceibed dream and the second part of this gaiden will show us how she came to have this misguided dream about being small. I guess Matrona will die in this part, but there should be some third part involved in her dead. And, if so, sure Mel would have to be there somehow.
-
Oh my, Dianes "Heavy Metal" is mighty strong. Sure would have been useful in her encounter with Dreyfus… how in the hell did Nakaba forget about that?
-
My guess is being confirmed about why Meliodas is friendzoning Diane. Just being a bro with King because he must already be aware of his feelings for.
Anyway, good chapter as (almost) always (as long as Dreyfus isn't evolved).
-
As much as I find Diane and King's love story as boring as possible, I loved the twist in this chapter showing that she actually is only attracted by Meliodas because she connected the lingering memories of King to him.
-
I can see.. in my mind.

Who is that woman in Dianes hand? Someone who will appear in the conclusion of Diane Gaiden?

Liz? No possible. No idea…..

As soon as the sins the sins got their energy back they finished him pretty quickly. I doubt he forgot something he introduced in the middle of the tournament.

I'm not sure we're talking about the same thing here, did you confuse Dreyfus with Hendrickson?
-
I wonder what are the rules of the sins.
@Mister:

Yes I did. I would say things gone to fast for her. She just got to laugh her glasius attack and next thing she was pierce to the chest.
-

The thing is that she even didn't use Iron Tits against Matrona; neither Matrona against her. It's not as relevant as haki is in OP or something.
-
Bleach was better than this D: missed the chapter.
-
chapter is out on stream.
! And Matrona was sure a powerhouse, such shame that we will not see her fight agaist the Commandments.
-
Hm, Diane's story doesn't hit as strongly for me as Ban and King before her. The other two felt guilty to some degree; here, the situation clearly isn't her fault. Kind of disappointing really - not much of a dark past.
Also, what are the chances that humans are bad in every Sin's origin story?
-
Agreed with the above, this gaiden was fairly… weak.
I think the reason why Matrona dying and Diane being framed for it feels off is because it doesn't make much sense. Did Matrona, or any of the giants for that matter, have any affiliation with the kingdom of Liones at all? From what I gathered the giants were more like an independent group who anyone could hire as long as they got the money. Why should the kingdom care if Matrona died? What was even the point of framing Diane? They could've just as well said that Matrona died in battle and Diane killed a bunch of soldiers to get her in jail. Or that they were partners in crime.
Other than that it felt weak in its execution, like it didn't really know what direction it wanted to take. It's clear there was a theme of Diane being un-giant-ish with her feelings and stuff, but it was never fully explored. We have Dolores appear and then die offscreen and it doesn't do all that much, even Diane doesn't react that heavily. Then Matrona, who Diane seemingly hated, dies and now it's supposed to be the emotional climax of the story? I'd rather have Dolores be the one who died this chapter. Maybe Diane was much more fond of battle and pep talked Dolores into joining, talking about how she never should let her emotions take over in battle and only care about her own well being. Then Dolores sacrifices herself for Diane or another cause, forcing Diane to realize the importance of emotions and how ignoring them can cost you dearly. And throw in an element that could lead to Diane being seemingly jealous of Dolores, maybe she was the daughter of a famous giant or the mercenaries generally liked her better due to her kind nature.
-
What bothered me is that a poisoned arrow killed Matrona, why didnt any HK of Liones use poisoned arrow to kill Hendricksen?
-
What bothered me is that a poisoned arrow killed Matrona, why didnt any HK of Liones use poisoned arrow to kill Hendricksen?
Smaller and more difficult target? Maybe they didn't care about getting a weapon that can kill dragons while they had powerhouses like Dreyfus and Hendricksen. Or archers just wouldn't get a hit on Hendricksen. A lot of possibilities.
-
While i appreciated the first chapter, this one fell flat. The framing seems kind of stretching it to explain why Diane is the sins of envy and the events move to fast to get a real emotional moment. @LordPerucho:
What bothered me is that a poisoned arrow killed Matrona, why didnt any HK of Liones use poisoned arrow to kill Hendricksen?
They aren't that common? Matron was a planned assassination while Hendricksen became a problem pretty suddenly.
-
Better late than never.
RH version:http://manga.redhawkscans.com/reader/read/the_seven_deadly_sins/en/0/126/2/ -
Yeah, this second chapter was… well... terrible.
-
The better translation made it more enjoyable, but still…
I don't understand how "Killing Matrona will earn a Liones soldier a promotion" and "Matrona, ally of the kingdom" can be in the same chapter.
I will admit though, the scene where Matrona was dying while flicking away soldiers like flies, and all of it culminating in the spike scene, was really well drawn.
-
I wonder if it was necessary to split this gaiden in two chapters.
-
I agree the gaiden is not even half good as the previous ones. Why the giants became with the times a decadent race (I suppose they weren't mercenaries in the Holly War)? It would have been good to know.
Also, Matrona is a week character, in terms of how much she apports to the story; more like only muscles and no brain. Her idea of the clan is that they have to fight because… figthing is good. In her final confession she admits she can't teach Diane anything else than fighthing, and that's all about her (but she's really really well drawn ). In comparison to her, Dolores and Diane are much more interesting because they dislike the decadent condition to be a mercenary even able to kill their own race. So it would have been good to know also why Diane and Dolores think differently.@Zar:

 … plot hole.
-
Guess who is worth enough to get Diane's full power out…
Regular chap.
-
 … plot hole.
Actually it isn't. Gannon's original plan was to make it look like Matrona went on a rampage so he made her destroy part of the landscape before making her jump into that pit.
But yeah, the chapter was awfully boring…
-
Last week's chapter had a lot more weight than this week's and made me eagerly await part two of the gaiden. Which sadly…felt a bit lackluster and so short in comparison. As if it only was there to quickly find a reason for Diane's sin and then end right away.
-
Yeah, this second part of the fb was pretty boring. What a pathetic way for Matrona to go, and in the end Diane didn´t even do or learn anything important. I hope Nakaba can redeem these two chapters by using them as a basis for the upcoming arc that will probably take place at Megadozer
-
yeah, that was pretty bad
Matrona was such a giant bitch that every attempt at making her look sympathetic was laughable, especially last minute like this
also, this dragon killing poison, is there a reason why is hasn't been used more often, especially considering that it killed the strongest giant in like seconds? Is it incredibly rare or something? How come some loser knight can just get it then? You'd think it would have been worth a shot at least when the holy knights were still ordered to kill the sins. -
The things that can save the Gaiden:
Dolores is still alive and is the new leader of the Giants Clan
Gennon was just a puppet and the mastermind was probably Fraudrin/mind-controlled Hendricksen.
-
Dolores must stay dead.
-
Dolores must stay dead.
16 chhhhh of yes!
And fraudrin being behind everything would be really bad plot. Sorry.
-
Dolores must stay dead.
You know she is now taller, slimmer, crazy strong and evil.
Dont try to fight shonen logic :P
-
You know she is now taller, slimmer, crazy strong and evil.
Still bad. :p
It's not about the visual desing, but about the plot… But I like chubby girls.

Spoiler of ch 127, thanks to FKS from redhawk at MH:
! Back to the main story!
! Original link: http://hello.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/wcomic/1429974088/830
! And the translation:
! "Reunion with despair"
! The troop, bareriding on Hawk Mama, goes after Diane.
Merlin preserves her magic for the demonic presences on the way, this is why she hasn't used her teleportation spell.
! Meanwhile,
Fraudrin questions whether Galan has really delivered the final blow, and the latter makes his sortie again.
Another Ten Commandment, Monspeet [tentative name] goes off Edinburgh as well.
! Diane encounters Galan.
She shivers at the feeling of a threat in her back, and just when she tries to rush ahead at once without looking back,
Monspeet's standing in front of her.
The catching-up Galan lands a hit on Diane's abdomen, and Monspeet's going to swallow her soul.
Just before that, a spear comes out of the earth, sending Monspeet flying.
Feeling something, Galan jumps back, and it rains stones on him
and he instantly gets squashed in a spheric shape.
! The one helping Diane out of her predicament is…
End text: An inebranlable fighting spirit!! A burning up will to fight!! The proud warrior chief enters!!
She has met her worst enemy!! Their chance meeting spells despair!! And the sudden appearance of an old fellow!! Their reunion sprouts hope!!
In next issue, 3 color pages and a grand 22 pages!! Moreover, there'll be "The Seven Deadly Sins Divination" as well!! -
! Seems like Escanor makes a flashy entrance
-
! Giants!?! I was more expecting Escanor to be the one Melio was looking for when he met Diane and would show up now… So Dolores as new clan leader or something?

! YES! YES! Matrona survived, Thank God! I knew she was way too strong of a character to kill off with a measley poison arrow..ehehehe
! I also love that Matrona has only just reappeared since the flashback, yet that last triumphant panel of her speaks volumes about her complete change in personality and beliefs.
! In the first part of Diane's flashback, Matrona severely berates Diane for wearing human-like clothing, as it's an insult to the proud Giant's Clan:
! [hide][/hide]
! Yet now Matrona is totally rockin' the Black Leather/Biker Chick outfit with the most relaxed, nonchalant smile on her face…and it looks soooo good on her.

! Matrona-Sama~~<3 <3 <3Same feeling here. She's a cool character. Though not sure she's Matrona. Couldn't she be Dolores, as Baldulf suggested: the slim, muscular version? The expression is different, we saw Matrona dying, but Diane was only told by Matrona about Dolores' death. Or maybe I'm seeing things.
-
i actually though the one that wasn't really dead was the other friend of her instead of matrona

There´s no way that is Dolores, unless she magically attained Matronas scars, eyes, brows and overall proportions.
The giant in this chapter even sports a slightly longer version of Matronas haircut -
Galan is the most sexy demon.

Yes, she's Matrona. The scars prove it.

Now I'm wondering whether that weak flashback was intended to be short and, well, weak in order to create a nice set-up… weird choice it would be.

From now on I will imagine Monspiet having a french accent.

Yeah, I thought that too about Dolores, and I think it can still happen.
But there´s currently a meme going on that revolves around people believing that Dolores turned herself into a Matrona clone somehow, and I didn´t want that to spread.A whole Matrona collection. You, sir, have my gratitude.
