second episode of OPPDallas is up and this time it goes over the process of making the cover art for their dvd sets. Pretty interesting stuff to me, mostly because I wasn't really sure how much both toei and funimation was involved in making the cover art.

Amazon just notified me I won't be getting my set until October 13th. The hell happened?
I get mine from Amazon and yesterday they charged my card, which usually means its at least being prepped for shipment. I got a delivery estimate of the 7th or 8th. But no tracking number yet. Has your card been charged, Steve? If so, then I can't help but wonder if maybe I just haven't received notification that I will get mine in Oct, too.

I'm not sure we should look at it that way. This doesn't sound like a season six situation. Something has interfered at a different level. Most likely the distribution level. I think the others will still have their original release date, especially if Raffy's information turns out to be true.
Amazon has charged my card for voyage two. Amazon doesnt charge until the product is about to be shipped. Ergo, I should be getting mine soon. They gave me.a delivery date of the 7th or 8th. It's difficult to say what's going on from all the conflicting evidence. At the least, I will make a post when I get a tracking number from amazon or other confirmation that it has shipped.
I'm going to be very pissed if this delays future voyages. It better not.

They technically did that with Season 6 voyages 1 and 2 (the first voyage only had a special release through Amazon, but everywhere else got the 2 voyages at the same time). I don't think they'd delay the other release date just because something went wrong with this one.
The fact that Funimation quite literally advertised the release for One Piece season 7 voyage 2 on Facebook, only 2 days ago, leads me to believe that this delay wasn't intentional. The fact that the episodes were put on Funimations streaming website, only adds more evidence to this case.
This was clearly a problem at the distribution level.

Funny how the artist stated how she really enjoyed working on the first Voyage for Season one of Thriller Bark because the cover was lifted straight from Oda's manga cover.
Wow it's nice to see the process and thoughts from the designers. A lot of love into the covers but it just seems that Toei do most of the hard work. It surprises me how Toei doesn't just do it start to finish but yeah it works.
The early season covers don't match the character design represented early in the show, but the design is catching up now and looks on par. All the covers look great except a few.
Per an email I received from Amazon, my copy has shipped and I have a tracking number.
Rightstuf now says it's out of stock. The fact that Elan got his and everyone else on here so far hasn't clearly shows that an issue happened with distribution where not nearly enough copies were sent out but only a handful. And they're saying it's going to be delayed an entire month if not longer? This is bullshit and there's really no excuse for it. But I guess there's nothing we can do since we all want the set regardless. At least I know it's not a Rightstuf issue…

The point is that these types of distribution issues should be double or triple checked weeks beforehand and not during the week of release. And if there is an understandable freak disaster like a fire (which I highly doubt but you never know), they could at least get in touch with the people with reserved orders (or rather FUNimation getting in touch with the retailers) so we at least know what is going on and aren't left in the dark. And I don't know about any others but I've had my order preordered on Rightstuf since May or June or something.

They only charge when it ships. No worries.
I had canceled with them and bought through Amazon, oh well. I have elite so it doesn't bother me much to not have the discs. Will just have to wait on Amazon.

Just figured I'd chime in too. I pre-ordered mine with Amazon on August 6th. As of this evening, my credit card's being charged, and I got the shipping notice saying it's on its way. Per the tracking, my package is at the mail carrier in Ft. Worth, Texas. Should be here next Wednesday (thanks to Labor Day, though I'm happy enough having the day off from work that I'll accept the delay).
That said, while I've been anxious to get and watch these episodes, I've had Pirate Warriors 3 to play in the meantime, so I've been okay.

Theme song is the worst for spoilers, though. My girlfriend caught that Luffy was in a prison in it, so she went through the last few episodes assuming they were going to get caught. Would've preferred for her not to know about the prison at all.
