I know I usually don't have a whole lot of nice things to say about Thriller Bark, but I am actually looking forward to these next two sets. My second favorite Shichibukai get's introduced in this set and one of my favorite episodes is in the next one. I just wish Voyage 4 had a date.

Can't believe the next set doesn't even have a release date yet.

Not sure what's going on with OP's release schedule (maybe its sales… or lack of sales) but out of all the series they have, OP is the one that needs to get a move on the most. We're still so behind.
I mean, shit, FT is already at the point where the first anime ends. What's taking OP so long then?

They've released nearly the same amount of episodes for both series for the entirety of both of their consecutive runs.
164 for Fairy Tail, and 166 for One Piece.
Relax… One Piece is fine.
-
I just hate how OP, in physical stores (what little anime is STILL being sold in stores), just isn't being kept in stock. When Best Buy actually got Season 6 V1 & V2, I had originally thought about just getting one set at a time. However, I have 2 Best Buys where I'm at…and only 1 store had a single copy of each set. So I just bought both at the same time. Around a couple days later when I tagged along to Best Buy again w/ a friend, OP was no longer being stocked. It was already removed from their systems. That's just a huge WTF, considering FT, Naruto, etc. continue to keep their current and not-so-current releases in stock for a damn good while.

Again, probably sales. I'm convinced FT has long passed OP in sales. And we all know Naruto blows it away.
Reasons like this is why I wish the series was more popular here. It is pretty important.

Still feels kinda weird that even though one of the stores was only given a single copy of each voyage. You'd think that those 2 getting picked up on the same day they arrived would at least NOT discontinue said sets from the store in barely a week. I mean, I know I'm just a single buyer, but if there was a single product in a store, and it "sold out" that very day, you'd think the store would, at the very least, stock an extra couple of copies. Hell, Collection 10 of OP stayed on shelves longer than S6 V1 & V2. But that's just me.

This is not really a fair comparison. Fairy Tail is much shorter than One Piece is; of course they would have caught up in Fairy Tail more easily.
Besides if we compare Fairy Tail’s releases with One Piece’s releases we can see that Funimation has not only released more episodes of One Piece than Fairy Tail since Fairy Tail started being released (as Galaxy pointed out) but they also released more episodes of One Piece in its first three release years then Fairy Tail has in its entire three years. From the point Season One First Voyage was released (May 2008) to the same date 3 years later (May 2011) One Piece had released 205 episodes. I’d say that’s a good bit more than the 153 Fairy Tail released in three years (since the last Fairy Tail release came out in December I’m not counting it, since Part 1’s three year anniversary was in November). Heck, even if I did count it, Funimation still dubbed more of One Piece in a similar time period. Point is, Funimation have been releasing Fairy Tail at a similar rate as One Piece. Of course, Fairy Tail probably won’t have the disadvantage of a long break like One Piece had after season three, but with them catching up to Japanese Fairy Tail soon those releases will probably slow down.
-
So can we expect them solicits sometime this week and with Fairy Tail getting very close to Japan, maybe now they can start focusing more on One piece

We can indeed, they're usually released around the middle of the month. It would be nice to see the final One Piece set on the April solicits and I'd personally want the Steins Gate Film as well. Aside from Ben-To there aren't really many animes I'd consider buying this winter.

I am hoping for a march release or a sudden febuary possibility + the last fairy tail box from the first season.
But what i am asking myself the most…
When the anouncement for season 7 comes and a release date.Probably FUNI is also working (Harder) for the second season of FT sadly...
btw is there a european trailer for voyage 4?

There is zero word on Voyage 4 and things are going to be real alarming if there is no release plans for April and Fairy Tail gets another release in April. One Piece should be the one getting multiple releases since we are very very far behind Japan like almost more than 300 eps behind while Fairy Tail could possibly catch up to Japan by the end of the year.
-
I still think OPs track record on scheduled release dates is… rather odd. Now it's happening during the middle of a season.
-
I that they are taking there time to make it good. Theresa said it is all Toei's fault.

What does Fairy Tail have to do with One Piece’s releases? I’m pretty sure Funimation is capable of dubbing both series at the same time. The fact that they have released a similar number of One Piece episodes as they have Fairy Tail episodes since Fary Tail began being released (as was earlier pointed out) is proof of that. One Piece is one of many shows they are dubbing; they’re not going to shift all their focus to One Piece, nor is all their focus on Fairy Tail.
And stop talking about how Fairy Tail is closer to catching up; One Piece is almost 700 episodes at this point, Fairy Tail is only in the early 200s, OF COURSE THEY WILL CATCH UP TO FAIRY TAIL SOONER! When One Piece started being dubbed there were already over 300 episodes of One Piece, and since they had to redub the first two seasons they, of course, fell behind. Fairy Tail didn’t even have 100 episodes out when it was first licensed, so it was much easier to catch up to. Outside of the breaks after season 3 and season 5 both series have been releasing at a similar pace (in that they’ve released a similar amount of episodes in a similar time frame); One Piece is just longer so of course it will take longer.
There are a lot of factors that go into dubbing (working on the schedules of not only the writers and directors but the many actors as well), so it’s not like they can just speed it up the same way Viz did for the manga. They are dubbing other series as well, not just Fairy Tail. They’re not going to drop everything just to speed up One Piece, especially if it’s not their most popular show (and even if it was they probably still wouldn’t do that). We should really stop trying to make this a competition between Fairy Tail and One Piece.

So in other words f**king 4Kids and possibly Toei screwed us in the end (when it comes to not being behind… and it's success as well)
If it wasn't for them, FUNimation would've gotten the series first and possibly be way more caught up to the Japanese version. I'm happy they saved the license in the end, but due to 4Kids f**king everything up (including it's popularity, which still haunts it to this day) FUNi had to go back and redub everything... which I'm glad they did, but made us stay even more behind. Then of course there were the breaks that didn't help any.
And for a series as long as OP... these setbacks really weren't needed...

Yes, but it’s hard to say if the series would have really taken off here even if 4kids were never involved. I assume things would be better, but One Piece still might not have been that popular. And Toei, from what I can tell, can be a pain to work with in regards to releasing one of their series.
One Piece in general has had some bad luck in the past; the awful 4kids dub, the original cancellation from Toonami (they cancelled the show before Toonami's initial end), the accidental leak of the simulcast episode before its Japanese release. The fact that this series is at the place it’s at right now (back on Toonami with a successful simulcast and with almost 400 episodes and 3 movies released) is already astounding; many assumed it was destined to fail.
I know it’s frustrating that we still have a ways to go and that the series isn’t more popular, but considering all the crap One Piece has been through I’m glad it is even at this point. Not entirely sure why they’re holding up this final voyage of season 6, but hopefully it will have an April release.

Wow someone needs a chill pill, it just seems Fairy Tail have more frequent releases than One Piece does, after the drought we had in 2014 and with another one starting off already, can you blame me for being upset

Hmm weird. I just got my dvd. The art that's usually at the top of the DVD menu is missing.

You’re the one who threw a fit because another series is doing better than yours; if anything, you need to chill. I’ve already explained that, as a whole, One Piece has released the same amount of episodes as Fairy Tail has since it began at this point and how One Piece released more episodes in its first three years than Fairy Tail has in its.
Also, if we’re looking at 2014, Fairy Tail released 80 episodes on a more consistent basis; One Piece released 60 episodes (12 were only available through Funimation’s website, but still available), two collection sets, and a movie, despite there being a gap between releases. All in all, I’d say that’s pretty good.
I’m stating facts here; you’re the one getting angry because another series is “beating” yours.

I have no gripes with Fairy Tail, hell because of these droughts i decided to give it a shot and i am hooked looking forward to the March 10th release, it just looked to me in my opinion one series is being favored more than the other

Are you living under a rock?
Fairy tail is the most populair show funi has at the moment.
The voice actors are almost the same ,so yeah FT releases/dubbing does matter…
If this keeps going were literally screwed (bad language srry) on boxsets for One Piece. -

If this keeps going were literally screwed (bad language srry) on boxsets for One Piece. Why exactly can't Funimation dub more than one show at once, like they have been doing? And if we're really getting screwed over please explain why we have gotten a similar amount of episodes in a similar time period as Fairy Tail? And when Fairy Tail does catch up to the Japanese Fairy Tail release and slows down why would it majorly affect the releases of One Piece? If the voice actors are “almost the same” how come only two of the main characters from Fairy Tail share the same voice actors as the main characters from One Piece? For that matter, are voice actors only capable of doing voice work on one show at a time? And why would a series not released by Toei affect whether or not Toei allows more episodes of One Piece to be licensed? I don’t see how Fairy Tail alone is causing all these problems for One Piece, especially when Funimation have many people working on many different shows.

If this keeps going were literally screwed (bad language srry) on boxsets for One Piece.Eh… Id say that title goes to either ATTACK ON TITAN or DBZ. FAIRY TAIL is without a doubt outselling ONE PIECE now, though. Im sure OP does ok, but not to the level of the above shows. Which kinda sucks, because popularity DOES affect things. For instance, "THE LAST: NARUTO THE MOVIE" is coming out in US theaters in February, a mere few months after it's release in Japan. I'm sure if OP was to release a new movie, we'd probably have to wait years for it to be dubbed, and never mind a theatrical release.

Only subttitles. Well that kinda blows. Still, it'll probably be released in DVD/Blu Ray about the same as Japan.

Seriously... a Devil is Part Timer? Beating DBZ, FT and OP? Wow.

Fairy Tail was only number ten on their list this year. I mean One Piece didn't make top ten, but Fairy Tail is pretty close to being kicked out of the top ten spot too.
Also what's wrong with The Devil is a Part Timer. It's an amazing anime.

I for one love a Devil is a Part-Timer. Fantastic anime.
Still, its odd too see it outsell the popular shonen.

@Galaxy:
There are a lot of good shows on that list too. Steins Gate was amazing, I soooo can't wait to see the film. Cowboy Bebop is a classic so no surprise there and Battle of the Gods was a very fun film if nothing else. Psycho Pass is very good, and the film coming out this month looks gorgeous. Ironically Fairy Tail is the only series on that list that I view as crap.

I saw around. 52 or 53 episodes of Fairy Tail. I kept expecting it to get better, like One Piece does at Arlong Park, but if anything Fairy Tail only got worse, IMO.
Nearly every villain is a total bro by the end of a story arc, nearly all the female characters are practically naked at one point each arc, Lucy's summons looked stupid, and I never could really bond or relate to any of the characters.

Yeah Fairy Tail does have a bad habit of turning many villains into heroes lol and of course there is going to be fan service, hell there was an entire episode dedicated to it Ep. 163

So Fairy Tail ranks in number 1
Yeah some time ago.
I should have said of the bigger shows Funi has Fairy Tail is way on top.
Sorry about that.

Good DayI’m wrong because…why?
Am I wrong because I said Funimation can dub more than one show at once? Clearly they can because they’ve released many different shows and have used many of the same actors on many of these shows.
Am I wrong because I said One Piece has released a similar amount to Fairy Tail since Fairy Tail first started being released? A simple search will show that One Piece has had 167 episodes, 8 collection sets, 2 movies, and a 100-episode collection set since Fairy Tail began its English release. Fairy Tail has, up to now, released 164 episodes, 3 collection sets, and 1 movie. Clearly One Piece has, currently, had more released since Fairy Tail started than Fairy Tail itself, despite being less popular.
If you’re going to tell me I’m wrong could you back it up with some ACTUAL evidence, not just “watch the interviews and commentaries”, which I have. Just because Fairy Tail is more popular doesn’t mean it’s preventing One Piece from being released (especially since the releases of the two up to now don’t prove it). Just because they’re not going to dub all the remaining episodes of One Piece as fast as possible doesn’t mean Fairy Tail is directly to blame or taking MAJOR precedent over it. Funimation aren’t going to drop everything to finish One Piece, they would just continue to dub it at a steady pace while also working on other projects.

Why do I have the sneaking suspicion that this secrecy over the Voyage 4 release date will have something to do with some difficulty in obtaining the rights to the next theme song?
