I think Ryuma sounds pretty different from Brook. It still sounds like Ian Sinclair doing the voice, but that's to be expected for obvious reasons. You could still tell that Cho was voicing both Brook and Ryuma in the original even though they sounded different. You can only contort your voice to so much of a degree in order to make it sound like something else.

Voyage 1's 9/30/14 Release date was an Amazon exclusive. If you order it through RightStuf it will come out the same day as Voyage 2's release date.

I always thought the DogPenguin Zombie sounded like a drunk version of Sanji in the dub, I recall the Japanese version sounded kinda like Sanji but something was "off".

Since the thread seems to be dead for the moment how much do you think the box art for the voyages will change if it all per season? And what changes would be a vast improvement compared to what we have now?

So um… Noticed something odd about the FUNimation stream of Episode 207:
Appparently the 720p stream has Mirai Koukai, but if you watch it in SD or buffer into, it'll be the ending after.

Crunchyroll wasn't able to get them either (and their HD streams are even more recent than the ones on FUNI's website).

It wouldn't be the first time Funimation got the rights to an opening/closing and Crunchyroll didn't. Funi got the rights to the We Are remix and Share the World, but Crunchyroll didn't. Instead, they used Jungle P on into Sabaody, and potentially even further (I only checked through the end of Sabaody).

The TV japan channel was also able to get that ending, with FUNimation's subs. The whole situation is just messed up and odd.

I have an Elite Membership (for now) and just checked Episode 380 and it does have "We Are (Remix)" as the opening so it seems the opening rights clearance is on Crunchyroll's end this time around. This is what happens when you have a licensor (Toei) put out different contracts for the same show.

Love the new box art. It pretty much confirms my theory that it will probably be the first 4 collections packages in a collectors box. Well, with the change at least we don't have to worry about the second set saying Zolo anymore.

That seems like a pretty good incentive to buy this release. I own all the voyages to date as well as all the collections so I will probably buy this new set as well for all the bonus stuff.

Well, the box set looks cool and it's definitely something one of my friends would likely be incentivized to pick up his purchase rate. What I don't like…extra features that were NOT on previous releases. Call me w/e you will, but I've always hated the business practice of giving the "patient ones" rewards like that (note: the collections and price drops are fine by me, THAT makes sense), especially w/ a show that needed all the support it could get while it was first being released. This just gives me bad ADV flashbacks. Way back, buy the single volumes, you get extra features like commentaries and featurettes...wait for the box set, those are stripped away w/ nothing but clean openings/closings (proper reward and consequence). Then before they became Sentai Filmworks, they start JUST keeping the regular DVDs (extras and all) in the box sets (reward and consequence go out the window). Funimation has been great w/ always keeping features, but to add extra ones...to a set of 100+ eps? I love OP, but I'm not double dipping (I get paranoid enough buying these huge mutli-DVD sets). If anything, I look forward to what these extras are and hope they're not total ball busters for those who skip out. It'd be like if they decided to release exclusive extras for one of their SAVE or Anime Classics editions rather than on the initial release...that's just not a good practice IMO. Sorry for the rant. ^^;

Hmmm, unless they add uniques special features (amazon just lists special features from existing collections/voyages) I think I'm going to pass. I own five of the first eight collections, and the rest on voyages, so these just wouldn't be worth it. Great deal though!
Also there are two separate reviews on amazon saying it's great and that they should do this for Bleach and Naruto.

It'd be nice if they went back and finally made some small adjustments to the dub here and there, or any mistakes that were made in the episode titles or script.
I wonder if this release eventually will restore Mirai Koukai.

People who ordered One Piece, Season 6 - Voyage 1 on RightStuf will be happy to know that it is now being Reserved for your orders. Season 6 - Voyage 2 though is still On Order and most likely may be a week or more before that one is reserved. It is not surprising that Voyage 1 is Reserved this early though since it has been available through Amazon for over a month.

It appears as if FUNi is translating the episode titles more closely to the original now, especially in regards to their formerly errant overuse of exclamation marks. I wonder if this has something to do with their new Japanese translator?

You're pretty lucky, you must be one of the first few people in the US to see these episode dubbed first. If you have already got your copy, that must mean RightStuf can't be too far behind. I hope they got it in today and it will update as Reserved tonight.

I believe he does have some lines in the next arc. Could be wrong.
Part of me is disappointed that Mike McFarland has never addressed in a commentary the lack of closing credits in One Piece now. They used to have a nice window to say goodbyes, but now it's just OMG THERE'S THE PREVIEW hurry and finish!!

Naruto still has more mainstream appeal in the States, it's likely just seen as being more worth the extra trouble.

Also, I'm pretty sure that Naruto is further along in the dubbing process than One Piece is, so it makes it easier for them to adapt more recent games. Most One Piece games have a lot of new characters who haven't been given official dub voices.
