The redrawn version is there to make money. It is the antithesis of the original. All glamour and no substance. That is why it is so disappointing.

I wouldn’t have minded until he called my opinion shit. I think it is reasonably fair to dislike the direction the redraw has gone compared to what it is based on.
I mean its an adaptation/ new take on a story. That tends to invite comparison.
There's a difference between comparisons and constant complaining about the redrawn version pretty much being the only conversation to follow the release of a new chapter. Especially when those complaints handwave away the fact that One is involved in the process.

And that's fair statements to make (both you being irritated by it ince that was definitely an unfair thing to say about how you feel about the series and disliking the direction of the redrawn version) but, again, it's not something that has to be said every time. At a certain point, people who do like it get tired of the negativity and just check to see if a new chapter is out with no real other discussion taking place. I know I'm basically at that point with this thread.
I've seen several people lately complain about the presentation of a particular event in the redraw somehow being less impressive or epic than the original, check to see what the original was since I couldn't remember it, and it only be a single panel in the webcomic with no real buildup or lasting impact to me. Fang vs. the Monster Executives for instance.
I do agree with your take on this, but it’s like One Piece turned into Bleach. Why wouldn’t I be upset? The real comparison isn’t that harsh, but OPM was created to make fun of what it had become. At least that’s how I feel.
The Naruto, Bleach and Fairy Tail threads were fun back in the day because people actually put some effort in their criticism sometimes even making memes. This thread is just about how the original is so much better and hyperbole like saying that the redrawn version is at the level of Bleach. Boring.
One Piece is already part way into Bleach territory as it is, lol.
It's not like OPM and OPMR are somehow fused. Separate works with separate storylines. I get the impression some of you just want OPM with better graphics. And while that's ok, pointing the differences week after week serves little purpose. Especially since it's the original author "shitting on his own work".

Loved the chapter and talk between Garou and Saitama! For all his thick-headedness, Saitama gets him more than any of the other heroes do.

That one puzzled me, actually, I don't quite grasp the parallel. Am I maybe missing part of the perspective ?

Yep, King just wants to be left alone but gets to be taken as a hero whereas Garou wants to be a monster but commits acts that definitely are heroic if you don't witness the hero hunting stuff. And this cjapter cranked it up to eleven. That part with the volcano was comedy gold. I felt like "this dude just isn't getting out of this anymore!". Much like King.
It has been thoroughly pointed out that Redraw Garou is different than Original Garou, so really leaning into the comedy here and not even pretending he's actually evil is a great choice. Plus you get more of Saitama lampshading the whole thing, which is always good.
So Murata is drawing a parody of a parody manga now.
How so? I'd say this is pretty in line with the webcomics comedic sensibilities, and is making much the same points. Its just going about it in a slightly new way.

Watching Garou going full Darkstalker with his costume makes me wish Murata had the opportunity to evoke more terror aesthetic into his works…
That art cover would've fitted better if this went the way the webcomic did. Chapter was still funny to read. Seeing Saitama troll Garou was hilarious.
Its interesting to see Saitama take a more active heroic/empathetic role and not just monster destroyer.
The chapter was awesome, I really like Saitama vs Garou battle so far.
To be honest, I thought edgelord Garou is cool in the webcomic after the first read…
But as time goes on, I started to like this version of him much more.
After all, he is a 18 year old, his "idea" of the ultimate evil really is in sync with the look he has now.
A "cool monster" who will crush the heroes with its superior might.
I'm cracking up. Garo wants to be the big bad villain so badly but does more good than harm

I really loved the chapter.
Yes, it is not the same as the webcomic, but Murata's version of this fight is more tune with the original personality of Garou.
He had an idea about the "cool evil monster", which is useless against Saitama strenght.
I also enjoyed the part with Blast as well.

I dont think we got to see him crossing Power speed and technique before. That would have been a cool convention for the fight.
I continue to be interested in seeing Saitama in such a proactive role when it comes to Garou instead of simple monster destroyer which is his usual MO.

The wikia also treats him as dead, but I just reread the fight and it's not clear at all. Given that he fully regenerated his body once already I assume he could have done it again?

It could just be someone else from his species. Although it does look like Blast is in another dimension.
I got a kick out of Saitama and Garou's fight being so intense that's it ripping dimensions apart, but I am bummed we didn't get the part of the fight where Garou is flipped upside down and jumps into the ground. That was my favourite part of the webcomic fight.
There was also Beast King, so likely alternate versions of them. Unless there's someone who goes reviving strong characters that Saitama kills to give them a second chance.
Edit: Though Boros seems to know who did it while Beast King doesn't. Could be a nod to the house of evolution producing an actual, highly evolved specimen that exist elsewhere.

i agree with the sentiment that boros being alive after finally getting what he wanted and fighting all out to the death is a bit meh, but i was excited to see him.

Although I am not a fan of the last 40% of the redraw, I am actually a fan of the last few pages. I wanted Garou to be a lot more intimidating than what he was, but I also was looking forward to when he realized it was all futile. This last panel is actually something I wanted from the the webcomic. I originally wanted closure to his insane crusade that he never actually thought through.
Complicating things since 2009.
So Blast is somehow recruiting strong individuals, most of which seem to be former opponents to Saitama? Neat.
Beast King is the lion head guy who attacked Saitama's appartment with the gorilla and some other fodders. Saitama killed him quickly, but he was probably extremely strong (and had better attitude than Carnage Kabuto, so more useful in a group).
Nope, the webcomic was much better, perfect even, IMO. I can confirm that now. Ruined for me. Cool to see Blast and what he's doing, but not right now, not at this point in the arc. It has nothing to do with Garou or the Monster Association, it's just distracting (also I hate character ressurecting, so I hope that wasn't Boros…). And Garou became a complete joke with the last panel. And I don't like his design, looks like your classic monster/demon clichè... fight was too short and Garou transformed way too quickly. And no serious table flip... I can't be more disappointed. I already was with Golden S and Platinum S, but now I really can't wait for this arc to be just over.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed all of the changes and even redraws (some minor annoyances though). I treat the webcomic and manga as separate entities.
My prediction is for a short talk with Saitama that’s interrupted by the S Class Heroes. If the few still have steam

To be fair, the dude already took part in causing a massive tsunami, destroyed a volcano, changed the surface of the Earth and may have resurfaced Atlantis or something on the opposite side of the globe. What more do you expect of him?
Loved the chapter by the way. Garou progressively crossing out various means of agression from his list until he folds into despair is very appropriate. Looking forward to the short talk.
