Ahaha. That's amazing. I introduced a friend to the series over Thanksgiving break and he's addicted to the show and has bought physical copies of the manga.

OPM is now number 1 tv show on IMDB with more that 5000 votes. Beating Breaking Bad and GoT.
This is hilarious.
Keep in mind that each of those shows has over a hundred times as many people rating them as One Punch Man with Game of Thrones coming close to 150 times as many.
-
Right now it's number 22. That's the problem with having a small amount of votes, averages can change wildly.

No, i'm talking about on the 5000 votes or more page.
number one. http://www.imdb.com/search/title?num_votes=5000,&sort=user_rating,desc&title_type=tv_series

With 28 reviews and 6700 votes, as opposed to Breaking Bad's 800+ reviews and 780k votes coming in second.
I think the point stands, you can't really make a fair comparison with such a small base count.

Animation of Boros vs Saitama was incredible.
In general todays episode was movie quality thing..
Just wow.
-
Stream just ended. Incredible. I need to rewatch it in HD ASAP.
This WAS one of the best-animated fights in a long time.
Alright. Rewatched in sub. Where do you even start with this?
The Saitama vs. Boros fight was excellence from start to finish. I can't even pick a standout moment. It's just one of the best animated fights in a long time. 12 minutes of the animators going all out.
I also really love how they bookended the whole thing, particularly the wrap-up before the ending and the post-credits scene.
Would I consider the series as a whole one of my top favorites? It's up there, but there's still the set-up episodes and focus on the more minor characters that I'd criticize to some extent.
-
a very good first season. the saitama vs boros fight was awesome as expected. let's hope theres a second season.
-
That ending. The Fight. The animation. The Glory of it all. Saitama.
Magnificent.
-
I laughed in the multi-hit punches part. Heh, one punch my ass.
I don't remember the giant pig part.
-
They sure delivered, not only Saitama x Boros, but the other S-classes were very cool, Engine Knight's voice was nice too, Tasumaki, Genos and Saitama at the end was hilarious as well.
It's sad that now we will have to wait till don't know when.
-
Oh, so they decided to introduce (and end) the king of underworld? Then we got subterranean king, sea king, sky king and underworld king.
Also, it was awesome. Splendid animation.
Now we can just wait for the OVAs until the second season can even be announced…
-
There's also the prehistoric/dinosaur king that Tatsumaki defeated. I guess the underworld king was a nice way to keep Saitama as "One-Punch Man" for next season since he's back to oneshoting everything.
-
… to onepunching everyone. Damn it!
-
So, there was like an entire chapter or arc dedictated to Underworld King or something?
-
Shouldn't Sweet Mask be more pissed at S-heroes that were there but didn't even bother to fight the aliens and leave the area?
Amazing episode. -
This was incredible. Something like a 100/10.
-
So now the question is: Does Saitama v Boros trump Meruem v Netero as one of the best fights in anime history?
Do tell if i'm forgetting some other insanely well animated absurdly good memorable fight in anime history. Personally, i can't think of any at this level.
-

Seems like it's how El-Matematico said, it was a "filler" added for the sake of maintaining Saitama as the OPM.
Shouldn't Sweet Mask be more pissed at S-heroes that were there but didn't even bother to fight the aliens and leave the area?
I think Sweet Mask is pissed at everyone, because he's basically all media and his image would be affected negatively by this incident since he's also a hero.
-
so good…So good...SO GOOD. I wanted more...
-
So, there was like an entire chapter or arc dedictated to Underworld King or something?
No he was anime filler.
-
If this lives up to my hyper-inflated expectations even halfway though, imma go crazy. If this lives up to my expactations all the way, you may have to send help, because I'll be on the floor, unconcious, with foam in my mouth.
Send he-WGHZHHHHHHFGDGHDTHHDDAWUINGCDFHVSSD
-
So, there was like an entire chapter or arc dedictated to Underworld King or something?
No but it wouldn't surprise me if there was an off-hand reference that it was based on like with the Ancient King Tatsumaki killed.
-
Everything was superb. Strangely my favorite bits were the moon and the sudden silence along with Boros's face of wtf when he returned. Saitama walking backwards ultra fast. Saitama getting Genos trashed by Tatsumaki lmao.
-
How can I get mad at Tatsumaki if she is so adorable?
Also, Top Tank Master's back was really a disgusting sight. It looked like a mass of tumors instead of a bulk mass of manliness.

You just don't understand. The muscles could grow to such an extent due to the natural versatility and freedom of movement allowed by a tank top.

This is one of the best anime I've ever seen (tho, I don't see much anime). But since an important part of the story is the slice of life moments of Saitama, (which we have here and there and gives a pretty nice portrait of Saitama along the manga), don't you think the anime is lacking in that part? I only remember one scene in the first chapters, iirc.
-
I usually take comments about anime quality with a grain of salt, but damn you were all right. This episode was absolutely ridiculous, even compared to the amazing previous episodes. Definitely something worth my support, got to check out when they release the Blueray.

I think many of those moments come from side stories in the manga adaptation, so maybe they'll animate some of them in the OVAs.
-
"Consecutive Normal Punches."
A great final episode, I can't wait for Season 2.

That'd be nice. …..........
-
Man, I died when Saitama accidentally ripped off Genos's arm at the end there. They just had to find a way to end the arc with him getting wrecked somehow, didn't they?
This fight (and it can actually be called one, kinda) didn't have the emotional base that the climax of the Sea King arc had, but damn was that a feast for the eyes. I'm glad that sakugabooru crashed (likely 'cause of this episode, I bet) so that I wasn't tempted to spoil myself on it before watching the episode in full. So much sequel teasing though.
-
So now the question is: Does Saitama v Boros trump Meruem v Netero as one of the best fights in anime history?
Not if you start listing theatrical anime into the mix.
As far as TV animation goes though, it's definitely up there among the bests.
I wish Dragon Ball Super could have just one episode like this. -
If you wanna talk about a season finale as visually bombastic as One Punch Man, Space Dandy is a recent example.
Which makes sense, because OPM anime was made mostly by the people who previously worked on Space Dandy.
And good lawd, whole Meteoric Burst scene is straight up GODLIKE.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Shouldn't Sweet Mask be more pissed at S-heroes that were there but didn't even bother to fight the aliens and leave the area?
Amazing episode.Handsomely Masked Sweet Mask is a shitlord.
The shade he is throwing on others isn't supposed to be sensible or well-founded.

The anime version is doing a great work with the action scenes but most of the jokes are lost in translation.
I think the series is a comedy (or a parody if you like) before anything else and the anime doesnt have great comic sense. They follow the original to the letter in most cases but humor has a timing and a rhythm just like action and the anime simply doesnt have it.
While the series is overall good and its a great thing to spread One Punch Man's word among non believers I dont know how they'll manage in the Garou arc where there are a lot of episodes without fights. So far they have adapting the "easy part" the one with the villain of the week mechanic but that is already over and I fear they would butcher the next season.
-
Yeah, I agree with you.
They managed to get right the action, drama and suspense of the series (the Licenceless Rider fight against Sea King was superb), but the humor is really lacking. I think they only got it right at Sonic's fight and some interactions with Tatsumaki. They even somehow messed up at one of the most hilarious moments which is with Armored Gorilla. After Boros, we'll have moments with King, Fubuki and Sonic, even before the start of the Garou arc, and those moments are comical.
The anime is a great adaptation, but they really need to correct those mistakes.

From ONE's twitter for final episode.
Translation/typeset by Aitaikimochi.

Speaking of twitter…
"Thanks for watching the final episode of One Punch Man!
Please look forward to seeing Saitama and co animated on TV some day again!"Also,
Nico-nama airing of One Punch Man had the VA of Saitama say "we'll see you again around this time next year!" as Saitama sock puppet.Nothing set in stone, but enough to get pumped.
There will only be 5 volumes of material by next time this year at the current pace, so Murata will have to pick up in speed.
I could see adapting 6 volumes into 12 episodes. -
If that happens, 2016 will really be the Golden Year Of Anime.
-
Welp… consider me hyped.
-
I will say this.
This anime and animation team is and have done a masterpiece.
Great manga which was hard to put in anime but boy they did and I must say enjoyed, loved every second of it. Some people here say humor got lost in anime, for me, not one bit, for people watching this thing with me by the looks of things also not.
So to put it shortly top top anime and cant wait for it to continue where it left off

By 2017 Murata should be on the climax of the MA arc.
-
I wonder if next season which most likely will have Garou at the center, will have 12 epi, or if they will increase the cap.
Different from Boros which just appear out of nowhere and become a major threat, Garou fleshes out much more through the story till the climax, besides that, there is the Monster Association, and if they want to adapt Murata's extra content, i don't know if 12 episodes will be enough to wrap the entire story.
