Lates Databook states that metal bat that he uses is family heirloom passed down to him, same as somebody could have inherited family sword. So Metal Bat is kind of special even by his heritage.

Im up to date with the Webcomics as well, it's that this fight with Garou and Metal Bat is manga only, so this actually expanded on the character. I'm aware of Lighspeed and Darkshine, shame that the

My prediction for next chapter is MB smacking Garou through the Elder Centipede(killing him in the process), Garou lands where the 3 Demon monsters are and he curbstomps them, so Garou regains some of his credibility back.
My 2nd prediction is those 3 monsters meet Atomic Samurai disciples(Muratas purpose of continuing fleshing out the secondary characaters).

That's actually not literal, but a saying that has the same meaning as 'ace in the hole.' Basically, that's saying: "A powerul fullswing! This is the Ace in The Hole that pulverizes monsters!!"

伝家の宝刀 doesn't literally mean "family sword passed down generations", it's a common metaphor to mean your most prominent, strongest skill.For Genos that would be his incinerator, for Prisoner it would be his Angel Rush.
You know, just like the English expression "cards up your sleeve" doesn't literally mean actual cards in your sleeve.
There's nothing to take home from that sentence other than his full-swing is powerful enough to crush monsters.

Looks like Metal Bat holded Garou on line of somebody else attacking, I am really interested in last part of this fight.
I guess that Sea King would get smashed into pulp rather fast against Metal Bat.. same as most of monsters in this manga.
Very simplistic, rather shallow character but as awesome as it can get with this type of a hero.I really like what Murata(and One) is doing for OPM with this kind off added stuff. Original would use some more of S-class heroes action so we gotten it in redrawn version.

When I watched some of Murata streams lately I must say that he is drawing insanely fast.
Today he uploaded around.. well a lot of hours of drawing.
During whole day he managed to draw 3-4 pages, thats a lot given quality of his work and that it is without backgrounds.
As for content of next chapter it seems that
! Metal Bat was really close to being on his last leg and Garou started to get an upper hand and will finish off Metal Bat within next chapter. It would go differently if Metal Bat would not get that much of damage in previous fights, then perhaps he would build up enough for Garou to get beaten or he himself would need to evolve.
Also spoiler connected to One and how latest chapter of Muratas redrawn nicely fits with
! Metal Bat scene that we gotten from One in one of newest chapters.

Did you notice how most of the better looking cuts in the S Class fight focused on Metal Bat? Like that Itano Circus he had with Melzalgald tentacles. Even the anime is pimping Metal Bat.

I thought I'd cover further, but most of it was filler and the fight just started by the end of the episode. It looked solid, but it didn't really blow me away. As a result expectations for next week are even higher. I'm going to be really disappointed if they give an episode like this week's next week.
I remember feeling a bit underwhelmed by episode eight in that regard and then the next one had me rewinding scenes twenty times in a row.

yeah, wasn't as great as I thought It would be. Still pretty good, just not fantastic. They nailed the Metal bat scenes though, Geluganshp and of course Boros bulking up. Bang sending Melzalgald flying was kinda weak, the manga page in comparison made it look more powerful, also wasn't really feeling some of the scenes with the S-Class heroes ganging up on him.
Not sure if the extra scenes were needed, since the next episode should've plenty scenes to work with. Perfect ending would be the finished hero association HQ. I'd guess the AT-AT and Tank Top Master won't make the cut, but we'll see. -

I really liked that they basically just straight used Murata's maze ship drawing from the manga. Metal Bat's scenes were definitely kick ass. The OK. I forgot that came from this scene. I have had that as my Facebook profile picture lol. Someone said the OAV was out as well.

Yeah some school janitor did that maze for about 20 years as his past time at home and was found by his daughter who asked if it could be published and it gained lot of attention due of its insane level of detail.
Also dat cliffhanger… next episode will be legendary.

I didn't mean to sound short (if I did?), I was posting from my phone and my kids were crawling all over me.
Anyway, like Shandian mentioned above, it was a school janitor who made it over the course of handful of years. I remember it popping up in the news prior to Murata using it, and then when Murata used it he credited at the end of the chapter. I thought it was a pretty cool story, some random janitor making the maze and then his daughter finding it, publishing it online and getting a ton of online sales and then (hopefully) royalties for its use in OPM. It showing up in the anime should mean more royalties, I'd assume. Not sure about that though– Aohige, any idea on how that might work in Japan?

I just realized the extra scenes with Stinger and Lightning Max actually kinda made me care about those characters. They're genuinely good, like Licenseless Rider. Nice.
So the only ones I don't really care about are the ones in episode 4 and Pri Pri Prisoner.

Episode 4 characters get developed further in the manga (Murata version), the anime just hasn't got there yet.

Considering MB is currently being the focus in the manga, it makes sense the anime showcased him.
