Saitama owning the Tank Top siblings was done better in the anime IMO, I lold how he smacked TTT and how TTBH was begging like a bitch.

This makes me want to puke. The entire article completely writes off ONE and his writing of the series as being it's major point of success, focusing solely on superficial aspects. In fact, he's never even attributed to being it's actual creator. All the credit is being placed on everyone, but him. "As a collective they are often accused of having weak fundamentals that lead to wobbly and nonsensical character acting, but there is no need to even worry about delicate motion in a series like this." This trash site has dismissed OP's story and point, labeling it as just an "action" series.
The animation is the reason people started to watch the anime. They care about the animation more than the story. If it had average animation it wouldn't have been as well received. Check out any place that has discussion about the episodes and you'll see that's all they talk about.

Imo, anime is not better in animating a story than manga; they are simply not comparable, simply different kind of arts.
The anime is giving me a new perspective of Saitama, compared with what I had in mind. But it enriches it… also it reminds me of things I had forgotten... Such a great episode.

It's probably due to how he kinda does a key frame sort of chapters sometimes. Those particular shots had mpre of a punch…if you will. Like the first Sonic encounter. He did those sequences with a tad more flair.
In manga the animators are the author and ones own mind.
I'm so ready for the sea king two parter.
This episode was good, not as killer as the chapters it was based on or some of the other eps, but still good. I dig the little warm scene they added in the end. Between this and the udon scene, I very much like the anime original scenes. If only such scenes were as good in some of the other adaptations out there. Ones to leave you thinking "I could totally see that happening", instead of "stop wasting my goddamn time".

It does. Not in context of this episode and the corresponding chapters , but it does in general. Sparring scene didn't need to copy that awesome gif sequence in order to be a total jaw dropper in it's own right..
Also keep in mind that the series follows the volume editions, so they aren't particularly concerned with replicating the gifs.

It was perfectly animated copy of volume 2 version of fight(if you didnt knew). Ideas for choreography were mostly what Murata already did in volume relase.
I knew, but I haven't seen the volume editions.

I lean towards this being an honest outburst myself. Saitama's a real swell dude who will occasionally take one for others, but he's a relatable ordinary guy who worries about hair products and bargain sales, not some martyr messiah.

Saitama is too honest and simple. He never put up a facade before, so I don´t think he did it this time.
Maybe he just got annoyed, since:
1- they were using the heroic argument to screw him when he didn´t give a f***
2- He didn´t like the cowardly tactics used by the tank tops. He still has some standards after all.
I mean, most of his vague expressions are usually used when someone goes around babbling about their motives, or when someone tries to use their strength, which his unimpressive for him. It seemed a bit out of character though, I thought the same when I read the original.

To me it's: he doesn't care at all about populatiry and approval. But he cares about his ranking, because… it's his hobby. That's all. It's a lonely guy and it doesn't bother him. That erases the apparent contradiction, imo.
I'm just going off of a few moments here: he thought about having a fanclub, when Genos was reading comments about himself, it depressed him, in the beginning of this episode, he said whether Genos would lose his job or not.
His #1 priority is getting a fun fight, but I really do feel like he secretly does seek some approval. At least this is what I have gathered so far. At the very least, he wants to be a hero people know, while Genos doesn't give a crap about that, for example.
Well it could be this way then: he could think it's funny to have some fan, but not at the point to have a breakdown if people critizises him. If people critizises for doing what he wants to do, then fuck the people. So the priorities coud go: 1) to do what he wants, 2) to have a good fight, 3)… n) to have a good ranking,... n+m) to have a fan club... If there's a contradiction then the first come first...
Basically it all comes down to the fact that he isn't as apathetic as he seems, I think. Saitama just has his priorities, lol.
Part of it is the idea that 'no one can make themselves a hero, other people determine that'. I personally disagree with this idea, since I believe that a hero is 'someone that does a thing which needs doing, regardless of the cost'. On the other hand, if we are using the word "hero" to distinguish 'someone in a garish costume that fights threats to public safety with superhuman, paranormal, or unnatural power', then yes, public perception can make all the difference as to whether or not that individual is seen as a hero or a weirdo. Especially if there is a system in place to organize/coordinate the efforts of said individuals. What can I say, Japan is pro-union.
That is an interesting angle and it goes more with Saitama´s personality of not giving a crap about others´ opinions, but his reaction still hasn´t been explained.

Damn, they didn't animate Bang protecting Genos with the Rock Smashing Water Stream Fist, that is one of my favourite panels of the manga and I was looking forward to see how they would animate Bang's technique. But I liked the little scene they added at the end

It's been a great adaptation so far. There have been a couple of original scenes, but they actually add to the series.

Aw man, so short. But at least they aren't artificially stretching it with terrible fillers, which would be so easy to do seeing how the show is episodic at the beginning.

Quite true! Maybe "being a dick is so cool" idea was first (Max Brothers, Three Stooges, some acts of Chaplin), and later the "hitting the dick is so cool" idea was added too.

Maybe first not "being a dick is so cool" but "making fun of the dick". "Being a dick is so cool" comes after "hitting the dick is so cool".
Early 20th century comic heroes tended to be mischiev makers. Just read early comics of Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck or Superman and count the number of technical legal offenses they commit. There are whole webpages dedicated to it.
Also comics / cartoons from that era have the habit of anthropomorphizing anything that walks (and doesn't) from animals over plants to lifeless objects. Since this makes them sentient, every attempt of treating them in the usual manner becomes a major violation of basic human rights. Trying to force your visibly annoyed car to go faster leans heavily into the domain of slavery and every cat trying to eat a mouse whose IQ is bigger than that of the average highway cop pretty much comes down to being a cannibal. making it ok to never have them win at anything.
So in the end, fantasy owns ethics and creates bizarre moralic lessons.

Most of the people Bugs was a dick to were usually trying to kill him first. The vast majority of "dicks" and "douchbags" you're lampooning against were in fact on the defensive and making fools of antagonists for comedy value.
