I really wonder what he's going to bring to the table that the series didn't. In all honesty, the animated series should be airing on HBO, but knowing the ignorant mainstream, they'd confuse it as being a children's cartoon.

The question of what it will bring to the table is an interesting one. I would consider pretty much any change to the narrative to be a mistake, but I bet there will be additional subplot and possibly omissions. I do think it could be cool as a live-action show since it takes place 100% in the "real" world and I do think it would cast a different light on the events.
