Okay, first of all, I kinda get the appeal of MLP. I haven't really seen the show, apart from clips here and there, but it's alright.
THIS however, is another story. The song makes my ears want to run away and hide, and the animation is quite… bad. I also hate Littlest Pet Shop, due to having two sisters between 6-7 years old.
I just have to clarify though, this kind of thing isn't for me.

Yeah. I don't see this being another MLP (although what do I know?).
This seems to be have the same flaw as earlier MLP generations.
It appears to be distinctly geared strongly towards girls.
But this represents the bad side of trying to cater to a certain audience.
Shoving pop music, and trying to give the characters a "cool" vibe for example.
This looks…blargh. The song is quite irritating, but I don't like MLP's opening either. I don't think this will catch on the same way as MLP. The Twlight Sparkly Dog and Lizard thing...Hmm..yeah, no.

I'm not sure how many people actually like the MLP Opening. It works though because it is short as hell. Now if America had the Italian opening that thing could play for a very long time. :ninja:
First impressions;
The design of the characters are more… designs on the animals are kind of generically flash. I think the difference between it and MLP is that MLP is design with more traditionally with Flash being build around designs, this is more designs built around flash.
Guessing by how the designs were made the characters are going to be shaped by their one quirk. I could be wrong, but juding by that preview clip we've got... It feels like someone guessed at what made the My Little Pony show so successful and misinterupted it.
Who knows maybe that'll have be full fledged characters! But these large assumable cast don't normally go that far. Plus i was hoping for a Jem cartoon.

Basically they look like Panty and Stocking characters. I'm not sure I'd like them de-aged. Makes me think Hanna Montana plot stuff. Good drawing though.
Just watched the first episode on Comcast On-Demand which was for some reason under the MLP episodes. It was fairly decent. Might give it a few more episodes.
So many characters seem like retreads of ponies … from the twilight sparkle doll, to the Spike-y haired lizard, to the crazy, hyperactive Pinkie monkey.

Yeah. That monkey does leave a bad taste in my mouth. 
Seriously though, it just seems like they saw the success of MLP, but didn't grasp some of the things that made it successful.
LPS feels like it has that "Trying to be cool" vibe just oozing out of it with the whole Pop music singing dog in a hat.
The background artwork just looks sloppy compared to MLP, and everything else art wise is sort of meh.

I overslept and couldn't watch MLP in time, so while I was waiting for YouTube uploads I killed some time by watching the first episode of Littlest Pet Shop (no one had uploaded episode 2, apparently…?).
It was ... okay, I guess?
It wasn't bad or anything, but not my thing.
However, I'm giving it a chance. You can't and shouldn't judge a show by its first episode. If only someone would upload episode 2.
The Blue Mongoose was cute!

it didn't focus on the dog show…
! but more on Blythe trying to fix Zoe's grooming blunder for the dog show.
I figured … I just ... don't like the Kennel Club shows all that much trails off
ANYWAY. That magician pet thing reminds me so much of Flippy from Happy Tree Friends. Mainly it's just the design, but some of the expressions as well. I expect him to kill everyone at any moment.
OK, after watching a half season i have to say what i have in my mind about that show, and without doubt….
this show is awesome!!!!!
the episode got better and better
the pets are great
the cast is good
the stories and plot are amazing well
and even the songs are good to the ears!!!

and so it begins.
it was only a matter of time before someone got hooked on this show.
It just so happens that I watched a few episodes again yesterday, and I gotta say … there were one or two decent jokes in those!
One about how all animals of the same species look alike to humans and a few jabs at the "freakishly large" heads of the characters, for example.
Also, Sunil is a pretty sweet character.
