I saw this on Amazon.
Is this true?
(title is supposed to say Dragonball Z Budokai HD my bad. If a mod could do me the favor of changing that it would be appreciated)

Yes, it was announced months ago. It's very real.
It's also only Budokai 1 and Budokai 3, and they don't have online added. There's really no reason to get it unless you're an achievement/trophy whore.

Oh, of course. Cause there's no value in replaying a really good game (Budokai 3) in HD.
Right.
Why would it leave out Budokai 2? That was the interesting one where they had a few custom fusions and were in general creative about rehashing the story for the umpteenth time.

Oh man, those fusions were awesome. Especially the one with Goku + Mr. Satan, which had two completely different looks depending on the costume:

His name was "Gotan"and it was hysterical XD
Why even bother including 1 if you're going to have 3 in there? A better collection would include like, Budokai 3 and Budokai Tenkaichi 3.
I'm still considering getting it because dang it if I didn't have fun with the Budokai games before.

Story mode? Mostly I assume because the combat and skill systems tweaked a fair ammount. While the gameplay was basically the same, there were also some changes as it went and some characters didn't play exactly the same as they did. The way a character played in part 1 might be pretty different from part 3 (Yamcha's wolf fang fist for instance, comboed into itself to recharge its own bar due to the multiple hits, but that worked less well by the third game.) Plus the different capsules that came along, and the extra transformation, changed some of the dynamic pretty dramatically, largely because there were a bunch more super saiyan powerups by the third game that really broke them power-wise compared to everyone else.
It leaving out the middle is still weird though.

Despite the american titles naming making them seem the same, and the obvious overlap, they're actually two completely seperate franchises. Budokai Tenkaichi 1 was NOT a sequel to Budokai 3. Probably requires a different licensing for both.
Huh I didn't know that.
Still weird not having all the Budokai games.
