when Oda sensei be there at One Piece Ten?
One Piece Ten (ONE PIECE 展), new amazing event in Japan.
-
-
Sooooooo is it the same event as last year with the same information or are there different stuff?
-
WTF? At the beginning there's a poster that says "Bloody Rose Zerra," which is some fan concept from last year! Does Oda intend to bring this character into the series?
Here's the deviant art link - http://melo-cake.deviantart.com/art/One-Piece-Oc-Bloody-Rose-Zerra-387624516
My guess is the TV studio reporting the story just pulled the first high quality Wanted poster they could find from the web, and that just happened to be it (the artist has another picture of the poster full-sized).

"I think I can keep drawing in next decade and we will get new nakama." Oda said -
In this part he says something about, ''Oh! Not in attendance''. can you clarify that Kaze? thanx in advance.

That is what I translated roughly in reply#549
"New members of the Straw Hats will show up successively."
-
Holy f*ck.. I'm not readyyyyy.
Thank you kaze!
-
"new members" and "continually" ?
so it means we will get two new consecutive SH members right??
-
Thank you Kaze.
So the mugiwaras will be more than ten:wassat:
Now i wonder if BB will get new nakamas too or if the mugiwaras will not have a fight each?
Damn you Oda…. -

continuallysuccessively
One after another. He didn't give numbers here. So I think two new members at least.

Could you show us where the sentence is?

Oda's interview with ChinaTimes: (Translation: Rio Poneglyph)After hearing the journalist's guess about OP's ending that 'One Piece = Won Peace', meaning the treasure Luffy will finally find is world peace, Oda smiled and said 'Indeed, the name of One Piece does have something to do with the ending of OP, but I cant tell you the exact reason/clue, or it'd be meaningless.' Later, he said 'After 17 yrs, after more and more new characters being created in the story, I couldnt stop inspiration coming into my head. I think I can continue drawing for another decade. And there'll be new nakama, they will show up successively.' When talking about the creation and setting of Devil Fruit, Oda said it's inspired by Doraemon, all the inspriations come from daily life. E.g. Luffy's Gomu Gomu no Mi was created because I (Oda) was too lazy to move out of my seat to get something, it'd be great if I could elongate my arm. LOL. Oda also said he wants Robin's Hana Hana no Mi the most because he then could have many hands drawing at the same time. Besides, all the devil fruits that are eaten by female characters are relevant to women's daily requirements in real life, e.g. Alvida's Sube Sube no Mi and Miss. Valentine's Kilo Kilo no Mi. Oda goes to bed at 8 am, wakes up at 12 am, four hrs of sleep every day, he said it's really fine.

Just got back from the Taiwan event. Was pretty interesting, really enjoyed it. Unfortunately the ad that Oda was going to be there was abit misleading. According to one of the volunteers working there he only came to inspect the event, but didn't really stick around for signings or anything.
!
!
Pictures were not allowed inside, so I can't show anything really
!
The exhibit itself was pretty interesting. They had life sized sculptures of the straw hat crew plus a few others. Pretty well done, but kinda meh to be honest. They had some films which were basically the manga pages gone through After Effects/Flash, to make this animated manga sequence that went through the series. It was really well done, and they projected it in this kind of curved screen so it seemed 3D. The main attraction though were the original drawings Oda did. They had (I believe) all of the original color pages framed up, and a few of the original manga pages, like Ace's death and such. It was really nice seeing all the details up close, and you could see all the little marker strokes and everything. Also the text in the manga were all typed, as opposed to hand written as originally thought. It looked like Oda wrote out what he wanted in the text bubbles, but after they would type it out and paste it over for neatness.
There was a replica of Oda's desk (interesting, but nothing we haven't seen from pictures before) They had a video showing Oda drawing Luffy and Chopper and he kinda went though his thought process while doing so.
Erebus asked me to look out for the bounties. What was cool was that they had a wall with all the bounty posters and such, HOWEVER, the bounties for characters we didn't know about had their numbers either torn off or were hidden by another poster. I couldn't take any photos (ugh), but I picked up some playing cards that basically had the pictures displayed.
! Probably not what you guys wanted but its the closest I could get
The pictures were the exact same displayed though, just on playing cards instead.
!
!
!
!
Picture of a picture of the bounties exhibit, probably not what you wantI picked up a book that had most of the exhibit details though. I wish I could of taken pictures instead of the actual exhibit instead of pictures from a book about the exhibit, but its the best I could do
Sorry for the lack of quality

Thanks kaze1028, really nice pictures and interview.
And nice review zxcv11791.
That book is the Tokyo version, it's the same book they sold in Tokyo. But there's a specific book for Taiwan.
I saw in the pictures that is "Coming Soon" now. I hope I can buy it in same way
-
So… no new bounties?
-
Thank You redon and kaze.
So now people can shut up, that there won't be new members after all. Jinbe is a given… And at least one more... I still think we will stop with 11 SHs cuz 11 = soccer team
-
Thanks for all the info guys.
-

I think there will be more than 2 people since Oda said they will continue to come one after the other. I don't think Jinbe counts here since he is technically one of them.

You are free to think as you want
-
However it should be mentioned that Oda seems to like using the Nakama word in chinese on his drawings: First in the Taiwanese Mugiwara Store and then on the exhibition. Does the chinese article indicate unambiguously that there will be more "crew mates" (plural) or just "friends" like Vivi, shirahoshi…?
-

Technically, not really. He's as much of a new member as Vivi is right now.
-
hearing that there will be new crewmates makes me "i have to own the POP of this character" think lol
About who will join well i think Jinbei will be one day or another but the one who will join will be after dressrosa, i have few theory but i ca't really tell, Oda is good at making cliffhanger.
-
Technically, not really. He's as much of a new member as Vivi is right now.
But Vivi's only a SH at heart. It's already been established that Jinbe is/will be a crew member.
-

He WILL be, so he shouldn't count now.
-
He WILL be, so he shouldn't count now.
He's already been established so I personally wouldn't. I'm even a bit skeptical of him since he doesn't really fit. Feel free to disagree.
-

Well, Oda is not putting him on color spreads and such, so he's not considered a Nakama by Oda yet.
-
Holy smokes I could have missed all this! Thanks Kaze! Nothing hypes me more than Jinbe! I really need to be more active in the forums again.
-
Does anyone happen to know the brand of Odas desk lamp?
-
new members huh. guess bonney is coming back soon so she could join the strawhats.

I have to admit, I do wish that I was there (although I would have to know how to speak Taiwanese).
-
I recall seeing a 4 page color spread with kuma on the far left and dragon on the far right
any links to that? -
Would make sense that more members would join. Four in East Blue, four in the first half of the Grand Line and four in the New World.

I don't think we have enough story for 4 new main characters anymore.

I'm not sure how Oda would fit them in, but to me the 'succesive' members joining in the future, how Oda stated it, made it seem like there's gonna be at least three (two being the bare minimum if you take the meaning literally).
They could as well be all members that were introduced already, Jinbei seems like a given and there seems to be a lot of other 'possible' candidates, like Bartolomeo, Kin'emon etc that could possibly join without needing much extra backstory.
I'm not saying this is what's gonna happen, but it doesn't seem that unlikely either to me. -
So according to the interview with Oda's editor he's currently doing a research on Taiwan's buildings, culture and food. Since Taiwan is basically China, does it mean we're getting a Kano arc?

Well, yes.
Altough… that theory you quote might still be accurate. Taiwan is not China, but it is similar to it in some cultural aspects, and, all things consider, Japanese person would have significantly less trouble moving about Taiwan, then mainland China.
And, of course, there is a possibility that Oda intends to base Kano on Taiwan, and not China. Especially since Taiwan is an island country already.
-
The most obvious building that Oda might take inspiration from might be Taipei 101, but I feel it might look too similar to arlong park.
-
That's fan art from Ponio.
-
Makes sense, since that's where I got it from.
-
Idiotic protesters, as if the youth of today or Oda in this case, has any real connection to the atrocities of the past. If the world could get over germanys past so should the South Koreans. Can't find any possitive articles regarding their relationship though.

Until there's this editor who told him "A hard-working person like you will get what you deserve!"
Wow, this is just so heart-melting.
Does anybody know who this editor is?

The event was being held at a war museum dedicated to the memory of what the Japanese did to the South Koreans. Forget about letting bygones be bygones, that is very disrespectful to hold an event dedicated to a Japanese product there.
-
That would be a good place actually, to show that an former opressor and enemy is spreading joy and entertainment. If anything the plot of One Piece shows that the hero unites people of different POVs, creates alliances and fights facism/injustice/misery.

What??
I'm a Korean and didn't really want to get into this but you do realise Japan was Nazis of Asia?
I felt sceptical about this exhibition since it was a war museum where it was being held but I guess it was the usage of imperial Japanese flag (which btw is Nazi mark of Asia) in some of the exhibitions that tipped this thing over.Oda has unfortunately used this mark multiple times in this series including the introduction of "glorious" Wano country (obviously based on Japan) and Pagaya's boat on Skypiea.
I know it's not entirely the same thing but I dare say this was something like a German artist exhibiting his art work in Jewish war memorium and containing their glorious past symbol of the Nazi mark.

Germans don't go putting Nazi marks everywhere. In fact they are so ashamed of that past.
Japanese? Their highest politicians visit the shrines of their supposed war criminals of world war 2 and talk as if they were heroes.
It's not everyone, but they are still yet to apologise or even admit the true atrocities of their past.–- Update From New Post Merge ---
We should forgive them, yes.
But we should never ever forget about it or like you put it "Get over it". -

Thats like saying North and South Korea are basically the same.
Historically speaking they are. Unless you're under the impression that the divide in Korea is some ancient thing rather than a result of WW2. Your grandparents are probably older than split Korea.
The same is every bit as true of Taiwan and China.Unless you think the only thing Oda could possibly be studying is modern architecture styles and pop culture….and not y'know the actual thing he bases islands off of, like traditional architecture and culture.
Mainland China isn't even some bizarro nightmare land like North Korea. It's difference from Taiwan these days in terms of everyday life is that it's like a rundown rusty smoky version of Taiwan. It's not the Korean night and day scenario anymore.

There's just no way. Taiwan was barely populated and built up prior to 1949. It was boonies for both Japan and China when they ruled it.
So historically there's nothing much to write about in regards to Taiwan, to base an OP island off of that is supposed to be One Piece China.
And I doubt he's going to base it off post-49', unless Kano ….has "Mainland Kano" lol.--- Update From New Post Merge ---

What are you talking about? The dialect here is called taiwanese. Mainland china calls it hokkien, but its known as taiwanese here.

He's really obviously studying older style Chinese architecture.Taipei 101 is the most well known structure here. Its a mix of the old style with the new in its design, thats what makes it famous and interesting. Implying Oda won't have newer architecture designs is just plain dumb = =
