rewatched the whole thing…the battle is ok,even really good in some parts until the last verse by jenner that it's way too weak (except from maybe the last line) and way too long..the first part is about..self acceptance?and then about hulk's shorts?really?

The intent seems similiar to the battle between jefferson vs douglas..that starts as a battle but ends up with having one side take the stage completely...in the previous one it was made by make jefferson basically give up his second verse by apologizing,this one by giving an overwhelmign superior number of lines to jenner..but while at least in jef vs doug the verses were great,here the fact that the last verse is kinda boring doesn't help at all.

The movie directors with Spielberg, Kubrick and others was pretty great for both humor, lines and general knowledge, even if on a superficial level for the scope of the video.

When they are creative and go beyond just a rap battle between 2 persons they usually have the best results (even with Disney after Henson & Stan Lee).

I find myself listening back on the old seasons and I sort of fall in love with the ones I initially thought were just okay. Like Harry Houdini vs. David Copperfield, the music in that battle is insanely good and I could say the same for Lewis and Clark vs. Bill and Ted. Listening to some of the songs with fresh ears was rather great and helped me appreciate the work put into them. As for my all time favorite, that's a a tough one but I most certainly love J.R.R Tolkien vs George R.R Martin

Still waiting for a battle between two great explorers, Ibn Battuta vs Zheng He. Fun fact both men visited the Horn of Africa coast numerous amount of times, check out Periplus of the Erythraean Sea and the names the Greeks gave towards the Somali coast cities such as Opone, Malao, Mundus, Tave and Sarapion for example. I'm pretty sure that the famous 'Land of Punt' is situated in northern Somalia/Djibouti.

Why not Haile Mariam instead (Communist who was against the Somalis, then again both the Ethiopian and Somali have a long history of warfare between the two, from the Ifat, Adal sultante, etc.).

Ethiopia are salty because they're a landlocked country ever since Eritrea Gaines independence from the early 90's. Too bad Eritrea is now known as the 'North Korea of Africa'.

Cold war also was interesting in the region.

Like I said earlier, a vs battle between Zheng He and Ibn Battuta.

Like many here, my favourite was Eastern Philosophers VS Western Philosophers.

As a rabid fan of both, I did enjoy GRRM v.s. Tolkien, but I was slightly disappointed towards the fact that they let Martin give some jabs towards Tolkien's writing style, but no criticism towards Martin's writing style himself. It was almost as if the creators didn't really read GRRM's books. There are so many things to take a jab at, like his weird sexual metaphors (hot steaming Myrish pool, seriously GRRM?) and his overtly fondness towards describing food. It was a great battle, with a potential to be epic.

I've got a love hate relationship with that one. I think everything about it is amazing, getting Smosh and Rhett & Link and the turtles suits, the mash up, etc. Its really good idea. And a lot of the lyrics and music is great. But it has huge balancing issues as far as pacing goes. Like it felt like the first two Artist got more lines than anyone else.

That was amazing! Loved the flows and the return of historical figures. Though I will say Ivan executing all the Greats seemed kind of corny and disrupted the flow. It's a shame I didn't really know how all those Greats died so I couldn't appreciate the context more. Well, as Quentin Tarantino said, "Wikipedia that."

Bond vs. Powers is a geek favorite since it has two Bonds and a ton of zingers relating to their films. People hate Banner vs. Jenner since Jenner got so many more lines at the end that it was pretty much obvious that the creators wanted Jenner to win.

Banner vs. Jenner ramsey vs child was a proper rap battle,the two ripped each other to shreds without filler and with a "speedy" pace,which is the style i prefer… bond vs powers did the same but had the problem of cutting away powers after the first part and having a pretty weak last line. Ivan vs alexander is definitely the busiest of the bunch,but i didn't particularly care for the fragmented second verse of ivan the terrible and the slow paced catherine part. Martin vs tolkien seems to be a fan favorite,but since i'm not a fan of either lord of the rings or game of thrones it didn't have the same impact to me..it's by no means terrible though.. jefferson vs douglas had the problem of one part basically surrendering after the first verse...same for banner vs jenner really,but while the rhymes were still good for jefferson vs douglas,in banner vs jenner the second part is almost all shit (i have the suspect that they made the guest rapper handle the last part,which is a great "real time" battle rapper,but doesn't understand that since ERB are not in real time,they need to be a little more elaborated and cut a bit more deeply..instead she started talking about self acceptance and then dissed hulk for his..shorts??And all that for almost a full minute??

Fully agreed with this. If anything, this was the battle where the rappers tore each other to shreds. While I really like Ramsey vs Childs, Childs spent pretty much all of her lines attacking Ramsey's temper and attitude and not his cooking, his shows, or the fact that he plays the anger up for the cameras most of the time which kind of made the battle one sided as lyrically catchy her half was.

1. Alexander vs Ivan - the Frederik part alone would have made it, one of the best things they did so far for me. And of course the other parts were great as well. 2. Martin vs Tolkien - the best battle, rap-wise 3. Bond vs Powers - close second for me to the MvT battle, though it lacked a bit due to Powers having no second verse (ConneryBond was great though, don't get me wrong) 4. Ramsay vs Child - I don't really care much about Ramysay and didn't know Child before this battle. For me it feels like this will be the "forgettable" one this season, despite not being bad at all. 5. Jefferson vs Douglass - the first half was great, the second half was pretty much just "But I despised slavery!" "NO YOU DIDN'T!". It's a shame, because this felt like it could have had a lot more potential. 6. Banner vs. Jenner - one of the worst ones they've ever done. First half was ok, the second half was just shit because it was incredibly onesided. It probably would have been much better if they didn't blatantly favor Jenner, they even changed the beat during her last part to a more upbeat one in addition to giving her much more time. I also consider taking Hulk for a rap battle not the best idea because of his manner of speech - it didn't work here.

I have not been the greatest fan of the last season but this one was pretty good. Lincoln was pretty good and so was trump in a disney way(presented as villain with great lines).
The slapping + eagle ending was good also.

Just watched the one with Romney were Lincoln slap both at the end with the same line. I would say it's a jab at how infuriating Trump is that he gets the slap of destined to both parties.

Oh man, this battle hasn't even been out a whole day and it has 36k dislikes - Bruce Banner vs. Bruce Jenner, which was actually bad, has about 58k, so it could very well be surpassed. Such is the nature of this election…

Lloyds Trump grows on you after rewatching once or twice. I think it just feels weird because they now had two versions of him.

The whole thing definitely felt a bit one-sided, but in a strange way: Clinton pretty much only attacked Trump, but Trump actually talked about his policies and did not attack as much - which just makes no sense if you think about it.
