The gun is so stupid! Shadow doens't need a gun, he has friggin CHAOS CONTROL powers! If he wanted to blast someone from a distance he could easilly send a bolt of Chaos Magic flying at their face, which is probably more damage-causing than some silly little bullet would cause.
I really hope this game lets me play WITHOUT the gun, it looks pretty cool otherwise.

Like I said before, Shadow's a gimmick character used to get all of those quote unquote "rebels/punks/troubled teens" to buy more Sonic merchandise, and Shadow offers nothing original that isn't in better games. Just a "Me too" game that's clogging up game stores worldwide.
Say all you want about Killer 7, but at least Capcom with SUDA 51 and Shinji Mikami (I think I got the name right) tried something original.

I'm a bigger fan of Knux and Chaotix and frankly if Sega is going to do a side game I'd much rather see it starting them than Shadow. I agree Shadow is overhyped.
Still I am still probably going to look into buying at some point. I feel the gun aspect could add a darker tone to the game and personally I'm interesting in seeing if it can be pulled off. Plus I don't believe it's possible to make proper judgement until you've played the game.

The guns alone was pointless since if Shadow's supposed to be this "Ultimate Lifeform" the fans babble about, he wouldn't need guns. But now motorcycles and cars when he's faster than motorized vehicles? That's just uber lame.
And of course, the younglings are freaking out over this: "COOL! He's arm3d and can drive a car! He's badass!111 1 want this game! LOL!"
I found two rumors about stuff relating to the game.
The first one is that he's apparently also going to use swords, which is also quite lame. The second one is that SEGA says the next Sonic game will be true to the roots of the original Sonic games, which launches a tiny hope in my heart, but a large doubt since I heard false promises like that before.This could very well be the most overhyped game of this year, maybe even reaching the top 10 overrated games of history.

Yeah, Sega fired all of the voice actors who worked on the Sonic Adventure series and hired all of the VAs from Sonic X, claming that it's all for "product continuity".
I feel sorry for the poor guys who got fired, some of them didn't even know they were fired until they walked into the building.

Oh yeah, I remember the announcement about that. If there was any way to honor the memory of the late Deem Bristow, voice of Dr. Robotnik, this is NOT it. They could at least keep Ryan Drummond, for pete's sake!

I'm pretty sure you can choose to have a gun or not most of the time in the game, BUT!!!!! if you preorder it you get a free Shadow Beanie… ARE THEY SENDING MIXED SIGNALS HERE OR IS IT JUST ME!!??!!??!!?? (You have to reserve at EB Games, Gamestop, or Game Crazy.)(Also when i reserved mine they gave me TWO Resident Evil 4 3" Leon Figures... wierd. They didn't have the beanies yet, and the person there said that if they don't get them they'll give me 15 other things to compinsate for it... I'M SCARED!!!)

But yeah like most of you guys, I was a little waylaid by the fact Sega was adding firearm to the game. Seem like a swollow tatic to bring in the fanyboys (and of course they ate it right up.) It does look interesting from the video though and the gameplay still relays on speed (somewhat). The thing now is has SEGA fixed any of the problems that found in Sonic Heroes (which I thought was pretty good). Namely the camera and some more varied gameplay.
Get nuts or go crazy trying.

I do agree that I never saw the big deal about Sonic. The original Genesis games were a lot of fun, but nothing too extraordinary. I thought the Adventure games were fun, but really overrated. I think a lot of it is the nostalgia factor. And furries.

In regards to Omae's post, the big negative reaction is mostly likely stemmed from childhood treasured memories of playing the original games. Well, at least for me. I remember being filled with glee when I played the first Sonic game, a time when the big word of the time was "blast processing", and now most of the Sonic games tend to have other characters in the limelight, all of these different types of play, and of course then there's all of this unneeded stuff for the Shadow game, most of it stolen from other games. I look at all of these and I just don't feel like playing them, they look so unappetizing.

Im not excited at all. Sonic games arent good anymore. There is no good 3D sonic that isnt on the Genesis. Of course, I dont really think those games are very good either. Well, I guess they are good, just really really over rated.

Sonic X is terrible, practically the whole show is about the damn human characters. I don't give a crap about them, I want a show about Sonic. They did a pretty half assed job on the Adventure arcs as well.
