I approve of this chapter. Also, I can't wait to see it animated; this is actually a fight where Oda put in more than a single attack per character and the fight lasted for a fair bunch of pages, meaning Toei may get to do some nice storyboarding. We haven't had such detail since Impel Down; Marineford and Fishman Island were 99% exposition.
Only thing I dislike is the knock-out gas. It feels cheap, especially since Sanji is likely to have the observation haki.

So any ideas who "M" could be? I'd be surprised if it turned out to be Moriah.

I still think they will meet Vegapunk on this island, and that he's currently using it as a research/experiment base. "M" could stand for master or something in his subordinates referring to him.
And at first, I thought it was Buggy stuck on the dragon, but it's clearly not since this guy has beef with a Shichibukai. Maybe Law is now a Shichibukai, and used his power to separate this dude in the first place??

That was quite easily one of the weirdest chapters ever. And of course Luffy would want a pair of legs to join his crew. The mental image of Legs running along the beach and interacting with the Straw Hats in an anime opening is too amusing and awful at the same time.
Must comment on how awesome the art looks during the fight against the dragon. These chapters are becoming more gorgeous by the arc. It's very stunning to look at.

YESSS~~~ Zoro was sooo awesome!!! And everyone teamed up to fight the dragon!! Usopp can fight!!! XD XD I am VERY disappointed in how everyone on the ship is knocked out by gas! Wonder who the master is!! One Piece OWNS all 3 this week! The other two mangas has WASTED pages!!!

I think last chapter was actually the only time with the dragon speaking and that would explain why Luffy could only hear it. Just my two cents that that was a little Oda nugget of foreshadowing is all.

Yay early chapter, I'm glad I checked.
The first thing I thought when I saw a pair of legs running and saying foolish shichibukai was Buggy. I'm excited for this new arc. Also, it seems like Brook not being acknowledged as living can easily become a running gag.

Sry to tell u this, but that shichibukai is most likely Law who had a fight with sum wano samurai (I guess from the lower body's looks). From the way the body was attached to the dragon it can only be Law or a guy with almost the same ability.
How could a world class swordsman samurai get sliced by a swordsman like Law? Well, he has this "Room"-ability that maybe can't be avoided by simple swordsmenship.
How this lower half can talk is still the MAQ, but if he has CoO its explained how he can sense and hear the people around him (maybe CoO comes from inside the balls, just kiddin!).
We still don't know how a lower half can talk, but yet everything points at Law IMO.The guys with the masks may belong to Vegapunk or Moriah. Vegapunk uses pirates for experimental things or its moriah who needs Marios. The thing against Moriah: those guys wear stuff with "PH" on it, so if they belong to Moriah they stole the stuff from PH.

Nice chap! Cool fight with the dragon…now curious to know all about mr. "lower half". He couldbe a samurai, but who "cut" him? Law? Buggy? someone new? More mysteries to come...
On the ship I like the idea that they didn't consider Brooke, it's gonna be interesting...but who's the master? More questions...

Most disappointing thing in this chap is W7: Icebarg didn't manage to make W7 swim in those 2 yrs.
So it wasn't the dragon who spoke, it was the samurai from wano lookin lower half.
I'm reliefed this dragon wasn't a Zoan. When animals get decapitated u know its no zoan.
U guys can still hope Dragon has a dragon-zoan. But yet almost everything points at a wind paramecia or an air logia. -
The headless body reminds me of a Samurai - at least his clothes are of Wano ie 'Traditional Japan' style - Maybe he is the Samurai?

Nice, a dragon fight, some good intrigue with this crew of gassers and an inanimate pair of legs….oh who're we kidding. It's Buggy. Who else would have that power...then again since when did Buggy talk from one of his body parts? Hmm

I was thinking it could be a devil fruit, but Buggy already has something similar. And I'm guessing the Shichibukai he's referring to is Dofla; about damn time!
EDIT: On second thought, it makes sense if it was Law. But that would require him to have BECOME a Warlord in the first place…

There is a tiny chance that this samurai lookin lower half is Buggy, but it always said "Buh" in its lines. Does Buggy talk the same way in Japanese? Otherwise we can almost confirm its a Wano Samurai.
The "M" of the mask guys doesn't have to be the shichibukai too. It'd be all the more fun if more than one "villain" is involved.
If the shichi is really Law I wonder Luffy's reaction to him and vice versa.
There is still a chance that Law did sum hax-thing to Luffy when he saved him with that surgery.
I'd also go for PH = Punk Hazard, though Pirates of the Heart is more sneaky and sounds very odatrolledusagain-like.
After all I hope that Vegapunk is involved finally in this arc.
Moriah would be a lil early if u ask me. I mean the SHs quite beat him b4 they got to red line, u know. I want him to appear in the middle of the NW, rite b4 Luffy challenges Kaidou. -
Oh god, that callback to Oda's "Monsters" one-shot where Ryuuma did exactly the same thing as Zoro in this chapter - slashing off the dragon's head.
Awesome. The short team-fight was great, haven't had that since Oars in TB.
And woot, the lower body part belongs to a samurai and the Shichibukai responsible might just be Law. He might've stuck that samurai's lower half into the dragon's head, although it is weird how it's able to talk.
LOL @ Brook being ignored while everyone else was taken.

The lower half just can be a Wano Samurai. He was talkin bout sensing and hearing Luffy + Co. Most likely he had CoO. I doubt Buggy has CoO or another haki colour.
The guy who did that to him can just be Law. The emergency call must have come from a third person or it was a trap from the mask guys. A trap to capture unawared people sounds a lot like Moria (pre-TB with the barrel). But I still hope its Vegapunk.

Isnt' Law's crew the "Heart Pirates"? And plus, "pirates" is english… And they look too stupid to be Law's crew, not to mention the fact that they should recognize the SH...
I am just hoping Law or Buggy will show up … I don't think Law's crew will recognize the SH since they did change their appearance A LOT assuming they did see all the SH posters. Most recognizable SH from 2 years ago with their bounty posters are in my opinion are Luffy, Zoro, Robin, Nami and Chopper.
But those guys in the masks looks like fodders, I think Sanji could have beat them if not for the sleeping gas.

The next cover story could well shows him working on the project right now. Don't forget it took them 10 years to build the first sea train. Reconstructing the whole island into a gigantic float could well take as long.

So Luffy and Zoro have a little trouble fighting a dragon in the New World. Interesting. Luffy at one instance seems like he noticed he'd be hit with the Dragon's tail due to perhaps being careless. But in another instance was able to have the Dragon bite it's own wing. So it seems that so far, Luffy only keeps his awareness at 100% only when he sees fit to do so, rather than always being alert. Same thing for even Zoro, or Sanji. Sanji should have felt the presence of others on the ship, but again, the same thing may apply here. They're either not keeping their awareness fully at a 100% due to habit (which will change), or they are not skilled enough yet to use observation haki at that level at all times.
Anyways, this Samurai(?) was bested by a Shichibukai. From the looks of it, it seems that it could be Law. Could it be someone else with a similar ability? But this Samurai seems to be quite merry, despite his predicament.

Well, we have so far 4 differents misterious "groups" involved:
-The group of people who made the emergency call with their "boss"
-Shichibukai
-Samurai
-Masked guys and their "Master"I'm pretty sure that the group who made the call are the Shichibukai's crew/associates, so it takes down to 3 groups. Man this arc it's pretty cool.

Agree 100%, however who they work for is highly important. They are permanent residents of Punk Hazard, and so is their Master. Since the dragon is not the main event on this island then perhaps this "M" is. The Shichibukai the legs are talking about could be Law, Buggy or Doflamingo IMO.
Buggy could of gotten stronger, or perhaps buggy and law work together as a Shichibukai team since their devil fruits are so similar. That would make the gas mask men the impel down prisoners, who are not the most noble fighters and would most definitely use knock out gas first and ask questions later. /theory

I think that neither law nor buggy has something to do with lower half samurai. Just got a hunch that thats just the way he really is, considering the way he thought to himself: "For .. I have no eyes or ears." Id expect someone to have been cut by law to say something like: "Thats because I got f**kin sliced up by that bastard!!" And he does not necessarily has to have CoO if the abilty to sense is just something to compensate his lack of having eyes or ears.

Degozaruh ? What the samurai said at then end of his sentence is what Kenshin said all the time. Wonder if Oda did this on purpose, since he worked with Nobuhiro Watsuki on Rurouni Kenshin… Or is that something all samurais say ?
