Crocodile Hunter

I know its been over six years since Steve Irwin died, but I was randomly nostalgic today for the old show. After being disappointed that aside from the movie and a handful of episodes, the Crocodile Hunter (nor Croc Files) is not on dvd, (except in a super expensive collector's set only sold through the zoo… which no doubt pays animal charities and whatnot... but it is overpriced) I looked and discovered that it IS on youtube.

Almost all the episodes in fact.

We miss ya Steve. You were a true treat.

This man was my hero and idol since I was eight. I physically cried when I heard he died. He's the reason I am where I am today (a University Student of Science Honours with less than a year left to graduate). God rest your soul, Steve Irwin.

I find myself on the verge of tears just starting up the first clip. Especially since its a life story episode. It might be why Animal Planet doesn't air the show anymore… maybe it makes everyone sad to see the show and know he's gone.

But after a couple minutes I also find myself just smiling upon watching him, all the same. Its a very mixed reaction.

I think I need to watch a bunch and just get past that point and enjoy it.

I wasn't a huge fan but whenever I stumbled across one of his episodes while channel surfing, I was engrossed.
Feeling nostalgic now.
