Yesterday was what would've been my dad's 62nd birthday if he were still around today. Today's my mom's, so I guess I'm feeling touchy-feely.
This means PHOTOS!

But no, I really lucked out in the sibling lottery. My older bro and sis are quite a bit older (my brother was in college when I was a runt), but they are extremely chill, super fun people.
They're my half siblings, but I've never known or felt them to be anything other but my blood, and I think they feel the same.
There's just this energy when we're together that makes all the vibes good. Rarely do we argue, because collectively we're just laid back as hell (and most of our arguing energy is reserved for the adults).
There can be a lot of eye-rolling though. Lookit these mugs!

I don't usually post pictures with all you lovely folks here, but you all take splendid pictures too! Thanks for the compliments!

Normally we forget to take pictures, but this time I was like "BY GOD THERE WILL BE PHOTOGRAPHIC PROOF" and so there was.

I'm surprised they came out as nice as they did. Normally we don't have a fifth pair of hands, but my brother-in-law Tim was more than happy to oblige, so we got the good stuff!
Us basically acting like fools, lol. But it was nice. For a trip that almost didn't happen, it turned out to be more than worth the scheduling nightmare.
(Especially because of the snuggie blackmail pics of my too-cool brother that he thought I didn't take)

Hey, my siblings except for my little brother are half siblings too! And my two oldest brothers aren't even Finnish - they're Hungarian. But they try their best to learn the Finnish language and I think it's awesome we have a way to communicate. ! I actually didn't know I had an older sister until I was in middle school. My dad had lost touch with her and her mom, but went through this soul-searching process where he wanted to reconnect with her, and let her know who he was - to accept responsibility for not being in her life. By now she was already an adult, and married, but her side of the family welcomed us warmly – Jess' mom is a peach. I guess for the older folks on my side of the family, it was something of a tense time that ended up working out, but as far as I was concerned my little mind heard the words "older sister" and it was the best thing ever, forever. And it still is.

Today I visited the Pyynikki observation tower, which is known for having the best damn sugar doughnuts in the entire town. The view from the top is pretty amazing, so I couldn't help but take some pictures.

Yes, the lakes are fabulous, I can't wait to swim in them during the summer~ And I'll be working right next to Näsijärvi! Of course I know Ruovesi, I used to live in Virrat after all. Hmmmm, the next time I'll have the money to come down South will be after my trip to London. Socializing sounds very good to me, although I don't know my work shifts yet. If you want to visit Helsinki I can get you free admission to Linnanmäki and all its rides~
