I'm utterly surprised by how many Bellamy fans we have here. Oda really does do wonders in his narrative to make an originally terrible character "likeable". I doubt anyone would have supported Bellamy in any of his endeavors prior to this arc. (Just goes to show how great Oda is with his characters for the most part).
Or maybe we just have a lot of folks that hate Bart…
I don't get why so much upset. After all just because people may lose in the tournament, doesn't mean they lose relevancy/position in this arc plot. I expect to see a couple of faces from this first fight be of importance down the line.
What I find most interesting about this chapter is the last panel that shifted the spotlight back to the Straw Hat crew – Franky and the One-Legged Soldier, in this instance. The huge question mark next to the living-toys is something that has fascinated me for quite some time – what are they and who is the leader of this coup? Trafalgar Law has mentioned back in Chapter 705 that the country appeared to be too peaceable in the face of Doflamingo’s sudden resignation, and there’s obviously something suspicious brewing in the backdrop that has not been made clear. The connection between the SMILE factory and the living-toys could be more crucial than it looks and there’s a possibility that the omacha are in fact, the product of inanimate objects that have been infused with man-made Devil Fruits. Those are some of the questions that I hope Oda sensei will address in the next few chapters but in any event, it seems like the bundle of mysteries on Dressrosa is shaping up to be a very intriguing one and I can’t wait to see what is in store for the Straw Hats next week!
I hope that oda after they give an explanation with the franky scenario of the plot that oda just stay with the battle Royal of block C with out any kind of outside story that interupts the action my thinking it will lasta around 3 chapts the most.
I'm getting tired of defending Bellamy from all the reviewers and commenters o nyoutube. There so caught up in there dislike for a redeemed chracter (Who was a good antagonist) to read behind the lines and see what Oda's doing with his character and that the reason he (And Blue Gilly) got beat wasn't because they were weaker then Bart. But because of the King's Punch. I mean seriously they are all calling him fodder and laughing there asses off, I mena I don't see how you can hate his character that much after his return.
MY prediction for Block C is that Don Chinjao headbutts the arena floor and knocks everyone but Luffy into the water.
I called it wrong, so long ago. I guess this needs to be changed.
I wouldnt mind if barto was actually trying to get the fruit for luffy in exchange for a position in his crew. I want someone other than the emperors get some hype right now. It would be interesting seeing his reaction, as well as seeing people actively recognise luffys potential and try to join him. (Not counting the fake luffy crew recruitment at shabondy)
That said I wouldn't want him in the crew, nor think he's a likely candidate. Just the appeal of having luffy put on the same table as the other big names makes it somewhat enjoyable for me.
Still I have no faith in oda doing this, and using bartos mystery man is probably a better option in making the current or future plot unpredictable and fun.
It could be possible if Luffy did get some fans for some of his actions ("destroying Enies Lobby", punching a tennyrubito), and It would be interesting if Bartolomeo was actually inspired or something by him (after all he was a supernova 1 year after him).
Trying to actually win the tournament and the fruit for him is too much, but who knows, there are hard fans of stupid things in the real world too.
But i doubt that he will ask to join the crew, he is already a captain.
I really don't think Bartotroll and Luffy are going to fight one another. There are a lot of characters getting involved in this arc, moreso than any arc in One Piece, and I really don't see why the two would fight at this points. The only way would be if Burgess gets beaten by Barto, but I don'ts see that happening.
Most definitely the outcome was predictable as how the character of Bart was set up. The guy takes out a freaking Marine VICE ADMIRAL in one manga slide, that means he's definitely not going away any time soon. But boy I'm going to LOVE reading Don Chinjao trying to take out Lucy in C Block.
Really like how Oda didn't simply fodderize the 'important' contestants. Blue Gilly took out Dagama and Ricky. Bellamy took down AbduJeet. Ricky had about 5 panels even after getting defeated. At least they had some shining moment before they were victimized by a 1HKO (which was only there to hype up the eventual winner).
Maybe bartos barrier absorbs the damage and he just reflects it back kind of like the impact dials.
That's…. what hitting any immovable, indestructible, solid wall does.
There doesn't have to be any sort of "reflecting back" abilities attached to one, the law of physics dictates, bringing a moving force to halt applies equal amount of force in the opposite direction.
Bartolomeo seems to be able to create solid barriers to throw as projectiles, so I guess Luffy/Jesus could just throw them back at him.
It's just a generic shonen solution to break something deemed as indestructible with a fragment of the same thing.

Anyway, I wonder how the tournament will continue after we are done with the Blocks.
I'd like to see a tag team match between the Block winners and the members of the Doflamingo Family (excluding Diamante), but Luffy and Jesus working together just seems like something too good to actually happen.

Whatever happens, I guess %90 of humanity is sure that Burgess will destroy Barto in the end no matter how strong his barrier is. Even worse that he revealed his trump card devil fruit's speciality too, his time may be running short from now on.
And Luffy has absolutely no way of taking down a main boss like Burgess (whose destined to fight with Franky eventually I guess) thing will be interrputed by Fujitora and marines before those three can settle the score.

Plot twists happen true, But your idea just works horribly. Do you know what would happen if this was true? Aces fruit would end up playing one big game of hot potato from doflamingo, to barto, to shanks, to luffy….. and in the end nothing really comes from it other than massive wasted story potential.
I am really enjoying this arc, really entertaining to read and see all the possibilities come into question, Anything can happen at this point, Would love to catch up with the other Straw Hats tho just for a quick update.

What I don't get is this: when was the tournament announced? If 1. Jesus is there only fo the purpose of winning the mera mera AND 2. the tournament was announced shortly before it started, Blackbeard Pirates have to be quite near Dressrosa. If Jesus is there for any other reason, it makes the plot even more interesting (and we know, that Blackbeard Pirates seem to seperate regularly: e.g. Lafite and Doc Q after the Alabasta Arc). What we don't know is, when the price for the tournament has been set up and how fast people can travel the NW if they really have to arrive a certain goal. Both possibilities - Blackbeard Pirates being near Dressrosa and Jesus being on a mission in Dressrosa - are interesting. However I prefer the latter.

Buggy is that kind of guy who wouldn't never come by himself, he always uses his subordinate's to get what he want's. Also, look at Barto's pants, they are kind of from the circus, right?

Maybe you could force his barrier to bend inwards. Like that you can't actually get through the barrier itself but you can force it to change shape
