I saw a Japanese blog speculating that perhaps back in Kyros' days, the Colosseum gladiator was a sport and a not a bloody gladiator arena.
Explains why he's using a bladeless sword, and his hatred of the crowd cheering… and that perhaps Dofla changed it to the bloody tournament known today.
I was just talking about this the other day, it makes a lot of sense. The bladeless sword is what makes it believable imo.

His "bladeless" sword might just have become dull over time, if it was just lying around for 20 years it would make sense. Just doesn't fit for me to call them gladiators if it was a bloodless sport.

Not really, they shown the blade to have a flat edge, a sword that dulls over time wouldn't have that shape, it would be more rounded since it was once a blade that was sharp. Think of the edge as / vs _/

The sword looks pretty massive and heavy, so it's possible that he was still able to inflict blunt damage with it.

I do not see a major difference between Mihawk and Law (they both have heavy swords that cause major damage). I'm sure Mihawk is much more seasoned than Law, but the way they perform is quite similar. So if you fight by the with a sword (whether or not Law's DF calls for such a weapon), you live by the sword. I have a difficult time not calling him a swordsman. But I also consider Daz Bone's a swordsman (despite his DF)...so I don't think a DF should completely rule someone out.

A DF doesn't have to rule somebody out, Brook is a swordsman, but until they refer to themselves as such I wouldn't consider them one. No. That was never stated or implied. And Law in no way, shape or form has mastered his fruit yet. There would be no room for growth (power wise) if that were the case.

Law is pretty much over powered as is. But I could also care less about his development power wise. His personality is pretty uninteresting to me so I'd rather see much less of him. shrugs
