I have 2 of the games for SFC but I'm not really all that good at strategy games especially one this hardcore. The Pokemon game will probably more simple.

Why? I mean, I'll probably end up getting it (I usually try the spin-offs Pokemon release) but it seems to pander to all the fan-art with human Pokemon. I'd much rather prefer the mecha-Pokes but that's just me.
At least next month's CoCoro will have something new.

This is.. this.. blinks frantically yeah, that's it. I have no words for describing how excited and fired up this thread just made me. I have to admit I've never seen Nobunaga's Ambition before, only heard the name, but it synchronizes with pokemon almost perfectly. If Nintendo doesn't bring this out onto the Western market also, I'm going to get pissed.
Just.. WOW. Definitely getting this if only it is sold outside of Japan.

Actually Nobunaga Oda is from Samurai Warriors I also see Shingen Takeda (also from Samurai Warriors) on that poster too.
This is interesting Pokemon and Samurai/Dynasty warriors in one game. I am intrigued

Since it's Pokemon, it's likely to get localized. But since it's old DS… we'll see. -
I don't know what Nobunga's Ambition is, but I do know that Mewtwo fighting samurai's is the greatest thing ever.

Good idea, two big RPG names in one game, and all the generations will be present.
So, you will control the pokémon and gain status via the generals ? A lot more tactical than your average pokémon fight.

Kinda always wanted to try Nobunaga anyway, considering how old the franchise is. -
For those that don't know, Oda Nobunaga was an actual historical figure who unified Japan. Made famous stateside by, yes, the Samurai Warriors franchise and the strategy games Nobunaga's Ambition. He's a cultural icon, used often in literature and fiction, so while its completely WTF to us, its not nearly as insane in Japan.
But why not 3DS?
Same reason black/white came out on DS. Because the DS has a HUGE installed fanbase of millions, and the 3DS is tanking badly and will probably be replaced by a new system sooner than the usual lifespan of a gaming platform.

And why do you think there was a 90$ price drop in the first place? and an ambassador program giving away games like mario kart and metroid? Why the president of Nintendo took a 50% paycut? Why nintendo lost half a billion dollars in the first half of the year?
It was doing TERRIBLY. They started trying to do some desperate stuff to get it moving, and they've managed to get it moving reasonably after a year of losses and some desperate tactics to push it. You do NOT cut the price of a game system in half six months after release when it is doing well.

The DS still sold 5 million copies this year, and its a 7 year old system. More than half the 3DS' sales have been since the very desperate price cut, in the last two months. There's currently 150 million DS's on the market worldwide, and only 10 million 3DS.
its the better more profitable system to develop games for with a much bigger installed base.

Like I said. It's been doing just fine after the price cut and once there's been games coming out for it. I don't disagree that it was doing very badly prior to the cut. but look at the sales in Japan for the week ending the 14th alone:

And yeah. I totally agree with the whole This is on the DS cus it's got more of a base for customers. It's the same reason Gigant Battle 2 was on there.

I liked how all the important warlords have Legendaries or Starters and who I presume to be the hero has a freakin' Eevee.

Yeah Robby I though that was an obvious choice for him :D, I am also expecting Hojo to have Entei and Tokugawa to have something like a Blastoise or Rhyperior.
Tadakatsu will probably have a legendary but I think Lucario would suit him well, Kotaru having Zoroark would be cool, Kanbei maybe Cofagrigus, Masanori I can definetly see a Scrafty or Krokoodile.
All of this if all the Samurai Warriors characters atleast get appearances(they will most likelly, just don't know their significance ingame).

I think Masamune should have Dusclops.
and the hero having and Eevee actually makes a lot of sense. I assume you will be able to "evolve" in one of 7 ways, getting color-themed, badass armor for each path. Want to make your hero physically oriented? Leafeon or Flareon. using magic/special? Espeon or Glaceon. A tank? Umbreon. Speedy? Jolteon.

So Younger Hideyoshi has a Monferno instead of a Infernape, so I guess pokemons will evolve ingame(not that I didn't think they wouldn't).
Motochika has Deowtt and Motonari Mori has Servine(which I assume both will evolve too) cool, dunno if Dewott fits Motochika from Samurai Warriors, they kinda contrast but dunno, Servine for Mori is cool though.

I was waiting a real long time for a Pokemon game with some sort of Grid based system. Real long time!
I'm not interesting in this one(the art looks nice), but this title should open doors to other interesting alternative Pokemon titles if successful.

So it is going to be a straigth strategy/tatical rpg it seems, cool, seems like each general has a pokemon and if you power up the general the pokemons will eventually evolve.
Seems like serebii said its a 6vs6 and each general a pokemon and each general gives diferent power ups to the pokemons, this could turn out to be a cool rpg, I hope it is released here in Europe but since its for the DS I can still buy it and play it anyway.
More generals confirmed from this video, Sanada Yukimura, Date Masamune(younger like Hideyoshi, cool stuff), Aya, Ginchyo Tachibana(I assume her husband will appear too) and Kanetsugu Naoe.

It would be the greatest thing ever, is what it would be.
Just treat it like Smash brothers crossed with pokemon stadium. Throw out a whole mess of monsters with unique moves, (and some limited tms you can assign to a lot of critters for customization) and you're good to go.
they've already got 3D models of all of them for that 3d pokedex thing.

Yes Kenshin is using Mewtwo and Gallade apparently so he is going to focus on Psichic types.

By doing this, you conjurer up a ritual to summon a legendary Pokemon as a boss.In short, the game would be about sacrificing helpless animals with zero artificial intelligence to gods. That sounds like a whole lot of fun(not).
