They do get the episodes earlier.
Really? Well, no excuse then, unprofessional.

Do you guys think they are going to use these crappy subs for the DVDs?
I'm not too sure, but I think they tweak the subs for the DVD releases.
80 weeks of this opening…burn it with magma
The double mugshot thing was irking, especially because it's completely unneeded with the voice-swapping.
+the eyes/expression changes. Even the intelligence of a 10 year old would be insulted. Then they'd ask their parents if they could ride a boob-slide
We Go ! is the best opening ever, so I hope we'll have it for the rest of this arc.
Having completely unrelated characters plastered in the opening for the rest of the arc/year?

Oh, yeah. This will do nicely.
lol..todays eps so much boob..it just couldn't have been any better
then again first half was pretty good with tashigi and law plus flashback had thier perfect timings as well
Really? Well, no excuse then, unprofessional.
We learned they get the episodes when some real pirate leaked the episode an hour before it aired in Japan, delaying the simulcast for months. It gave people the impression One Piece in the US is cursed.
Decent episode. Not much happened, aside from boob river. It definitely deserves three me gusta muchos!
Good episode with some decent humor. Tashigi was smoking hot as usual. Not sure what was up with that boob slide, that was odd. Subtitles seemed a bit wonky as well. And we need a new opening, like right about now.

Uh… what the hell.
This one has some great art direction and attention to detail. A cut above most episodes of One piece lately even though not a whole lot happened. The art wasn't perfect throughout and the animation was only good in spots, but it made certain scenes like the early moment where Tashigi weeps over Smoker's apparent lifeless corpse work better than it could have under lesser talent. Even the still shots looked great, such as the added effects during the comedy scenes and the overall superior layouts. Lastly, that first glimpse of Caesar Clown's "human" form was a good tease of things to come.
Also, this one was heavy with fanservice, with some gratuitous shots that aren't in the manga. We not only get two sustained shots of Tashigi's cleavage, but an additional shot is included in the 589 preview. I wonder who came up with that "boob slide" dream bit? That particular sample of deranged WTF hilarity really makes me wonder who has the final word on these similarly bizarre filler bits.
Really nothing more to say but good episode. I enjoyed it all throughout.
Luffy being mad by losing "his" legs was plain awesome xD
Boob slide… I'm not one to criticize fanservice but that's just too much. Even for Toei standards.
Boob slide… I'm not one to criticize fanservice but that's just too much. Even for Toei standards.
Agreed, and very unfitting for One Piece, too.
Overall good… but that boobs slide is.... really ruining the whole episode....
Found in 2ch.
What was that one Toei animator smoking when that boob slide scene was thought up? ….Cause that was nuts.
But I think....this was a good episode! Fine art and animation....some scenes had great direction, especially Law's. Dunno what it is, but they always seem to pick the right music to accompany them. The flashbacks reminding everyone who he was.....nice filler.
And while the person bubbles are completely unneeded for the body swapping, hearing the wrong voices come out of the wrong bodies is still amusing.
Luffy losing his extra legs was probably the funniest part.
I generally don't like to nitpick, but was it just me or were FUNimation's subs kinda off this time? A lot of the dialogue felt really stiff and I know I saw an error or two in there.
Yeah…one error I saw was when Luffy was explaining to the others what Law did for him 2 years ago....I heard "Shirohige" but no mention of "Whitebeard" in the subs. Then again, I'm not too picky when it comes to streaming itself.
Overall good… but that boobs slide is.... really ruining the whole episode....
I don't get you guys, how can it ruin an episode for you? It was funny and suiting Sanji's pervert side ;) They looked kinda weird because there were no nipple, but ow well, we can't have that in show for kids xD Are you a girl?
@Mr.:

I really don't understand their mentality when it comes to this stuff. They oversimplify the plot to, supposedly, make it easier on younger audiences. The choices they made when it came to the voice swaps, the fact they continually stop to explain what's going on like we're goldfish, and even the little blurps they added in this episode to show who was really talking while in the other's body, all testify to the fact they're having kids in mind when producing these episodes. And yet we keep getting this really weird and perverted content added out of nowhere. And yes, I realize it's Sanji which makes it A-OKAY LOL SO FUNNI! and YES, I realize this is Japan, but come on. Even in the previews, which are precious few seconds - when you should be picking which important shots of the plot and new content make it or don't - they're showing another passing glance of Tashigi's tits.
Who are they really making this for?
Stuff like this makes me have a greater appreciation for western animation and cartoons in general.
Are people forgetting that the manga has the popups of who is really talking too?
! '
When I went back and saw that Oda added it every single time, it made me realize that Toei didn't make a mistake at all, and that's just the way it was meant to be done.
Which works for the manga. Not when you can hear the actual person's voice.

One was never posted last night.

man I wish I watched this episode up in my room away from the proximity of my family
i am so embarassed
this was an unprecedented amount of boobage
toei more like booboei
This episode was weird…If they were going to do the character bubbles they should have just had the voice actors mimic the body they were in. Having 3 queues on who's talking is overkill I think.
! Soon to be 4 with the tags.
Also chiming in on the boob slide…That was the dumbest thing I think I've seen in a really long time.
Rest of the episode was fine. But it rekindled my irritation with Sanji. I had forgotten his groping scenes.
hypocrites, complaining about some cartoony boobs without nipples that have been part of manga/anime history since the invention of ink. After finishing this episode and writing a paragraph about how disgusted you are about all this, you close the window again in search for some new internet porn of your favorite Oscar worthy nudie actress to satisfy your puberty urges and to train that right arm some more.
Let's blow shit up and start a discussion about sexism in the manga thread next ! Because the last thing we want, is to just enjoy this series right ?
Honestly I agree with Elfman. I get if the boob slide threw people off but how could that ruin an entire episode for you…?
Really? I think Elfman's being a little too hyperbolic when making his point. People are trying to enjoy the episode, but when you're watching something - and especially when it's an adaptation of something else - the things that grab our eyes tend to be the things that are really well done or really poorly done. Most of the episode was pretty good, but the boob slide thing was so out of place and almost grotesque that it ended up being one of the few things that really stood out about the episode, unfortunately, and really does form a negative impression of it as a result. Besides, talking about the things you dislike about something doesn't inherently mean you can't enjoy it. Pretty much everybody in this thread regularly watches the One Piece anime, despite the animation quality and the pacing issue, so we all clearly do like something about it.
And as an FYI, we've discussed sexism in the manga before, so there's nothing really new with doing that, either.
I dunno, listening to some people it's like the boob slide was this extended sequence of debauchery when it was really just a quick five second gag.
'sides, they looked more like asscheeks anyway.

A) I'd imagine lots of people want to keep their porn and their fun seperate
B) I'm asexual, I don't even watch porn.
Yeah, it is kind of a minor thing, but it still stands out despite that. I dunno, in some ways, it being a five second gag is kind of more WTF to me because that just reinforces the pointlessness of it. If they really needed to fill five seconds, I'd rather they give us like five more seconds of Luffy running or something.
The boob slide was kinda creepy, though. I like boobs when there are two of them attached next to each other on the chest of a at least moderately attractive woman. Anything else is disturbing.
And as an FYI, we've discussed sexism in the manga before, so there's nothing really new with doing that, either.
Did you think that it was a coincidence that I mentioned that in my post ?
If Oda draws boobs too big he is a pervert
If Oda draws a weak navy girl he is a sexist
If Oda draws Caribou as Che Guevera he is a facist
Some people here are insane, but what can you expect if discussion threads reach 100 something pages and a couple of 1000 posts about a 18 page manga. It's being over analyzed like hell, after page ten the whole point of the discussion thread is out of the window and it's just one big mess about what people didn't like, researching cultures and languages desperately predicting what will happen next. This week everybody is a Spanish architecture expert last week everybody was a chemical scientist and the week before everybody was a marine biologist.
Just read/watch it's not real ! it's made up for our amusement, if you don't like it don't watch nobody is forcing you.

Well, I can't read your mind, so I didn't really know if it was just coincidence or if you were making a reference to something that had happened. Turns out that it was the latter, so that's cool.
I do agree that there's generally a point where we kind of discuss pretty much everything that can be discussed about any given chapter or episode, but I'm not really convinced that it's a bad thing. Like I said previously, the fact that many of those people who do criticize certain aspects of One Piece read it weekly is pretty much proof that the vast majority of them do enjoy it. Granted, there are definitely a rare few who are reading it out of habit or to specifically try and tear down the manga/author/people who enjoy it, but those tend to be the exceptions rather than the rule. I'm not exactly sure what you want in terms of discussion, though? Because it seems to me like you're suggesting that the amount of it needs to go down drastically and should primarily revolve around the aspects people enjoy. But I think the fact that people are passionate about this series to go out and do this kind of research and actively create theories and debate them is a pretty big testament to how well loved this series is by the people here.
And as for the negatives, some people legitimately enjoy being critical of the things they enjoy and there's nothing wrong with that. They can do that and still enjoy the series.
Yes, it was short an not really a big deal otherwise. I personally enjoy it when the show throws weird shit like that out of the blue from time to time. I was mostly just curious on who in the anime team, when thinking of new fillerish scenes to add, dreamed up that brainchild and got it into the show to the extent of giving Sanji additional dialogue telling about it.
Maybe those scenes are not always in the spirit of the show (I'd say this one is), but it at least shows some form of creativity on the part of the animation crew unlike something like the repeated closeups of Tashigi's breasts while Smoker is talking. That latter part would have worked better if there was an extra scene of the Marines staring at his/her lowered neckline to give some context to the obviously gratuitous leering shots. Better yet, Smoker commenting on it afterwards.

The One Piece fanbase is over-analytical and anal? N-No.. No! I'm gonna telegraph President McKinley at once so he can take up this issue right after the Cuban Maine incident and those pesky suffrage women. Neptune forbid we use our non-existent precious time to discuss a series we love in a forum about said series.
And anyway, my personal issue with them is not so much for this one boob-slide scene, but just what their whole priorities are as a whole looking back at the shit they do.

You're missing the point, I'm not saying that the over analyzing is something new, I said that it has grown so much out of proportion that it turns people into hypocrites. I don't care that people waste time on a forum discussing One Piece, if I did I wouldn't have an account in the first place.
The thing that annoys me is that stuff gets blown out of proportion. Boobs have always been a part of One Piece, there have been a ton of sexual jokes, Sanji ejaculated 5 liters of blood onto a mermaids breasts and Luffy has been jerked of by the majority of Amazon tribe.
Now a 5 second scene of Sanji gliding through the most unrealistic meat colored nippleless balloons ruins the whole episode, the horror.
Open up any random magazine that you have lying in your house, turn your tv on or watch a music video chances are 99.9% that you find more hardcore porn then what you just saw in this episode of One Piece.
Hypocritical, and I don't care about the time you spend on the forum over analyzing stuff otherwise I would've started a petition to ban you from the anime section long ago.

You're awesome. Thank you. Seriously if Oda had wrote put the boob slide in the manga no one would make such a big fuss about it.
So how soon will it be until the sexism in one piece thread gets revived due to Tashigi-Smoker? Cause the last thing we'd want is for a thread to talk about something with such a poor reason to do so.
Did you think that it was a coincidence that I mentioned that in my post ?

THIS. :D
stuff
You're basing a nice chunk of your whole argument on pure assumptions. I myself don't, and can't, speak for these other people who were complaining about the boob slides. Nor do I feel it "ruined the episode" for me; I honestly didn't even pay much attention to it. My single and only single gripe with Toei in this whole thread is how they decide to use their filler time and their mind-crumbling stupid priorities.
Also, the argument of "it's fine because it's happened before and hurr hurr sexuality on your tv" is tantamount to bashing your face against a brick wall as far as excuses go. Two wrongs don't make a right. But maybe I just need to be less hypocritical, cause everyone's apparently a lying, hidden sex fiend.
If Oda draws Caribou as Che Guevera he is a facist
! Someone seriously drew that conclusion? Not only is they guy drawn as Che merely a Caribou lookalike, since Captain Gaburu is really the revolutionary that the soldiers are cheering for, but how does that make Oda a fascist. Caribou only decided to impersonate Gaburu once he found out that these guys were packing serious heat, and Oda only used the Che homage because he's an easily recognizable populist rebel/revolutionary. Also, for all we know, the revolutionaries might have a good reason to take up arms

I don't think anyone drew that conclusion and what Elfman is reffering is Foxxy (not sure 'bout it but i think it was him) who said something like 'I hope Oda isn't one of those who think that Che Guevara is a hero/good guy'
And i totally agree with Elfman on the whole 'blown out of proportions' reaction. Seriously it was little silly thing that some might even find funny. It ruined your whole episode? Grow up…
Sex is less natural and less acceptable than violence, mmkay?

Well aren't you cute trying to act all high and mighty while in fact you're probably the one who just finished fapping and thought it'd be a good idea to defend the boob slide.
People actually found the boob slide sexy?
