Don't think anyone has mentioned this yet, so here's the trailer.
Okay, I know the 2nd one was a complete turd, but…....damn, this trailer makes me hope that it could be awesome.

Eh. Even the first one which people like wasn't as good as the tv series. I'm not in a huge rush to see it, but it does look promising.
lol trailer was funny looks promising can't wait for it to come out.
I had heard that they spent a considerable amount of time filming this movie with NO script…which worries me a bit.
Looks like it'll be better than the second one, I'd see it. Still, up till now I didn't know if there was enough interest for a new MIB.

Tommy Lee Jones hated his script in the first one, so he improvised his lines and forced Will Smith to keep up, so hopefully it turns out like that.
Doesn't look very interesting to me. More of the same in a bad way.
And no Josh Hartnett as young Agent K disappoints me greatly.
I remember loving the first one as a kid (for a while I actually watched it once a day for half a year).
I'll check this out for sure.
I'll keep my fingers crossed on this one.
Jones! Smith!
Don't let me down!
Will see.
It can;t be hard to be better than the second movie, though topping the first is a bit… hmm...I dunno.
It's like this.
Back then, the concept of martians was more popular and surreal due to effects attempting once pushed boundaries of imagination.
These days days... special effects are really just for show with little reason the connect the audience to the genre itself.
And judging from the trailer, it looks like MIB with a chance to show off modern special effects more so than the things that made MIB 1 enjoyable for me.
Wow another sequel. My body can't take much more of this.
I'd rather spend my $7 at the hurricane simulator I saw at the local strip mall.
I thought that the recruiting scene from the first film was brillant.
I'll keep my fingers crossed on this one.
Jones! Smith!
Don't let me down!
MTE. I love Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, so despite MiB2, I've got to have hope! It's been awhile since Will's done an (action)comedy, hasn't it?
… I just realized, next year will be 15 years since MiB came out. Wow.

One scene gave me horrible Time Cop flashbacks, but overall….it might not be too bad. It depends on how much they'll focus on the "Dude dis is de Seventies, there's no internetz/cell phones/insert modern medium here !" stuff.

What ? Dude, overkill ?
@No:
What ? Dude, overkill ?
Kids love repetition. I watched Monsters, Inc. and Spider-Man 2 each at least two times every week as a kid, for like three months. xD
Anyways, I loved the original MIB as a kid, and the trailer looks great, so I'm gonna watch it. Will Smith looks like stepped right out of the nineties, hasn't changed one bit. It's kinda weird seeing him in a "fun" role again, after all those films in which he played serious characters.
Second trailer is out.
Just gonna say that that Andy Warhol bit was funny as hell.
I wish it were some sort of sequel crossover with Wild Wild West.
I think I'm the only person alive who liked Wild Wild West, or so it seems at times. It was just so damn quirky I couldn't help enjoying it.
@No:
What ? Dude, overkill ?
When I was a kid I watched Wayne's World daily. Even though I didn't get any of the adult humor jokes.
It's what kids do. watch one favorite thing over and over until its memorized.
Damn, K's 70 years old in the current MiB timline and still running around like he is? Talk about your universal healthcare…

Nonono, I liked Wild Wild West too Buuhan, it was a fun movie.
I like Wild Wild West, but in the same way as I like Space Jam or Nic Cage flicks where I refuse to acknowledge them as "good movies."

I like it too and Space Jam but not because of "It's so bad it's good" aspects.
Just thought I'd bump this thread back up since the movie opens this week. The film currently holds a 68% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and (for what it's worth) Ebert gave it three stars and called it the best MiB movie.

So…yeah. Better than MiB II, I guess. I'll probably see it on Saturday.
I may see the midnight showing tonight.
I saw it last night. It wasn't that good.
Good amount of plotholes (as expected) and some of those moments where it is supposed to be a joke and youjust get that awkward silence throughout the theater made the film hard to watch at times.
Saw the movie today. Gotta admit, I really enjoyed it. No, it's not as good as the first, but it's a worthy sequel and certainly better than the second one. A lot of the jokes were really funny and the film actually had some real genuine development between J and K. I also like that…
! There was no Jeeves or Frank and the worms were kept to a minimum.
Now, that being said, there are of course some issues I have with the movie.
! The writing in the first 15 minutes or so was kinda weird. The jokes in that time weren't that great and the characters did a lot of little things that made me go, "eh?"
! Then there was the scene with young K meeting young J, and I have quite a few questions regarding that scene.
-Why was young J at that middle-of-nowhere beach in the first place?
-Did young K ever tell young J what happened to his father? I mean, he was a military man, so that's not exactly easy to cover up and shouldn't he be aware that his father died in action? From the earlier scene I got the impression that J's dad just walked out on him, but with him turning out to be in the military, well….it just doesn't add up.
-Why exactly did young K neuralize him anyway?
! Also, the Agent O subplot was kinda pointless and didn't go anywhere.
So yeah, if you're a Men in Black fan, I'd say check it out, but don't expect too much. If you're not that big of a fan, I'd say skip it. Maybe wait for the DVD.
Best thing about the movie was the 6 minute Spider-man preview that played before it. Seriously though better than the second one but still nowhere near the first. Save your money or go watch The Avengers again.
Everyone's saying that Josh Brolin as a young Tommy Lee Jones is the best thing in the movie. Would you agree?
Probably. He was great. I'm a MIB fan and a Will smith fan so as long as It wqs better than MIB 2 it was gonna hard for me to dislike the film.
Yeah Brolin was spot on as a young Tommy. Also it's good to have the Fresh Prince back making movies again
I really enjoyed it myself; granted, part of that is how much better it is than Men in Black II, but I would have enjoyed it even without taking that into account.
It's really fast paced (it's a Sonnenfeld film after all), but I think that people who haven't seen either of the first two films will catch on quick. Like Nobodyman said, the first fifteen minutes or so just tosses you right into the middle of things and is a bit stiffer than the rest of the film.
Far as the past goes, no Agent C, but he might have started working with K later on. I don't think the television show ever mentioned him either for that matter.

Eh… somewhat. He does a great job as a young K, but the character simply wouldn't work half as well without Will Smith to play off of.
It was alright, though the jokes at the beginning of the film were terrible.

C? K's old partner who appeared in the first 5 minutes of the first film? I thought he was Agent D. Oh well, yeah, it was a bit disappointing not seeing him. And yes, I actually do think he appeared in the TV show (in the episode where the guy was traveling back in time to get rid of the founding members of MiB).
Eh… somewhat. He does a great job as a young K, but the character simply wouldn't work half as well without Will Smith to play off of.
Pretty much this. I actually really enjoyed Jemaine Clement (who needs to be in more movies, btw) as the villain.
Saw it, yeah it was kinda meh. I liked that, unlike the second film, it didn't retread the first movie and indeed none of the characters from the first two are here save for J and K (Frank only gets about two passing mentions, the worms a brief cameo and
! Zed is confirmed to have passed on. This I was a little disappointed with. I liked Zed). The time travel concept was interesting as was the theme of destiny (though I pretty much saw the conclusion coming a mile awhile once they met that general) and how it shapes thing. Was funny seeing a young K interact with J. Bolin really did a good job with the part.
The downside is that there is entirely too much talking and stretches where hardly anything happens (The Factory scene was a major missed opportunity for an action sequence. Instead used for some lame jokes about Warhol) and the film just really seems to lack the energy of the first two movies. Yeah Part II may have recycled some things but it kept ya interested. The villain here wasn't even all that interesting, if anything he's just a guy who kickstarts the plot. I forgot he was even in the film half the time and he puts up a pitiful fight in the climax considering all the buildup on how dangerous he is. Not to say his actor, Jemaine Clement, wasn't enjoyable they just didn't do much with him. Likewise with Tommy Lee Jones, whose only in the film for one half of the movie before Bolin takes over.
It has some good jokes though (the time jump, the 70's headquarters and their old equipment, some of Griffin's dialogue as well as the ending) and yeah the story pretty passable but it not quite at the level of the first movie though. A good time killer but your not really missing much.
I think I'm the only person alive who liked Wild Wild West, or so it seems at times. It was just so damn quirky I couldn't help enjoying it.
I love that film, to me its only flawed cause the writers kept jumping from once scene to the next without explaination. It would've worked better if they had more focus on the story. Everything else was pretty spot on.
I loved Wild Wild West, mostly for Kevin Kline and Kenneth Brannaugh. Sorry, Will, you were outclassed.
So I just saw the film earlier today. It was pretty good; got better as the story moved on. The beginning was really awkward though. I feel the movie tried too hard to be funny, and suffered for it. Anyway, it's been out for about a week, but in case someone coming in here still hasn't seen it, I'll keep my observations in spoiler tags.
! Did we ever find out what the event that changed Agent K was? They brought it up at several points but we never actually got an answer. None of the things that happened during the climax could have conceivably changed him that much. I suppose it was inevitable: movies about time travel always run into these sort of holes.
! Speaking of the climax, it was pretty badass. J's time travel trick to knock Boris off the platform was awesome. It was obvious the colonel was J's father, but the reveal was still touching since the characters were likable and shared some genuine interactions. Though when Griff said that death would still happen, I almost thought it was Agent J that was going to die. Would've worked better as the event that changed Agent K, and seemed to have been foreshadowed with K's line: "If you're half the agent you say you are, you'll die protecting me" (or something like that). Not sure if the timelines would've matched up properly, but whatever.
I'm going to go ahead and admit I liked the first two movies better. Yes, I include MIBII.
It wasn't a bad movie, it was just … forgettable. I feel that the main things I was interested in were Griffin, who was a great character, and Jemaine, who was tragically underused. Still, it's always fun seeing him being weird.
I was pleasantly suprised. Seems like they found their way back to what made the first film so great.

It was actually quite awful, with the only redeeming feature being a backstory between Kay and his partners father.
My initial reaction was this:
But I think I'll just play it cool until I hear more about it and see who's actually in it…if it even moves forward.
21 Jump Street/MIB crossover?
Well, actually, that kinda makes sense with Jump Street… but it makes zero sense for MIB.
MIB is a screwed franchise anyway. The movies (or at least the first one) are fondly remembered because of SMith and Jone's chemistry, but they were never all that good. The cartoon was great, for the most part, but the movies never really lived up to that potential..
But mostly this is a crossover that makes little sense.
^ Pretty much .
It's happening.

But what's MIB without Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones? It hasn't even been 5 years since the last MIB movie. Admittedly, there are plenty of agents to work with so, meh, it's possible.

Better off, if the cartoon is any indication.

Guess 21 Jump Street will officially be wrapped in black:ninja:

We know Tommy is.
