Unless Patherlily did something amazing after I dropped it, he was always sort of a dull shonen character for me.
Fairy Tail Discussion III
-
-
I'm just saying that Panterlily is a decent characther, now the rest of the cats can die in hell.
-
Why is he a decent character?
-
Oh yeah, Happy's trolling is actually funny. Like the one time he trolled Erza when she got dumped by Jellal.
-
Happy indeed used to be one of my favorite characters. At least the time when he spent more time trolling, saying random things ("Lucy, there is juice coming out of your body", at least that's random when it's sweat and not other kinds of juices he's referring to) or even wisecracking instead of just being the cat version of Wendy (that is, a character that only seems to be along for the ride to be a cute child).
So while some people will insist that Fairy Tail was always terrible, there WERE points where it was decent enough.
-
I only hate Charles and Lector (and all the fonders from Edolas). Fro n Happy are annoying but ok. LOVE Pantherlily n Sam.
-
Happy was one of my favorite parts of Fairy Tail, he was such a lovable little troll.
By the time I got tired of FT he was the only part of the comic I still liked. One of my favorite moments with Happy was at the end of the chapter Erza made out with Jellal and he teased her about it. It's like Mashima knew we were rolling our eyes the whole time and tried to throw us a bone for once.
-
Happy is lots of fun. He is like a little boy growing up, Charlie is kinda okay, she fits with Wendy as the annoying know-it-all child. Pantherlily likewise fits with Gajeel. All the other cats should go.

The chapter is kinda meh. -
So…the whole going back 1 minute in time thing was kinda pointless, wasn't it?
-
The saving grace of this chapter was at the end when Mashima leaves a message that sounds like the next Chapter or next few, will be the last of this god awful series. Honestly, the man has good artwork, although I wish he wouldn't do so much fan service, but we need a good story to back it up. Hopefully his next project will be better (It'd be an achievement in itself it if was actually worse than FT). The rest of the Chapter, and 2 previous chapters don't matter at all because now it seems like everything's just going to be reset in terms of events happening, just memories will exist.
-
It seems like Mashima's ideas about time are getting more and more awful and confused… apart from that, Natsu defeats future Rogue with boring power burst (identical to many, many other times) and randor rethorical speech, copypasted from a middle schooler's diary. Standard Fairy Tail chapter, I'd say.
-
Wow, I was going to comment on how Lucy using that diary was a great way to make her useful, but it's nullified when Natsu carries out the plan without even knowing what's going on. Why isn't Lucy fighting alongside her friends again? Wendy is doing it, what's her excuse?
I'm amazed again by how rushed everything is. In the same chapter we learn about destroying the gate, Natsu punches Rouge through it. This would all be better spread out a little more. I felt nothing for Rouge's defeat here.
-
Nowadays, Lucy is only here for fanservice: she only fight if fanservice is included. That's how Mashima decided to use her…
-
Honestly, when I read that they were going to destroy the gate, I knew that Natsu was going to smash Rogue through it (and, presumably, the castle - even though both of Charle's visions have taken events horribly out of context, those events still happened) - I just figured it would be after several chapters of the dragon slayers fighting and defeating the dragons. I don't know whether it's a good thing or a bad thing that it happened so quickly - on one hand, it feels a bit rushed, but on the other, the dragons are (barring Zilconis and Atlas Flame) not really individuals, but seemingly mindless threats, so I doubt that the individual fights would be all that interesting.
Then again, we don't know if destroying the gate will get rid of the dragons (though the title of the next chapter suggests that, there have been times where it's been misleading), so I'll just see how it goes next week.
-
Some huge shouting by Natsu and Rogue.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh.
Oooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
And the arc's over.Phew.
Next chapter has a happy ending, and we can have a new arc finally.

Don't get your hopes up - the translator's note says it's referring to some kind of special, presumably the full colour one that's described on the cover page.
-
I didn't feel anything throughout the whole chapter.
-
God this was lame… I mean, it was well drawn, but me not giving a damn about the characters and context completely kills any possible investment I could get for the events. Lucy still being full of fail certainly doesn't help and the last 2 chapters being utterly pointless (specially since by some bullshit Ultear will be AOK). Sigh, really hope this closes the series, and if it doesn't, I hope Mashima starts pretending he can do anything remotely complex and just sticks to a standard brawling arc without retarded twists and lots of fights, because that's all that the series has going for it right now.
-
I don't think time can snap back like that Mashima
I mean he just drew the whole timeline theory a few chapters ago
Way too convenient for Natsu to knock Rogue into the gate as well, almost like that was supposed to happen….. -
…............
......................
.......
....
i...
can't..... -
this future rogue arc is just a filler right? no wonder the anime got canceled, mashima already handle the filler episode…
-
http://www.mangapanda.com/fairy-tail/336/7 So why did Ultear not think of doing this exactly ?
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Meh chapter.
I could maybe care for all the talkie bits if Future Rogue wasn't such a one dimensional character who'se goal and entire personality is literaly "take over the world".
-
"The Golden Plains"? Oh, so I guess next week everyone's going to die anyway.
At least this time I thought that Natsu's victory was sensible and the destruction of the gate fits in with Fairy Tail's 'thing'. And well, the art was still aces.
-

-
probably the destruction of the gate will not have the effect that everyone hopes
-
You've gotta be ****ing kidding me! After all this buildup for the dragons, this is how the arc is resolved? **** you Hiro Mashima. **** YOU! That's all I can really say.
-
Lucy's NOT in a revealing outfit O.0. Abd F Rogue got 1 shot. BUT OMFG NO friendship speech?!
-

Now that you mention it, future Lucy dieing fulfilled the prophecy Carla/Charle saw in a cheap copout. I didn't think about it before.

Fortuneteller characters in your main cast are almost always a bad idea. Because either they:
Say ominous things about a "shadow of death" on the main character every time the show up, see Coco (Toriko) as nothing else then cheap drama, or
what they predict makes no sense because the author did not care to make the events follow any kind of pattern or make sense.
-
I can confirm that no mods like this series. I can also confirm that it wouldn't be funny.
Brennen, i just found out you're a time traveler. Would please explain how exactly time traveling works in Fairy Tail? I can't seem to make sense out of it.
-
"Go back, to your own time!"-natsu dragneel to future rogue
i guess natsu forgot that he and some of the other aren't even from that particular time as well. they are seven years into the future from their own timeline, so natsu shouldn't talking. funny thing is that i think mashima himself might have even forgot about that.
-
Wait a second: did the anime actualy have a fillerc arc about the Oracion Seis ?
-
@No:
Wait a second: did the anime actualy have a fillerc arc about the Oracion Seis ?
Yeah. It was pretty good at first. Then it became goddamn terrible. TS Oracion Sies were Legit tho.
-
Mishama always fails with the follow thru. It's like he doesn't like bad things happening in his mangas so he resolves everything quickly. Because of this he can never write any real tension. Unfortunately there will ALWAYS be a happy ending.
-
Where's future Natsu?
-
He died from overdose on friendship power up.
-
Well that's….sickening lol

And who, pray tell, is that ? :ninja:

what kind of monster he is to make 2 triple chapters in a row?
i knew he is good and fast at drawing but..damn
-
I'm sure the plot will suffer even more for it, don't worry.
-
This post is deleted!
-
The plot's awful and as rushed as possible even when he's not publishing multiple chapters at once: I highly doubt this'll make much of a difference.
Got to admire his work ethic, though.
-
That's impressive and absolutely insane no matter how you slice it. He doesn't even take any breaks aside from magazine holidays. Mashima.exe.
-
He really is the polar opposite of Togashi
-
Well, nothing to say: Mashima is sure a great professionist and a very good artist. Too bad he sucks at storytelling… give him a scriptwriter, please!
-
Huh? What? Anyway, it's a shame he doesn't just work together with a writer to make a better story like many others have done.
-
Well, this is interesting. The last time he had three chapters in the same issue, we got the reveal that Zeref was still alive, so I'm looking forward to seeing what will happen in the next few weeks.
-
So what if we join mashima and togashi toguether?:ninja:
-
He did three at one point didn't he ?
And Hiro, why not slow down and instead focus on the story ? Or the broken remains of one to be exact ?
