And Fairy tail's trend of good chapters comes to an end. Now the plot starts to collapse in on itself.

I thought I was reading Beelzebub for a second. To be fair, Laxus pre-timeskip was stronger than Erza, and he actually went and did training.

The one-shooting wasn't that bad, but the buildup to an "anti guild" was stupid as it doesn't made sense.

And now the tournament is over, as the Crisis is coming, I was having fun..

Personally, I liked the chapter. From the beginning, I didn't figure that Raven Tail would do too well - aside from the chapter's title, there's also the fact that they've mainly gotten so many points due to blatant cheating. Really, only two of the five people there (Ivan and Obra) would even be a remote threat to Luxus, and Obra was taken out first for that reason.

On top of that, there's Luxus' general performance in the series so far - in his own arc, he fought Mistgun, followed by Natsu and Gazille at the same time, and prior to the time-skip, he did the best out of anyone during his fight against Hades. I'm not sure what some of you were expecting, but I figured from the start that this would be one-sided in Luxus' favour, and it was cathartic seeing these characters getting defeated after all that they've done.

overall decent chap, but i did,nt expect RT getting raped like it was nothing. In terms of villians only azuma left a lasting impression as some one worthy to some degree, the rest have been very dissappointing. Am starting to wonder will Hiro ever introduce a
serious and interesting villian

Pretty much. It may have been a short fight but it was good (and to be expected) nonetheless.

What else of importance happened in this week's chapter?

Fairy Tail's 'dark' secret was mentioned again and made me quite curious to say the least. The next arc or the one after that will probably focus on it. Let's see what Mashima has in store for us.
The little Lucy 2.0 from Lamia Scale has some frightening power? It reminds Gerard and his gang of Zeref? No thanks. Seriously no thanks. I've had enough of Zeref and Gerard and I'd like not to see either of them for a little while longer (looks like both will reappear sooner than I expected; not just one).

Chapter was fine. Erza has still not been shown since the start of Laxus' fight last chapter, which has me a little concerned. I thought she would appear and assist this chapter, but I figured that Laxus would be able to handle them all considering Raven Tail's main method operation is cheating, not strength. Note Mavis' face as they were hauling away Laxus… she looked pissed. Combined with Gildarts' reaction to Lumen Historie several chapters ago, and it's a good sign that it has to be a big secret.

So I just caught up with this manga by reading the last 15 chapters. Which were mostly annoying, at times surprisingly uplifting and one made me sick just reading it~

Low points:

Evil member of the evil guild destroying a sock. Evilly.
Zeref, Zeref, Zeref, Zeref.
A bikini contest or whatever the heck that was.
Elfman not objecting to the possibility of pimping out his sisters.

High points:

Erza, Cana and Elfman actually pulling something off as intended.
Laxus looking good~

Chapter was fine. A badass delivering well-deserved badassery to cheating scumbags, nothing new. Obra is probably just a puppet for the little imp dude. I'm curious to see how the tournament will play out with only 7 teams now.

I'm alright with Laxus roflstomping Raven Tail. He was strong and he legitimately trained for his new strength. I'm not okay with Lucy pitying Flare…but eh whatever. I did like that the dog guy had his sock get avenged lmao.

I thought this chapter was good.

Luxus beating all 5 of them makes sense. Did people forget that he's the 2nd strongest member in FT ?
Also his victory against Ivan looks cheap at first but if you notice Ivan was holding back cause he wanted luxus to join him and his cause.

Raven Tail were never shown as being legitamate threats at all during this arc. Ever since the tournament started they had been cheating.

Yeah, Raven Tail just became the butt of a bad joke. Especially Laxus' father, and they took away Gazille's spy status at the same time. All those plot points we were somewhat looking forward to just got destroyed in one chapter.

I'm more dissapointed Laxus didn't finish off all of them at once with a single breath. The extra pages was not worth the effort.

I'm hoping the next fight surpasses the sock battle. So far that's been the only good fight in this dreadful arc.

I think Laxus's father let him win because you can his face before the fight happened just like how Laxus held back his power vs fairy tail!

This turn out feels right, despite the fact it kind of wastes the whole "spying Raven Tail" story line. It helps that Iwan hinted at something more coming later, hopefully that gets followed up on. Also, Flare ended up pretty much how I expected. It's the rest losing so hard that's a surprise.

Hopefully Wendy's fight has a good twist or is funny, otherwise I don't see a reason to care about it.

I guess that with RT's disqualification, both FT teams will merge into a single one to make things even, just so we can have the long-awaited Natsu and Gajeel vs. Sting and Rogue tag battle in the 4th day.

I'm even okay with the fact the werewolf could be a fur garment, but what about the other dude? Is he some sort of garment of Obra's robe? This makes no sense.

Anyway, would've been totally better if Mashima atleast made a full chapter with Laxus fight. This is way too much rushed.

Same as what would be considered a good chapter for any other manga. Not being utterly disappointed by a chapter doesn't make it good.

Right. And I'm not sure how this chapter is going to interfere with anyone who is familiar with Fairy Tail's sensibilities. If anything, it's nice that Raven Tail didn't beat Laxus down for a chapter before he powered up by thinking about his family.

Mashima is so predictable so I won't be surprised if Madoka turns out to be Zeref in disguise.

and I found it funny how he completely destroyed the character of Ivan in a single chapter. All those past chapters of building up Ivan as Fairy Tail's most dangerous enemy just went down the drain.

It's funny how one of the complaints is that Mashima is very predictable and then he makes Laxus defeat the entire RT team effortlessly, something that very few people predicted, but people still complain. Just admit that you guys are biased.

That's how maturing works. Somebody undergoes through mental development that takes away some of the worst parts of this somebody's personality so he can become more well-rounded and likable.

It tends to be a good thing in real life. Not so much in fiction, where the more flawed characters always end up being the interesting ones.

As far as tournament arcs go, i'm still finding it enjoyable.
I read fairy tail (and most shounen) to see some super-powered fighting. Y'know, because they're action comics.
Laxus delivered.

I didn't. Elfman might have gotten angry about it but by stating his own prize for winning the bet he still accepted Bacchus's offer. Without even consulting his sisters. Didn't like that.
