Man, some really dumb complaints here.I really dislike stories of fate and destined success. Originally, Luffy was just a guy in the world using hard work and good people skills to succeed. Now we are learning that the only reason Luffy has what it takes it because he's destined to. That's stupid in my opinion.
Well we all saw the blood transfusion thing from a mile away, the only thing I don't like about it is the parallel between Luffy and Roger(apparently Luffy can hear the voice of all things now) this is because one of the things I have always liked about One piece is that it tried not to fall under the cliche of the main protagonist being similar(sometimes even viewed as a reincarnations) to people who were greater than them. Personally to me it really reduces the importance of Luffy as a character if he is just going to be the reincarnation of Roger, I mean can't he be great without been the same as him, look at Zoro everything he has done is all him, people don't go , he can do what Mihawk can do", everything is him his name is growing without needing a boost from comparisons, so to me Oda failed me personally as a fan by doing this.

I think you're just being facetious. Throughout the entire series, several people, including Robin, Shanks, Kureha, Zeff, etc, etc, have commented on Luffy's "will" and the spirit he carries. Almost every arc, a character has commented that he carries on the will of Roger. If you haven't picked up on this yet, you've either only being casually reading the series or completely tuned it out. Even at the beginning of this arc, Rayleigh had a flashback:

As for the chapter, this was a good concluding chapter. I know Jinbe will accept, and then, the Strawhats can move on, unless Big Mom shows up since Daruma destroyed her factory (a good possibility). Though, if she turns out to be Lola's mother like everyone expected, Nami will be able to diffuse the situation.
I called it wrong, so long ago. I guess this needs to be changed.

Uh. So what do we know about the voice of all things? The only thing we know is that Roger had it. That's it. Does the fact that Roger heard the seakings even mean that Luffy has the ability to hear the voice of all things? We know nothing about it or the significance of it, similarly to the king haki. I'd be more patient with that before calling foul on it and that Luffy is a special destined person. Hell, Roger died. I don't think being the special destined person in this case is even that good.

clearly Iva did a genderswap on Dragon and with a sample of Roger's DNA he birthed Luffy. CLEARLY. (lol)

About the fate thing, maybe it's all related to the will of D (I don't know if someone already said this in the spoiler thread, I don't read it anymore anyway), but I don't really like it if it's end up begin a total cliche. Hoping Oda will delivery something different.
This chapter was good, it gave me chills. I don't think Jinbe will join, though there's a big chance of it happening, but, well, this can wait. What matters is, Caribou, where are you?

True, but you're jumping to conclusions. We know that Luffy carries on Roger's Will and the Will of the "D". We don't know exactly what the voice of all things is… that is, if it was specific to Roger, or specific to those that carry the D, or just something to do with Ambition/Haki. Although we know a great deal more about Haki than we used to, it could have secrets we're not privy to yet.

Well, if it makes you feel any better, you could always hope that Jinbe will get a head concussion like Goku did as a child, which will reverse Jinbe's personality back to how it was in the flashbacks. His future quirks will be almost killing every enemy within sight, and the strawhats will be trying to hold him back.

On another note, it's confusing between MR's and MS's translations. I don't have the actual script, so I don't know which is more accurate regarding the mermaids' discovery.
As for the poetic narration during the transfusion, MR's is definitely more accurate.
Otherwise, they're pretty much the same… rushed quality.

Read it and this is my take.
I enjoyed the chapter. Felt the flow was nice and we had some nice dialogue and some "trivia" time as well. Like Choppers monster point, the voice of all things, the F blood type the law still in action and so on.
Oda made a good job of letting us know that the life in the story itself does not stop when SH's are battling their foes, so we see Caribou stealing the treasure together with an interesting chest.
We finish the chapter with a good cliffhanger now I am not all that interested in the answer though, but more in what's next, how will this story develop and go on…Nice read, now I will wait for the insights of others and think about their intake.

Similarities in personality are ok with me. Not inheriting special abilities that will lead to success. Destiny is one of the most overused plot lines and I thought OP was free of it. I was very wrong.

At first, I was expecting Luffy to ask for meshi. Yeah ! Jinbe is joining ! The straw hats are even stronger than before.Oh Sanji… I wouldn't mind Robin nursing me as well :wub:.
