While I agree with this, many people(including me) were saying the same thing about Negima, and well that didn't work out well.
I've never read Negima so I have no idea what the plot is like or how the story flows, or the author's work habits.

Basically the story continued for a couple of volumes after the end of a big mega arc and continuously hinted at the story moving on to a bigger stage with giving characters new powers, developing minor characters and building up for a new arc. Then it ended (or will end in a few weeks).
But really don't kid yourselves, any and all loose ends could be tied up in one panel references if mentioned at all. It would be rushed as hell and it would suck but the point is that don't think all those unresolved issues have any bearing on whether Togashi will end the manga or not (after all Yu Yu had it's fair share of unresolved plot threads that were rushed to a conclusion in the last few chapters). It's up to whether he has the energy for it and nothing else.

Well that just…sucks.
I remember how Shiina Takashi went on to continue GS Mikami after finishing off his big ass "Astaroth storyline" in the same, episodic style he did before and then he just sort of suddenly stopped. Was realy downed by that (I actualy enjoyed the characters, baring them sometimes ruining stuff for themselves by succumbing to their character cliché in a way that made me want to slap them), so I can kind of relate to what you must have felt about that.
I love how Gin resembles Yusuke so much.
Woah… Ging really do resemble a boar. Nice. XD
Hunter X Hunter is not ending any time soon.
Come on, Togashi may be a lazy as hell writer but he's not a bad one. He's not on the same level of writing when he was just doing YYH.
I don't see it ending though. I'm actually looking forward to the HxH association to become boring. :)

But he's still the same man. He's done it before, so he can do it again.
Hell, his 5 years of hiatus in a 7 year period speak volumes.
I loved all the chapters up to this one this just…. it felt like a complete turn around from everything that was happening and just unfulfilling, the end was just, empty
what happened to his plan with the ant cacoons, and gon finally meeting his dad accomplishing his goal, I just thought it'd be more dramatic and memorable, it just didn't feel like a hunter x hunter chapter especially not one to end the arc with a new chairman being elected and gon meeting his father the goal of the entire manga

But even if I'm willing to believe Togashi could be capable of ending HxH at the end of this arc the situations are different.
YYH never really had much of (if any) of an overarching plot. It has always been a series where the main characters, through some means or another, have been dragged from one case to another. The series could've easily ended after the Dark Tournament. Or after Chapter Black. There really wasn't too many other places you could go with YYH. The ground had more or less been treaded upon already.
HxH on the other hand has tons of stories yet to tell. As I mentioned a few pages back there are so many different ways the story could go, the very least of which being Gyro who basically had half a chapter introducing him as THIS IS A BIG THREAT OF A CHARACTER THAT WILL BE SEEN IN THE FUTURE. Not to mention Welfin, Hina, and Bizef are all heading his way, meaning he is going to play a big part of the future of Hunter X Hunter. And even if we completely discount Gyro, there's still other situations like Kurapika and the Spiders (especially Chrollo's situation) that are going on that will definitely be seen in the future.
There's no way, no chance that even though Togashi is extraordinarily lazy is he ending HxH so soon. He's become better of a writer than THAT at least.
I actually think Gon meeting Ging was one of the highlights of the series. It's so hilariously anticlimactic/unexpected that he is the way he is and they finally "meet" the way they do. And it's absurdly fitting that a man who was seen in fantasies as being a kind of idealized and superb human being… Is just this very flawed, human, midgety, hobo, kind of dickish guy.
The plot with the cocoons is still there. I also agree with The Beast on the meeting. Off-chapter topic: So is Gon's previous form just a build-up of physical power he gained, or is it what he'd look like as an adult? If it's the latter, I suppose he takes after his mom in his older appearance looks.
I think that just him hulking out with nen to whoop up on some ants. I don't think that was a real indication of what he may look like in the future. But with the way he hurls rocks and stuff I would be suprised if he didn't look like Biscuit when he got older lol.
It's sad that Gon couldn't fulfill his resolution to meet Ging with Killua and tell him - "This is my best friend!" Remember the end of GI?
I was more than disappointed with that first meeting between Gon and Ging.
The main reason why Gon actually started his journey and then this "okay-i-need-another-hiatus-soon-so-iam-going-to-give-less effort-to-draw-the-chapter" style…geez!!
Also i would have loved to see Gon in his critical state, just like we saw Luffy in such a condition in ID.
Well, at least Killua is now next week..also fine stuff.
Just re-read the chapter. Damn, i love gin… i mean,ging xD
"Somebody stop this child neglector, buhoo" xD
Anyone know where I might be able to buy an Ickshonpay mask in the future?
Damn! Pariston just gained my respect
Anyone know where I might be able to buy an Ickshonpay mask in the future?
Don't think a character who only appeared like 1 or 2 times will get his own merchandise article.
Heck, It's a very simple design, why not make one yourself?
Take one Mickey Mouse mask and add some heroin, undersleeping and C++ and voila! You got yourself an authentic Ickshonpay.
I'm on the first episode of the final round to the Hunter exam…holy freaking fudge, this is terrible! ;(

EDIT:
WOW THAT EPISODE WAS AWESOME
F-yeah Togashi, nice job!
Hey can anyone point me to the chapter where Bisuke says that Ging is one of the top 5 nen users in the world. Can't find it for the life of me.

Volume 14, chapter 138.
Episode 19 was good episode, but is it me or should have been the fight Kurapika vs Hisoka first?
The old version felt a bit more brutal then this one to be honest, i think it was bit too fast overall, the laughing part was missing something.

Yeah, the old series has Kurapika vs Hisoka first, so Gon have seen the fight. However, the manga really do Gon vs Hanzo first, and Satotz just told Gon of what happened to all the following fights. The new series chose to be faithful to the manga on this one.

I see , i didnt remember the exact order from the manga its been a while.
Couple of things:
Thought the meeting was a bit anticlimactic but the whole arc was pretty fucking climactic and I suppose I couldn't have expected anything less for Gon's first meeting of Ging. Quite tickled, both by the meeting and our pal Pariston.
With regards to the manga "ending" I really don't get that vibe. There are plenty of plot threads to resolve, and Togashi has been setting up Jairo to be the next big bad since the Chimera arc with multiple references to the character before and since coming back from the hiatus. Hunter X Hunter is not ending soon (i.e. within the next few chapters), and Togashi is not going back on hiatus soon, not with the anime running concurrently with his serialization! Quit yer rabble-rousing!
For that matter, it could be a year or more before Naruto and Bakuman end: and if Kubo says Bleach is in its final arc it won't be done in the next TEN years, with his pacing.
Finally, I'm really enjoying the anime, especially the last couple of episodes. I feel it has a really good grasp of the characters, its pacing is fine and its direction is on point. Could do with a better soundtrack, though.

I disagree. I think the soundtrack is great.
Yeah, the soundtrack is definitely one of the better points of this series. That and the visual upgrade. The only thing that disappoints me are all of the violence cuts. In the last episode, they refused to show any contact in that battle, which I think is a little ridiculous considering that there wasn't even anything really graphic about the content here. It was just Gon getting slugged in the gut and otherwise slapped around.
That episode was pretty good. I preferred the older version as it was more brutal, but I didn't think think one was bad. I did love the face faults of everyone when Gon really switched to stubborn kid logic mode. I don't remember Killua being this upset about Gon changing the tide of the fight though.

Granted in the manga, there's a "time lapse" of Gon getting beaten aside from the initial chop if my memory serves me right, Togashi didn't show it either. Gon's just on the floor.
The first anime had made Gon a glutton for punishment though, sweet jesus.
I don't remember Killua being this upset about Gon changing the tide of the fight though.
It's actually a pretty big deal in the manga. Next episode, Killua will ask Hanzo something that will make Leorio and Kurapika reconsider his character.

…..Is this supposed to be sarcasm ? O.O
I don't think he has read the manga or even seen the old anime. I'm pretty sure he's actually being serious when praising Togashi on this one.
I actually really enjoyed that "fight" in the manga. Sure it's strange but it's interesting due to being unconventional and it tells us a lot about Gon's character.
i just re-read hxh and remember this woman, has it been established who is that female figure on the bottom panel? im very curious
!
It's Illumi .

This series has so many traps that even Admiral Ackbar is telling Togashi to knock it off.

thanks for that laugh, I needed that.
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
From the chapter Togashi is sick, but the chapter doesn't reveal hiatus or not. Getting worried
noooooooooooooooooooooooo togashi!!!!! im sure its just a cold. RIGHT? RIGHT>
anyway, spoiler for 336
! lumi found out the truth regarding Nanika.
! Nanika only listens to Killua's commands because (s)he wants Killua's praise.
! Killua's command has no risk.
! Ilumi tried to control Killua, Killua commanded Nanika to knock Ilumi all the way back to their home.
! Killua told Tsubone and Amane that he wants time with Nanika alone.
! Killua command Nanika to never appear again. Nanika cries but agrees.
! Alluka awakes, becomes angry saying Nanika also needs to be protected.
! Killua apologizes, Nanika returns. (don't ask me, that's what it says)
! Killua's warning level is now removed.
! Togashi is sick. No word on hiatus, but seems likely.

Yeah, same here and…
! Aluka's 'wish' is apparently cheap.
EDIT: Oh, more than cheap, it's FREE! coughbadwritingcough
I just hope for some nice art this time.
Laziness thy name is hire some goddamn assistants.
I just hope for some nice art this time.
Just saw the raw and to answer your question
! There isn't. The pages are very bland, no single backgrounds in any pages. Many blank panels with absolutely nothing other than the characters. Simple buildings designs, flashback panels, solid black panel backgrounds.
! Granted he was sick, but it looks like he didn't try very hard at all. Or had no assistants to work on the backgrounds. None of the characters or figures were as sloppy as last weeks chapter though.
So I'll… translate this I guess...
"If I suppose the possibility that the compensation for the PC was the fingernail, even if we compare it to past experiences, the levels of the "wish" and "request" match.
If this supposition is correct, this leads to the logical conclusion that the playing dead and petting were not Nanika's "requests" and the two-choice "wish" did not require compensation."
Looks easy enough to understand so far..

L](http://mangastream.com/read/jpreview/94032641/10)ol mangastream, they just couldn't let it go. I wonder how Viz will react to this?
they already said they are conforming to Viz's boundaries set for them, plus it's just like spoiler text, so long as pictures aren't uploaded its all gravy.
Kewl's translation is on mangahelpers, it won't take long for the scan to come out on mangareader.
Thanks Kewl!
! Ha! So, the way Killua asks (or orders, I suppose) makes all the difference? When he makes a wish, he uses "shite" and needs to complete 3 pesterings. When he gives an order, he uses "shiro," and there's no cost. So, basically, there was a difference in how he was asking in previous chapters, but that difference wasn't translated because it didn't seem significant. XD Not that there was anything wrong with the previous translation . . . but had they known, they would have made an effort to make the difference in English. One would hope, at least.
