One QUESTION: If Law cut 3 Devil fruit users and put different parts of their body together the new body will have the power of 3 devil fruits?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
I guess each part would have the previous DF power before getting cut. Like guy A parts will have guy A DF's powers and so on.

Reminds me of the whole Cerberus theory way back when.
! please god don't let that happen again.

See right here, I don't see how it's not completely obvious. If Usopp needs to cross a huge gap somewhere for instance, does he sprout a grass bridge? Or something else that solves the problem easily? He used to be a handy man, being able to create weapons and other stuff with his own imagination. Now it's all just seeds he found over two years. Nothing of his own work. (Reminds me of Bulma with her stupid capsules.) The whole aspect of him being a sniper is becoming less believable. Where are his creations? Where is the creativity found in his attacks? The aspect of Usopp having invented his own weapons seems to have been lost and forgotten. The possibilities to expand on Usopp's growth were great, and Oda messed up. I mean a banana boat seed? C'mon… Why not a giant bamboo canoe? Or spinning helicopter trees to help them fly across? I mean why not? It's so very shitty.
I see your point but still i think you are overreacting a bit.
He still uses Kabuto(even upgraded it to "dark kabuto") and Nami the Clima-Tact-sticks(which she specifically asked him to modify RIGHT AFTER the TS) which he invented and just because he uses now some of his pop green doesnt include that he wouldn
t create something new. Those pop green are his pimary power-ups, so it would be kind if idiotic not to use them(and especially show what they
re able to right after the TS). It
s like Luffy not using his better attacks to easily solve a problem, one main reason why i hate the fillers, because there it sometimes feels like he forgot about his strong attacks and how he can handle fodder^^Also was it rly THAT fascinating to see Usopp solve problems by building something…i always thought his new gadgets, which he uses here and there, were great and i definitely agree with you, that those should still be used.
Sure many of his usual gadgets may now be simplified by using a pop green, but its still his creativity how to use them and i have to repeat myself, i don
t think everything can and will be solved now with pop greens.Ohh and i didn
t rly understand your point of him being less believable as a sniper because of those pop greens...ehhm yeah sure he fights now more with these, but it wasn
t like him just sniping his way through the world before (look at his previous fights, where he always fighted close-range)..here his pop greens give him a wide variety of new fighting possibilities, which i think isn`t that bad. -

http://read.mangashare.com/One-Piece/chapter-598/page014.htmlah thanks for the links, thats what makes me think Usopp had upgraded the climatact. Nami doe not have the tech skills to do that, the old men on Weatheria were horrorified at the mention of using the weatherballs as a weapon so I can't see them making it.
What makes people think she already had it was that lightening attack in that bar in the same chapter. She did not need teh climatact for such a simle thing, she had the weather balls.

@ MR. French,
""See right here, I don't see how it's not completely obvious. If Usopp needs to cross a huge gap somewhere for instance, does he sprout a grass bridge? I mean why not? It's so very shitty. ""Sory for the short answer to your elaborated post.
But damm, do you REALLY belive this is what Ussop will be doing until the end of the serires, sprouting seeds?? Not that you said exactly that, but you sound like it could be the case. Hell, we barely made it "out" of the time skip, and i would say that maybe we are at 10% of the second half of the story, maybe.
Have you forgotten all the jaw breaking twists and creativity oda gave us during all these years? Of course not, "Impossibru".
Then why be so immediatist. Its an addition to all of Ussop's qualities an abilities, NOT a substitution.
"… seems to have been lost and fogorgotten." Dude… What??!!?
sorry if my post was unnecessary, but I don't understand this kind of oppinion comming from a long term OP reader. -
I love all the complaining about Usopp not being a sniper. He still shoots but with different ammunition. I'm sure he still uses pachinkos(is that right?) and dials as well, but these plants compliment him very well. He sprouted a plant that can be used as a boat, he sprouted other plants that can be used as oars, wonderful! What is so wrong with that when Franky can build almost anything and everything in seconds? The crew has been back together for over a year now, how many old attacks has Franky shown up until last chapter? I want to say 0, but I may have missed one and everyone was waiting on Strong Right, there was no reason to think it was completely gone.
Chances are we'll see some of Usopp's older moves as well, at least the ones that are not totally out classed by his plants. Seems like Luffy hardly attacks without Gear 2 anymore, and Sanji has been unnecessarily Diable Jambe happy. Doesn't matter in the slightest.
Usopp's creativity shows in how he uses the plants and the multiple sling shots he has made to fire them. Much like the old Kabuto I don't doubt he applied dials to them as well, why would he go back on that upgrade? When Usopp needs someone to slip, maybe he'll have a plant that leaks some nasty goo, or another goey plant that makes them get stuck in sap, actually you should count on it instead of gum or what ever that was. But the moment someone needs to catch fire I bet Fire Bird Star wont be forgotten, same goes for his little explosives as well.
-
I don't get the complaints about Ussop either. If Ussop kept using the same old stuff the timeskip would've been pointless for him. Everyone has shown new techniques and Impact Wolf was even a combination of old and new. Nothing that Ussop has done so far indicates incredible hax. It's been mostly smaller displays of what he got from the Boin Archipelago. You'd think that a person following this series for 659 chapters would realize that the author would be capable enough to keep Ussop useful, but not turn him broken because he's done a fairly good job in balancing out and/or explaining the various abilities found in this series.
I even vaguely recall similar "it's too obvious cheap shounen cliché and broken" complaints about the E.S pills and look how that turned out.

One QUESTION: If Law cut 3 Devil fruit users and put different parts of their body together the new body will have the power of 3 devil fruits?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
It's not like he'd be in control of it..Each body still seems to react to the original owner..Unless that's wrong. All 3 parts would be moving at their owners will.
@Ussop Complainers.
Ussop is great. Deal with it. One Piece in general should complaint free..There's absolutely nothing wrong with any aspect of it. -
what i find dumb is that he has to grow his own, not to mention he seems to have so many different one for different occasions, what i'm finding hard to swallow is that his pop greens magically have a place to grow/come from as they progress, and mostly because the plant types are absurd. IF he was shooting super fast growing bamboo, i'd get it, but a pre-made banana boat? a wolf with a 3diameter nose that explodes like an impact dial? really?
I still like him overall though so i'll just go along with it, his reactions are classic like when he sees fake luffy and sogeking in the bar.

Nothing is flawless and OP is part of that. It's my favourite manga by far but it does not lack flaws. Usopp's lack of old tactics/weapons so far is one of them, in my eyes.
-
I cannot find any flaws, maybe I'm alone in that. I've never read or something that made me question any part of the progression or development of characters. It's my favourite manga for that reason..I never have to worry where it's going because I've loved every part of it.
-
Happy to see some brook development he seems to be at ryummas level of swordsmanship i wasnt sure about him before the timeskip but now he's one of my favorites.

Of course this kind of thing is a matter of opinion, but nothing ever is flawless. Why do you think Skypiea, Thriller Bark, Fishman Island or even Enies Lobby are so divisive arcs among fans? Why do you think some people have such a hard time getting into the series? That alone shows that the series is definitely not flawless.

-
In fact Oda did maintain an important quality of Ussop: Anytime longnose finds something, he will use it to improve his technique and his skills… it was the same with those great dials from Skypiae... but soon after they are getting annoying to both - him and the reader - Oda ... ehm Ussop comes up with something different.
-
what i find dumb is that he has to grow his own, not to mention he seems to have so many different one for different occasions, what i'm finding hard to swallow is that his pop greens magically have a place to grow/cokme from as they progress, and mostly because the plant types are absurd. But Heracles explained right from the get go that POP greens are instantaneous growing plants, there was no surprise, it was set up before the skip. Usopp had an entire island to explore for different types, I expect 50-100 differet types by the time all is said and done. Plus Oda wanted a gardener, now Usopp has inherited those traits, why wouldn't he grow his own? They are instant growers anyway so the supply of seeds should never be an issue.
There are so many shapes of leaves in the world, him having one that can be used as a boat is extremely natural. It's 10 times more believable than a knotted rope that creates gales. We should be expecting plants that the crew can climb on like rope, use as parachutes, hang glide from, store items in, use as natural shields, make slippery sap, sticky sap, thorns as caltraps, plants that explode like grenades, etc. All these examples come from plants that are found in real life. With a little manga logic the possibilities are endless and natural considering where they all came from.
-

because people have different likes and preferences? people who are into one piece only because of certain aspects of the series doesn't have to like the others. That doesn't mean there is something wrong with those aspects, it's just they don't like it.
I hate horror movies, but is not because they have flaws, I just don't like the genre.
These questions are a horrible example for your point. -

@Don:
Also was it rly THAT fascinating to see Usopp solve problems by building something…i always thought his new gadgets, which he uses here and there, were great and i definitely agree with you, that those should still be used.
It would be called continuos character growth. He'd be still that guy that would be creative in his own fighting techniques. Meaning, he'd add his creative input through his own labour into his weapons. He wouldn't just take a seed, and shoot it, and watch it sprout to solve a problem instantly. You don't see why that sucks? At the very most, Usopp is now good at combos. That's all I can say.
@Don:

what i find dumb is that he has to grow his own, not to mention he seems to have so many different one for different occasions, what i'm finding hard to swallow is that his pop greens magically have a place to grow/come from as they progress,
Why is that hard to believe? Some plant seeds in real world can germinate within hrs after being exposed to water. If the ammount of timing seem to be a problem, The strawhats made it half way across the globe in a matter of months, yet in history, we hear that explorers taking months to get from A to B.
and mostly because the plant types are absurd. IF he was shooting super fast growing bamboo, i'd get it, but a pre-made banana boat? a wolf with a 3diameter nose that explodes like an impact dial? really?
Actually we do not know the size of the nose itself, its the area of the explosion that we know= the explosion will affect a 3m radius.
Why are sponaneous growing plants hard to swallow in a manga that already had a different type of unseen plants we know exist because we've seen the various fruits of it. The fruits of this unseen type of plants allow people to change to into firery birds, change the flesh into rubber, allow a person to bloom body parts, ect. The fruits of this unseen type of plant have very few similar traits, for instance they have swirly designs and curse the consumer to never be able to swim again.
IF we can believe in the powers and varity of the Devil Fruits, even though we never have seen the plants that create them, why not believe in another type of plants that have the shared traits of having round seeds and rapid growth? as for varity…..well I already mentioned how varied the Devil Fruits are. I have to agree with RomanceDawn, we will likely see more to come.
In many manga we have to suspend logic and be able to DISbelieve to some degree in facts to enjoy the series. IF we have trouble with the varity or way Pop Greens grow, then we have to have trouble with the fact the world is still alive and not a giant ice ball. Because there is a contenient in shape of a wall that is 1,000m above ocean level cuts the world in two, preventing circulation from east to west, then the Calm Belts dont' have curretns, so that cuts of circulation from north to south.
This would disrupt both air and ocean currents, and that would cause an ice age. In our own world, when the Panama rose up enough and connected with the South American contient, it cut off a passage way that used to be open to the ocean curerents and that change triggered an ice age. The Himilayas are so high that they affect air currents, On one side Mongolia doesn't get a lot rain, other side gets it.
So it would be logical to expect both the Red Line and Calm Belts would make the entire OP world too hositle for life. But we never question it. Forget that there are clouds that are solid enough to be land and others are not quite as solid but are not like real clouds since they are called "white seas" and have life like a sea would- "cloud fish and clould sharks"
If the White Seas, cloud fish, Devil Fruit, and the weather in the four blues exist, why not Pop Greens?
To everyone complaining that Usopp isn't showing his usual varity (and yeah I will admit I want to see more of that) remember that while to us its been a year since the time skip, but story wise, its barely days since teh crew got back together. I am giving Usopp some time before I cry that he's not showing his usual stuff. …. yeah I still want to see the Firebird Star.
And tehre was plenty he used only one or twice before pre-timeskip --- anyone remember the AaAaAaA belt? it was used only once , the useful octo-pads were used ...maybe twice,
-
But that's exactly why One Piece or anything really isn't flawless. If it were flawless everyone would like it. There are some aspects people like in stuff and some aspects that people don't like in stuff. You really can't make stuff that pleases everyone. actually not, if something were flawless, there always be people who are not flawless, some of them would not like it even flawless things.
-
Sure… If sprouting boats and oars is attributed to his own creativity... Seriously now... Visit the chapter where Usopp fights Luffy, just to remember what Usopp was really like. And I don't know where Oda is heading with Usopp's pop greens long term, but so far I don't like it.
So basically your problem is that Ussop hasn't really used the pop-greens creatively at this point? In that case I can say that he really hasn't struggled with anything post-timeskip at this point. He doesn't need to use his brains completely yet, just like Luffy doesn't have to use his strength fully yet. They're all just out of a timeskip and had a massive power-boost. I'd say it's best to wait a few more arcs because just like with the start of the series, I assume there really won't be real struggle for a few more arcs.
actually not, if something were flawless, there always be people who are not flawless, some of them would not like it even flawless things.
You got me there, there's always people who hate on stuff for no reason without even giving it a chance. Oh well, I personally think it's a little unreasonable to think this series is flawless, but like I said everyone is free to like anything however much they want.
-
One Piece brakes most fundamental laws of physic on daily basis. Milenium Cumulonimbus and it's ecology is nothing, with right set conditions something like it could be probably physically possible (some strange polymers and gases lighter than air - can be explained). But taking matter and energy out of nowhere in no time, or making it just vanish. Can't believe someone is still bothered by this. It's just how Oda is telling the story.
-
But that's exactly why One Piece or anything really isn't flawless. If it were flawless everyone would like it. There are some aspects people like in stuff and some aspects that people don't like in stuff. You really can't make stuff that pleases everyone. I think we are using different meanings for flawless. In my opinion you are able to not like something flawless. For me, a flaw isn't the only thing that can stop someone from liking something, a flaw isn't necessarily an objective thing, what you consider a flaw doesn't have to be consideres as such by others, what you consider flawed can be considered flawless by other person, you could say everything is flawed and flawless at the same time, it just depends on the point of view.
In conclusion flawless=/=everyone would like it.When I'm talking about flaws I'm not to referring to messed up timelines or missing scars or something like that, those things are objective; I mean things like deus ex machinas, sexism, etc.. Those are subjective.
-
I just noticed that Law's new hat has the same shape as Chopper's hat. I wonder if this detail will have any meaning…
Probably just a coincidence, though.
-
Eh I like the pop greens, though I do wish Usopp did focus more on sharpshooting though.

But that's how it was at the start of the series, isn't it? he only had explosive stars, rotten egg stars, smoke stars, fire stars, tabasco stars, etc.. Once we knew everything he can do, we started seeing him being creative combining his skills, doing strategies, etc… Now oda has restarted the usopp's way of fighting so we have to wait till all of his pop greens are shown and then we'll see usopp fighting like before once again, combining the pop greens with his old stuff, if not i'll star complaining too.

About the chapter, I really enjoyed that we got the island map, I love these little things. -
Really, I am surprised at how many are complaing about Usopp but they do NOT catch the insult Usopp is giving to another manga! They should be complaing that Usopp should keep the Naruto out of One Piece
[HIDE][/HIDE] -
I truly love this chapter, really funny. Robin's fantasies was freaking hilarious, and I expect to see Robin x Usopp yaio popping up a lot soon, if not now xD And I want to see who is the shadowly guy is. Perhaps Jean Bart, or something? I can't remember his name, oops! Law, in the end of the chapter was great, although the re-introduction was kind of…. not very epic. Just opening the door, saying that Punk Hazard is his "vacation home"? Very bland, if I must say so, but I expect the Law-fangirls will swoon over his re-introduction xD
Although I was surprised when Law's former bounty before he became a Shichibukai was pretty high, as well as how he requested to be one: handing over 100 hearts of pirates to the HQ of the Marines. Very gross, and sadistic, but Oda has to bring out his sadistic personality. I mean, all we had seen of him was basically getting out of the Sabaody Archipelago, and then saving Luffy from the Marineford War, which makes people think that he's a decent guy. But while Law was saving Luffy, Bege (or maybe it was someone else?) mentioned that he was known for being a merciless killer.
Anyway, this chapter was very great, overall, with Smoker smoking cigars out of his gas mask, LIKE A BOSS!, Robin's fantasy, the mystery guy in shadows, the centaurs, that harpy girl (I certainly hope that girl is a harpy, would be cool), Smoker getting on the island, and Law coming back. All I can say that shit is gonna happen in this arc, and this arc better be great xD

I actually do agree with some of the complaints about Usopp and his pop-greens. Usopp's ingenuity seems less impressive if he happens to have a plant for the situation instead of having a device he created himself. However, I don't mind that the plants do reflect his "old style" of attacks, like the smelly plant and the flash dial like wolf bulb plant. I'm just hoping it's not a complete replacement. I also think that Usopp will use his old weaponry again. This chapter alone showed Brook using a fencing technique and Franky using his old "albiet upgraded" weaponry again, so hopefully the panchikos aren't gone forever (I'll be a bit disappointed if there is a plant that catches on fire or something of the like).
-
IT was Apoo that said that Law is known for his cruelty.
oh what is yaio? Did you mean yaoi? that would be wrong since that is boyXboy. Sicne Robin-female, Usopp-male that does not meat yaoi
But I do hope to see some art of Usopp x Robin, even if for jokes. Right now the pairing in OP art seems to be stale and old stuff.
-
Personally it's less of an issue of Usopp's power and more of an issue that he's becoming 60's Batman pulling Batboats and Batpaddles out of his utility belt.
Except Usopp has been doing that since skypiea, and no one complained. It really does not reach a Deux Ex Machina level. It's just comic relief… It's not like the boat banana was the only way they could work around the river. It was that having a river in the middles was perfect to show off the boat banana. :P
And I like that he went further into the island to get more seeds. Eventually we will get to THE SEED. The one more difficult to acquire. And that will cap Usopp's plant's power. After that he will only level up with better sharp shooting and guts :P
-
Haha, thanks for correcting me, Katzztar xD
Yeah, I agrees with you about the pairings. Nowadays, the pairings hardly make me laugh, and it's rare for me to find a good or hilarious pairing, so I certainly hope this one will inspires a whole new great pairings art xD
And as for Usopp, I'm still not sure about my opinions on his new Pop Greens…. Kind of annoying how he got everything handy nowadays, or whatever. It seems to take away some of his old creativity, to be honest. Although I guess the Pop Greens also show a whole new side of his creativity... Does that even make sense? xD I'll keep neutral on his new fighting style until I see him fighting seriously, or when we see more of him fighting, because I still feel it's too early for me to judge post-timeskip Usopp.
-
I'm kinda disappointed that the fire side will most likely end up being way less important than the ice side. The only thing worthy of notice there was the Dragon with a pair of legs stuck on it and that was it. Meanwhile, the ice side gets all the cool stuff (Law, Centaurs, Giant Kids, Samurai Head, Mysterious Gas Being, Smoker…).
-
Don't lose your hope for Usopp's sniping antics: remember he has a fated duel with Van Augur somewhere in the future. Now, Oda could go and do a Sniper vs. Plants, but. . .do you really think that would be satisfying? Hell, no. Since we saw Van Augur back at Mock Town, and Usopp's remark that no man could snipe that seagull when they couldn't even see the land, we all know these two are bound to clash, and when they do, it will be a sniping duel. It MUST be a sniping duel. . .
-
actually not, if something were flawless, there always be people who are not flawless, some of them would not like it even flawless things.
I'd just like to remind everyone that this is a made up story. It's not actually happening. It's not a matter of flaws, but of opinion. Art is opinion and point of view.
Personally, I thought the banana boat was funny. Ussop is comedy relief after all.
The biggest flaw I found in this week's issue was the hack jobbed photoshop work someone did on the cover. I was all "WHAAAAAAA?!?!?"

excuse my english but this chapter is fucking
the word "epic" is seriously over used but that's what this chapter was. So many awesome things happening at once. Every page was a jaw dropper.
also: DISCOOOO <3 if I hadn't just changed my avatar I would make it him <3

Like many other users on this forum, I was instantly reminded of Brownbeard when the centaur-boss's silhouette was shown. I swear, it looks just like him! I have no idea why he would be the leader of a group of centaurs ,if it is actually him. This is One Piece after all; Oda's always surprising his readers.
I was actually kind of shocked when Law showed up. I had a feeling he was involved somehow, but I didn't expect him to answer the door so casually like that.
I had to do a double-take when the PH guards were revealed. I was a bit disappointed when I thought that they were just normal people, but they're actually sheep-people! I don't think anyone could have guessed that!
This entire chapter was just excellent, really.I'm kinda disappointed that the fire side will most likely end up being way less important than the ice side. The only thing worthy of notice there was the Dragon with a pair of legs stuck on it and that was it. Meanwhile, the ice side gets all the cool stuff (Law, Centaurs, Giant Kids, Samurai Head, Mysterious Gas Being, Smoker…).
I lol'd. (and I agree with you.)

Thats how I feel mostly, after all its just been days for the crew since they reunited (even though its a year for us. Frankly we've only seen one incident too minor to be called a fight (Fakes on SA), one major fight(FI), and two non-combat instances (slow down underwater "land"slide and the boat/oars), that is only 4 different occasions of him using the pop greens so we have not seen much of his new style at all.
I'm still hoping to see him use more of Impact Dial in close quarters like he did on Thriller Bark agaisnt Galliant Hippo.

And now, this week's "Tater-Realizes-Something-Obvious: Oh, right, Law's crew is the Heart Pirates.
I hate myself.

If it makes you feel better. I remembered this. :ninja:
lmao…I actually hadn't thought of that. But now it's making more sense. Speaking of his crew, I wonder when we'll see the rest of them.
