General Fire Emblem Thread - At Least Mario Got a Funeral
-
-
I'm less into FE these days, but definitely going for Three Houses based on what we know so far. It looks fun and the concept has potential.
-
That would require me to get a Switch. Which I might once FE comes out and if they give us a damn release date for the new Pokemon game.
-
Free 5* voted unit is out today. You get one of the four at random.
In all my humor, I got Legendary Lyn. Honestly, I don't mind. I already had L. Azura, and the other two weren't on my 'MUST HAVE' list. That said, the two new 'Tactician' banners gave me a free 'Cecilia+2' and 'Morgan(F)'. So, I guess it's not all bad.
-
I have to wait and see more of the game before I make a decision wasn't too big on some of the shit that went down with SOV and actually burned myself out with fates.
-
If you're talking about the 'free 5* summon' in the new banner, you don't get to make the choice. You get one of the four units for free at random.

Me?
I was talking about the idea of getting Three Houses.
DragonBall Xenoverse 2 and Peach Beach Splash is enough gacha
bullshitfor me. -
I'm rather annoyed. If you're going to give us a free 5* unit, can't you let us choose? Oh well, I'll take my Azura and split.

Roy walking in here looking like a thirteen year old, but having a voice like he's trying to seduce me.
-
Roy hit puberty before it hit him
-
-
What does Lit Fam means?
-
Fam is like "dude" in british lingo, and Lit like "on fire" but also cool.
-
So I heard the upcoming Binding Blade banner got leaked. Please remember to use your spoiler tags, I need to be surprised for once right now.
-
!
! it was leaked via url, similar thing happened to the CYL3 winners. Lugh, Rutger, Idoun, Sue. No word on which ones are actual banner or free. -
Sue is a Green Bow. What are hinting on IS? WHAT ARE YOU HINTING ON?!
-
Decent selection, i guess
it's no gonzales or echidna but I'm surprised Idunn isn't a GHB or something
-
Lilina looking at Lyn with sad eyes. "You're my mother, right! RIGHT!?! DON'T LET THAT PINK HAIRED LOLI BE MY MOTHER, I CAN'T!"
That said: Sue and Idunn seem pretty solid. Really hoping Lugh can be Atk Feint 3 4* fodder, or else he'll be about as useful as his twin brother. Boys, why can't you be more like your mom?!?
-
small brain: pairing Eliwood with Ninian and Hector with Lyn
bigger brain: pairing Eliwood with Hector and Lyn with Rath
galaxy brain: pairing each main character with a pegasus rider -
Flora is too thirsty for Kent for her to notice Eliwood. And so am I.

Florina has pink hair?

The Christmas Knights were stuck in Bad Level Hell for my playthrough, so Prototype Great Knight Lowen had to step up to the plate (and Rebecca support made both of them even stronger)
I don't think I even saw a Kain or Sent support with how bad they turned out for me -
KentXLyn is an underrated support.
If he was broken like Seth, people would give a damn. It's literally SethXEirika without the age gap.
-

Purple. Whatever.

Hehehe… I used to make that mix up, since I never really knew anyone named Kent. Or Sain for that matter.
The trick to those two in that game is that you want to invent in them during Lyn's chapter. Most importantly, focus on about 5 units max. Typically, when I do a run with my absolute favorite characters only, it'd be Lyn, Kent, Wil (my boy), Matthew, and Lucius. With only those five (and Serra to heal and make tragic love to Matthew), I usually managed to get each of them to level 10+.

I tried my fuckin' best but they kept turning up dud level after dud level to the point i just gave up
My shining stars during Lyn Side were Lyn (obviously), Florina, somehow Dorcas, and Lucius
everyone else just couldn't turn up a profit but you're goddamn right if i didn't glue Serra and Matthew at the hip just for their support -
90% of the time Kent is an absolute hero for me for most of the game. I've tried using Lowen and Sain separately but Lowen is too weak, Sain is too unreliable, and they're both too slow to be regularly helpful. Kent rarely lets me down and is pretty often a mid-game god with one of high speed, attack, or defense.
Also his supports are cute.
-
Lowen benefits greatly from supporting with Rebecca. He's already a Knight on a Horse, but Rebecca lets him actually deal damage. He's basically a Great Knight, more than a Paladin.
and she benefits mutually too, supporting with Lowen makes Rebecca evasive enough that I was able to place her in the thick of things without much issue, though I think Dart helps her out more offensively, if that's what you're into -
But then I'd actually have to use Rebecca…
I know a lot of people like her but her late payoff is too small for me to put up with all the babying you have to do early to make her useful. Wil is only marginally better in that respect.

Elibe really, really wasn't a good time for archers.

Elibe really, really wasn't a good time for archers.
It may have had something to do with nomads being better in every way.

this is probably why horse archers are generally reserved for promoted classes at this point, even Astrid had to be nerfed by starting at level 1

There really has never been a good time for archers outside of Fates maybe.

Radiant Dawn is pretty good for archers if your name is shinon, having 3 range in a game that wasn't balanced for that all (and also not balanced in general) will do that for you
-
I used Rolf in both Path and RD. Shinion is probably definitely better, but I always wanted to give the kid a shot. He's not bad in RD.
Shame about the whole… Mist walking right past him to marry his brother.

well, you see, Boyd's an axe user, so whenever he did the axe user thing and whiffed by a mile, he'd say "MISSED" and Mist would think he was calling her name in the heat of battle
it's quite romantic, really -
I end up sidelining all archers by late Part 3 because archers really aren't designed for the endless waves of cavalry and armor the game throws at you from that point on.
-
Weren't archers supposed to be good in Gaiden/SoV?
-

Valentia archers are kinda their own thing separate from the idea of archers in the rest of the series
It's more apt to think of Valentia archers as ballista units because they can hit real fuckin' far and pretty strong but at the cost of lower accuracy
how good or bad they turn out is how much Valentia growths feel like having mercy on you -

They're still pretty effective. Especially when Gatrie is there to make everything better. Bless Gatrie, I love you. You are a god among men. You make Radiant Dawn worth it.
But then again, I also slap a bow on Kieran once I promote him in RD, so… Yeah.

Shame about the whole… Mist walking right past him to marry his brother.
Worst bad idea of a pairing second only to Astrid and Makalov. Never bothered considering either those supports.
-
Tellius had some weird pairings in general
I never understood why they let Jill marry her surrogate uncle

I mean Micaiah shacks up with the kid she raised.

Pelleas not being Micaiah's love interest fucked me up back in 2008, even as an idiot teenager Sothe and Micaiah was weird as shit to me

Bonus: according to the wiki, Micaiah is at least 23 (older than Ike) by Radiant Dawn and Sothe is 17.
What the actual christ is going on with this.
-
Managed to get Lugh, Thea, and Sue. Cool.

The Tellius Recollections book also marks Micaiah's "apparent" age as 15, being a slow-aging branded and all.
-
someone says something about Micaiah's age
Awakening: Hold my beer.
-
Awakening and Fates makes the age shenanigans in Tellius look like pure innocence.
Hell, I don't even think the series allowed romance with ANY CHARACTER who was a 100 year old loli. Tiki? Fae? Myrrh? Live by themselves for the rest of eternity (except Awakening for Tiki, but she looks like an adult by then). At least Micaiah and Sothe LOOK like adults or late teens.
-
Reminder that Sophia is likely olderr than Eliwood.
