They need to hold Tellius back until it's time to remake it, sorry. Radiant Dawn can't face the world again before getting proper support conversations.

I just want them to give all the supports in Radiant Dawn the appropriate attention so that the S-Rank between uh -spins the wheel- Marcia and Nolan can come across as natural
-
I don't think they'd go through the effort of completely remaking Radiant Dawn. Add more stuff? Most likely. Considering the game had a support system that let you 'support with any character in the game' without a 'real' conversation, I can't imagine them removing that. Since the main benefit of that allowed you to use whatever combination of characters you wanted, with the benefit of supporting anyone. The only thing I could see is them adding real conversations between characters who DO have specific connections.
Haar and Jill. Rolf and Shinion. Boyd and Mist. Nephenee and Heather. Oscar and Kieran. Kieran and Marcia. Lucia and Ba~…. Janaff. Ilyana and a bagel on the floor.
That I would enjoy. More importantly, I'd love more relationship endings. Especially if the 'Ike running away with Soren and/or Ranulf' remains true, just to make everyone squirm in their seats over that situation some more.
-
They should expand on the Sigrun-Oliver conversation and nothing else.

Supports were planned but one could see how they had to be cut for dev time.Regarding any Tellius remake I would happily replay either title with fresh coats of paint (maybe add in PoR maniac so i can properly torture myself), but the reason they won't anytime soon is because of diminishing returns.
They can get more mileage advertising a remake of a previously Japan-only, sprite-based 2D title like Echoes or Genealogy than a 3D title already released in the west.At least release it somewhere else so we don't either have to emulate or spend a LOT of money on two out of print games.
-
Fucking lol at the idea of dragging Lyre and Kyza's useless asses to the endgame just to get their support with Caineghis.

Man, everyone seems to worship Radiant Dawn. It's THAT good, huh?

Yay, rolled a Laegjarn! Tap battle brings me back to the 100 orb range.
Man, everyone seems to worship Radiant Dawn. It's THAT good, huh?
It's in my top 3 FE titles, personally.
-
I remember when Radiant Dawn first came out and it was divisive at best (even got a 6.5-ish review on Gamespot). I even skipped out on it because of all the mixed-to-negative things I was hearing about it despite liking Path of Radiance. Now everyone seems to like it a lot.
-
It is a very very flawed game and isn't really as good as PoR.
-
It was a very ambitious title but you can really see the seams and where the game struggled. I would have preferred if they cut the second half out and focused more on the Dawn Brigade overturning the Daein Occupation + Elincia's difficulties ruling
then you can get a third game that would be Ike's Big Dick Adventure punking on goddesses and shoving Micaiah into a locker
-
@Cyan:
It is a very very flawed game and isn't really as good as PoR.
the story is definitely weaker (part 4 is where it all stumbles)
but it's more challenging so…..
-
RD has the single best line in the franchise so it has that going for it.

Where does it rank at in very very flawed Fire Emblems?
-
Especially if the 'Ike running away with Soren and/or Ranulf' remains true, just to make everyone squirm in their seats over that situation some more.
I would start every day putting a smile on my face by reading a furious comment of "SJW ruined my FE"
But honestly, I think they went as far as they possibly could with Ike x Soren story without risking a backlash considering it was 2005 and Ike was the main character. I wonder if they would be willing to drop any ambiguity if the game was released nowadays (yeah, I have no doubt the conclusion of their story is meant to be read as romantic).
Man, everyone seems to worship Radiant Dawn. It's THAT good, huh?
Radiant Dawn itself is not that good, but it is a sequel to Path of Radiance and that should be enough. PoR cast of characters is by far the best in FE, so having the chance to get more of them is a dream come true even if RD was terrible.
"ctrl+f" "meg" "10 supports" OH COME ON!

Even IF it was terrible. IF.

I thought it was more liked is all.
-
It's been a long time since I played it, but I remember liking RD just fine. Yeah, it's got issues like most of the Dawn Brigade becoming worthless as the game goes on, but I really like the scale of it. With four parts and a huge cast of characters, I really feel like it captured the sense that this was a huge global/international conflict.

Supports were planned but one could see how they had to be…Marcia x Kieran could be canon.
Man, everyone seems to worship Radiant Dawn. It's THAT good, huh?
Radiant Dawn? Not really, though I love it. Path of Radiance? Absolutely. One of the best in the series.

See, I would love them to make it official, but there is no way. Not just because Nintendo is terrified of having gay characters to begin with, but for Nintendo to turn around an confirm that Fire Emblem's most popular male character IS GAY…
People would lose their shit. I want it though.
I thought it was more liked is all.
Radiant Dawn suffers from living in the shadow of Path of Radiance. Path of Radiance puts you through this game of wonderful characters and battles and story, and then Radiant Dawn starts off with new characters that most people barely care about. The story builds up these characters, and eventually, the returning characters. And the story crashes into this massive "One Day More" Les Miserables chaos that is both wonderful and awful at the same time.
Path of Radiance just ends up being so much more personal and enjoyable, while Radiant Dawn puts a serious face on everyone (except Oliver) and throws them into a massive pill up of chess pieces. It just doesn't match up.
That said: There is no Fire Emblem characters I love more than Tellius characters. So I put both games on SUCH a pedestal…
-
lol. Okay, so I guess RD is all about the characters. Which is fine. One of my favorite things about Awakening was the characters. And that's where Fates lagged a bit on me.
And hey look, got Helbindi even though I wasn't trying. But am I getting Hrid? Noooooo.
-
Started my December training. I seriously have 8 characters to train this month. Right now running Garon, Gharnef, Brave Hector, and Surtr. Garon and Gharnef are okay, but oh my god, Brave Hector and Surtr are freaking broken. If I can get a solid red or colorless tank to provide them with Armor March… Or maybe have Amelia tag around. I could have a tank mob...
Next round will have Ryoma+1, Summer Cordelia, Male Robin, and Raven. Don't think this squad will be as good. But hey, better movement.

I mostly agree. Radiant Dawn doesn't much to stand on without the great world Tellius already made for it. And it's why a lot of characters in that game don't feel as impactful…all of the ones from PoR are already "developed", they're just hanging around.
And the exclusive ones to Radiant Dawn sadly don't get so much spotlight. The reason why I like it more is more because of gameplay: RD was more challenging for me, it nerfed paladins from their FE9 insanity (while letting wyvern lords ascend to godhood so), and the assigning of skills lets you mix and match different builds, it's so fun.
That being said part 4 is insanely boring and it's annoying the mages are so underwhelming. it's not the most well put together game in terms of balance, but the moving pieces (for me) at least forces you to change strats on the fly.I played both games back to back last year, and as a complete package I was very impressed. But it's clear you need to play PoR to get more appreciation for RD.
-
Do not get me wrong: I adore Radiant Dawn. I love everything about it. But it is very much flawed compared to PoR.
-
After a point you realize that the Dawn Brigade get Nailah and the Black Knight in Part 1 because the final map would absolutely slaughter you without them.
-
If there's any marks against PoR in my book, it's that the game itself is both aesthetically and mechanically on the plain side.
The former i can forgive because it was the series first real foray into 3D (but seriously the models and animation are butts), but the latter sticks out to me.
PoR is a great game, but it doesn't really do anything that gives it a big oomph that FE returning to consoles should have. You could probably make PoR on the DS just as easily in terms of what it offered mechanically.that and 90% of Laguz units were dumpster tier. I'll never understand the rationale behind the idea of "let's make them amazing for a couple turns at a time, but useless the rest"
-
RD tried to do too much, with too many characters. It was cute having to go up against your own units as the Dawn Brigade or Ike's Mercenaries, but it was so frustrating how certain units were taken away from you depending on where you were in the story. I remember dumping a lot of time and energy into characters I didn't see again until they were too under leveled to be of any use.
We also didn't get to spend enough time with the new guys, as soon as I was finding my groove with the Dawn Brigade, they disappeared from the story. I think the returnee roster could've been cut in half, and slowly integrated with the new characters.
Still, like everyone else said, it was tons of fun to spend more time in that world. And the game was challenging in ways that reminded me fondly of the GBA games.
-
I couldn't care less for any hawk laguz that wasn't Tibarn.
-
One random Laguz I recall was a Cat one with an inexplicably modern military uniform in a fantasy world.
-

Lethe and Mordecai are very useful in the midgame stretch when they join, especially because the former starts off transformed (with 9 mov) and the latter has smite. Then Muarim gives you the demi band to have some more fun.
They're far worse in Radiant Dawn because they all start off with 0 gauge (so you need to waste turns with stones or weed), and good lord, the cats have it REALLY bad.

Kyza? -
I'm pretty sure this is a fan character, he doesn't look real at all
-
All the dragons ended up garbage as well. Kurth gets Formshift far too late.

Ayup. I was wondering "Sir, are you sure you're in the right franchise?".
-
I didn't know that Kyza had blue ears until today.
-
This post is deleted!
-
Kyza is way more interesting than the game gives it credit. Not only are they CANONICALLY romantically interested in Ranulf, but they were also given, in the 20th Anniversary Fire Emblem book, the title "The body of a man, but the heart of a woman?" So… They might be Fire Emblem's first transgender character? Perhaps?
It's just neat that Radiant Dawn just so non-chalantly adds stuff like that.

Tibaaaaaarn! Tibaaaaarn! Aaaaaaah!
-
I love death metal now.
Tibarn and Nailah should be op, would be nice if the third unit in their banner was Rafiel/Leanne/Reyson
-
I lose my shit if Nailah gets in before Ranulf.
-
I lose my shit if Nailah gets in before Ranulf.
Ranulf is most likely a mythical hero, with Caineghis as GHB.
-
I'm glad FEH is going through it's goth phase. this should be fun
-
Why would Ranulf be mythical? He is not special enough to be one.
-
GIVE ME RANULF! GIVE HIM TO ME NOOOOOOOOOW!
-
god if Nailah is voiced by who i hope she is, I'll just be over the moon like you wouldn't believe
-
Hold up. Are they bringing that Tellius Laguz Transformation bs?
-
Pros: Edge
Cons: Edge -
Eir, you shall be mine.

Damn, that's some serious Goth. They did their Norse research, considering how FUCKING FREAKY Hel is. Far too clown-like for my taste.
And we're finally getting beasts, woohoo! I'm happy to get a bird, but _where are my fucking rabbits?_
