It may be because im a musician, but i have high hopes for this serialization. hope it makes it, despite its niche audience appeal.
Been a while since I got excited about something new in jump

Like usual, your post is as insightful and profound as a squashed potato.
Regardless, this comic has a unique premise that doesn't seem to have a presence in Jump (I'm guessing "Music + Slice of Life") so it does have a chance in surviving depending on how well the author handles the concept of music and the whole heart reading ability in the coming chapters. Unfortunately this doesn't have the same flair and entertainment value as Soma (which is "Food + Slice of Life") which may be its closest competitor. It is still compelling and the art is functional for what it is trying to accomplish (pretty good, but I'm spoiled by Soma's art). Though, it is very interesting how the artist depicts how the heart is "entrapped" by music through imagery which is a good selling point for me. (However, I'm sure the main selling point is the two boy's relationship which will tide in the female demographic imo).
My concern is that this serie might get boring really quickly if it isn't handled well. The chapter wasn't particularly "exciting" or "captivating" but it was interesting per say due to the subject matter. I'll probably read a few more chapters before deciding whether it will get axed (though I have an odd feeling that this one will make it through).
This thing, in 1 chapter, managed to be more overdramatic than Death Note.
Couldn't take the premise seriously.
Hm now that I think about it, why isn't there an over top Toriko-esque manga about music? I'm surprised there isn't a shounen title that has a universe where characters blow each other up with various aspects/genres of music.
Haha I kind of adored this as a one shot. The visual metaphors for music were really cool. I only hope that, as it'll have to be episodic to explore the cast of the band that he'll conduct over I assume, that it stays as strong with individual stories.
Really pleased with it.

damn you'd think a dude with a heavyhanded cute dog posting gimmick wouldn't be so mean

I've been in a mean mood lately that has been pervading throughout the forum. It's weird.
Though yeah, the visual metaphors are pretty much the highlight of the comic so far and I assume will be a consistent motif throughout the serie (much like Soma's foodgasms). Though I am curious whether this serie will stick with strictly classical music as the focal point of music's effecaciousness in impacting the "heart" or whether they will also be exploring how other aspects of music (elements, style, genre, etc…) trigger different emotional responses from different people.
I wish the art was a bit more polished. But it wasn't too bad overall. I liked the visualization of the hearts though.
I really hope there's someone that makes Sarah Mclachlan style music that depresses people and they have to undo the damage.
concept seem very high and romantic(music to move your heart)….but unusual for a manga...very hard to determine how people will take it....
It will probably appeal to the female demographic pretty well. (I mean two handsome guys obsessed with music and people's hearts and emotions? Yeaaah I think I know who this author is trying to target).
Yeah been saying it was a massive fujoshi bait since the one shot
And the first chapter was almost completely identical to the one shot lol
Realize this is true for all series, but I want to wait a few chapters to see if the writer is capable or not.
With valiantt on the series. I can see the gimmick and characters getting old quick if the story is written poorly or repetitive, but I can also see myself overlooking possible repetitive aspects if the characters are likable enough. Plus the premise of a concert band interests me. The series reminded me of Nodame, if only because of the conductor, orchestra aspect.
Mangapanda… Hoped for a better group to pick up this manga. At least, they used the translation of a competent translator (lynxian).
I'm quite optimistic about this manga. I've seen the raw of the 2nd chapter, which seems interesting.
! The rest of the band doesn't seem as generic as what I feared when seeing the cover page of the first chapter.
