I'm going to try and get my roommate to watch this show. She avoided it cause she thought it was about Hannibal being a good guy. I think she didn't realize this was a prequel series.
Hannibal (NBC Series)

-
Yay! I was wondering when it would be coming back.
-
It returns tonight. Who is ready?
-
Was a pretty good episode
-
Is there a good place to watch it? Hulu doesn't have it. Not sure where I could watch it all legit and stuff.
-
Jesus Christ that opening scene was brutal
-
Oh! Good way to start a season! My favorite scene was the epic meal time! You know, the one with the ear.
-
There are no words for how much I love this show. The first two episodes of this season have been phenomenal. The brutality, the acting, the symbolism, the cinematography, all great. I'm really anxious to see when is Hannibal going to start slipping up. Will the opening fight scene from the first episode be in the finishing episodes or near to the middle, thus making the remaining episodes about discovering Hannibal? Argh, waiting for each new episode is killing me!!

I couldn't agree more, I especially love the decision to frame Will and the subtlety of how Hannibal's insanity is portrayed. His destruction of Will is never fully rationalised until he realises that he compulsively needed to place Will in place he couldn't escape, a place were he was in control, in short a bird cage. I also can't get over how good they make Hannibal's meals look, if I was at one of his dinner parties and he decided to fess up that he's feeding me human I'd still find it very hard to turn him down.
I seriously love this poster a brilliant twist on a classic image. I'm probably gonna end up printing this poster here as Hannibal is fast replacing Breaking Bad as my new fav TV show on the air. -

! HOLY FUCK THAT JUDGE
Man this show
-
This season so far was been really great, really intense. While I did enjoy the last season, I had issues with it, though I cannot entirely express what they were. Mads Mickelsen is really great as Hannibal, though do I wish he would articulate certain words better.
-
My biggest issue with last season was that they felt they had to cram in cases of the week to throw in some serial killer gore to hook audiences. Yet the cases themselves were rushed and poorly written like they were an afterthought which they were because the good stuff is clearly the main story-line. This season, they dispensed with that and focus mostly on Will and Lecter, there are still cases but they're stretched over two episodes to flesh them out more and aren't just quickly resolved in the last minute.
-
The suspens was not amazing this week. I mean Hanibal could not die so easily. That and the scene from the first episode has yet to happen.
But in the end I really enjoyed it. the theme of killing by "procuration" was very well used. -

About tonight's episode
! Jack is entrenched in the "Hannibal the Cannibal" camp with Will, though no there yet. Chiton however now knows that Hannibal is dangerous and is smartly showing himself as weak to get off of Hannibal's radar, which is unlikely because Hannibal gave him the wink of doom
! It's kind of sad to see Gideon go (Eddie Izzard has been excellent) but as Will said once he was kept close to Will his time was up. And he got the treatment Agent Krendler in the movie Hannibal got minus knowing Hannibal was serving him his own leg
! Finally, holy shit Miriam Lass is alive. Did not see that coming.Hannibal has clearly filled the void in my heart that Breaking Bad filled and in my opinion is the best show on TV next to Arrow and The Americans, which all together are killing it in their second season.
-
Having never seen, or read Hannibal before, I'm ignorant of most of possible future events, so I cannot comment on any of homages made. However -
How the hell did people turn into not-people!? This is so frustrating! Not that I expected them to catch him with just that, but learning how exactly did Hannibal counter the surprise move on Jack's part, would have been very nice.
!
Nothing makes me more happy than people slowly joining the "Hannibal the Cannibal" club -
I finally started watching this! I'm at episode 6 of the first season.
So far I've had mixed feelings about it. I really like it, but there are some aspects that bother me aswell. The best aspects of the show, imo, are: Mads Mikkelsen (and the other actors), the set design, the references, and the lighting & camera work.
Mads Mikkelsen is a really cool Hannibal. He's very intimidating; his posture, distinctive features, and then his deep voice with that accent just make every one of his appearances into an event. The fact that you know he's a cannibalistic serial killer, of course, adds to this. I also like that they "save" him a little; he doesn't get all that much screen time, especially not alone. He's almost like an unimportant side character, but the concept of his character gives him that ominous weight. Every time he's on screen, you're on your toes.
Then the set design and imagery are great too. The interior of Hannibal's house, holy shit. And that Shining lavatory. And everything's filmed in these forestlike, cabin-in-the-woods colours, which gives off a specific atmosphere. Add in a bunch of decoratively mutilated corpses, and you get a lovely horrific picture. What kind of bothers me, is the story arc and the pacing over the episodes. There's a different case almost every episode, but they're not connected? Are they connected to Hannibal? And there's a bunch of unsolved stuff that doesn't get mentioned anymore, like the Shrike copycat (was that Hannibal?). And why did they all of a sudden completely drop the Abigail Hobbs storyline???
And if Hannibal didn't commit any of those murders, then he must have murdered people by himself, because where does he keep getting his (implied) human meat? Does he have a big ol' freezer full of harvested organs? Where does he hide his bodies? So many questions. Though that makes me hope for an awesome reveal scene of Hannibal's secret stash of corpses.
These loose events with no real main story line make it kind of hard to stay into the story for me. I hope that changes soon. The episode I just saw, the one with Eddie Izzard, was promising in that aspect. Very heavy Silence of the Lambs references by the way.
And it ends with the first time we actually see Hannibal attack someone, so that should be interesting. Going to watch the next one now~ -
For a couple of episodes there the show reverted back to it's villain of the week thing, serving only as a means for Will and Hannibal, which wasn't as exciting as previous episodes, but still awesome, but holy crap the last three episodes have been tense, especially this one. Hugh Dancy and Mads Mikkelsen are doing a tremendous job.
I haven't seen the films, but I'd seen images of Oldman's Mason Verger, so I knew something will would happen, but man was that brutal.
And so glad the show got renewed.
-
Very glad the show got renewed for Season 3…my god that season finale was amazing!
-
The orchestral music in the last quarter or so that starts right after the screen goes black and then continues with Alana, was so good. Overall finale was awesome.
I am not all that familiar with the books but I do know how they end, and I do hope that the show deviates even more at one point. I want there to be a clearer ending or resolution than what is found in the books.

Aye. A cool arrangment of the Aria from Bach's Goldberg Variations, which crops up a few times in the show/movies.

Well with the books Thomas Harris clearly fell in love with Hannibal and as such tried to make him more sympathetic and somewhat righteous in his actions ( Harris having Clarice falling in love with Hannibal is mind numbingly idiotic). Bryan Fuller clearly sees Hannibal as Satan and has done everything to show the audience that and has succeeded in my opinion

Alana seems alive, doesn't she? Hannibal doesn't wack her on his way out and her she's still fidgeting. Very unsure on whether that fall can kill her, given that she's not dead already.

Hmm, went to youtube … that doesn't sound like the one. I do know the Aria one, and I've heard it plenty in the show, but that's not the one I'm refering to.
! The one I'm talking about is after Abigail pushes Alan through the windows. The screen goes dark and them immediately that cool melody starts that lasts till the end.
! That's the longest one I could find of the last scene. I guess the part at 4:04 is the best part.

From what I know, Red Dragon pretty much ends with Will getting disfigured. Then Hannibal escapes in Silence of the Lambs, and the next Hannibal novel is pretty much just ends with a happy ending for Hannibal. Not all stories have to end where the good guys win, but I do kind of want to see it here. I don't want the show to end with a happy ending for Hannibal only. I want him dead.
Given that Hannibal wasn't apprehended and is now on the run or whatnot, and Fuller used the "guy in a prison helps the FBI solve crimes" already, I hope the show veers into new territory. Hugh Dancy is awesome as Graham so I'd rather not have him replaced with Clarice.
-
That last episode was painfull! In a good way…
-
Insanely excited for this show to return this thursday . And it seems like that they will cover Red Dragon in this season .
-
I'm soooooo excited for this
-
My soul and my palate is ready.
-
I can hardly wait!!![emoji16] [emoji16]
-
Finally! The real Shokugeki!
I need to rewatch the last episode. So many deaths I can hardly remember who is still alive. -
Finally caught up with the season. Im so ready for more of the best show on TV!
-
Imagine one of your friend talking like Dimmond all the time
I feel you Hannibal. -
So did anyone else giggle at Will calling Hannibal 'nakama'?
-
Hannibal cancelled at NBC. Here's hoping another network or online service will pick it up.
-
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?!?!?!??? Some other network needs to renew this or else i am gonna be majorly disappointed .
-
BULLOCKS!!!!!
NBC with cancelling shows that are awesome…...even though the viewers weren't so many. -
I loved the last two seasons but honestly, the last three episodes have been going very slow. Top much focus on being artistic, rather than moving the plot along. The drop in ratings isnt that surprising.

Amazon would be great since they have streaming rights throughout most of the world.
-
Food or nakama, Luffy might have to make this choice at some point.
Also
! LONG LIVE MORPHEUS!!!
-
Dat music when they reconstruct Mason.
-
"GOOD AS NEEEEEEW!"
Those guys are way too tough. They are either Zoan users or passengers of the Oceanic flight 815.
Honestly I'm glad that they survived. I gotta say the special effects showing the injuries from inside where very impressive. -
This was some sweet as finale! Which is a shame too cause I thought the first half of this season was so so; a little too much focus on being artsy and clever.
! Now I'm curious. Did they film an alternative ending after finding out that Hannibal is being canceled or something? Or was this it all along? Cus Hannibal's dead, presumably.
! It's also very nice cus I don't have a longing for closure. There's no "what is there was a season 4" in my head.
