Okay so a while back KyoAni did a promo where some very hilariously moe boys drawn in their signature style, but with rockin' abs, are in a swim club

They went ahead and turned it into an actual anime which everybody saw coming

Prepare for extremely asexual athletic boys talking about food and never ever swimming

! Actually the promo looks like it might sincerely be about athletics and might be genuinely focused, unlike K-ON! which basically featured zero instrument playing

Also no Zachris allowed.

I still don't get the hype…is it because this is the first KyoAni anime centered on all boys stuff and targeted for girls? I mean other than that there are alot of other animes centered on pretty boys doing pretty boys things.

Also this series gives me a Prince of Tennis vibe and that makes me scared.

Other than enjoying the nerd rage over KyoAni making something presumably aimed at women, I don't know if I actually care about this

I'll watch the first episode and see if it's as boring as their usual stuff or charming enough for me to watch it to the end as a "when there's nothing else" program.

I really like the animation and that might be enough. The boys are hot. I guess that's basically the selling points anyways. And I sincerely love swimming so like I do want to give it a sincere try

The animation looks good and I could enjoy a slice-of-life anime about swiming but you can't shake the vibe that this was made purely to sell merch to teenage girls…
Guess I'll wait for a few reviews to see if it's worth checking out.

High School in Japan goes from 10th grade to 12th not from 8th grade through 12th like in America so yeah they look like they're 15/16 years old.

My favorite Final Fantasy, VI, had two female main characters: Terra Branford for Part 1 and Celes Chere for Part 2. They don't make games like that anymore, unfortunately.

Yeah I mean, every show has a target audience. I don't see how it's worth getting worked up over. Simply put, if you don't like it, just don't watch it. Besides, KyoAni have been pandering to the "fujoshi" audience since, what, Haruhi Suzumiya? Probably earlier than that.

But boy it was a lot more gay than I was expecting. Which is a huge plus or minus depending on the viewer.

Finally watched the episode and it was pretty good. The manservice was plentiful, fabulous and hilarious. The characters were okay, and the MC definitely seems like a love child between Oreki and Chitanda from Hyouka.

The biggest surprise for me was how good the music was in this episode. Already I just want to listen to the OST for this thing

I'm a big execution/presentation guy and I usually care about that more than the concept, so I enjoyed this quite a bit and out of all the new shows just starting, it's easily the best. I've watched Inu to Hasami wa Tsukaiyou, Senyuu 2, and Tamayura - More Aggressive other than this.

Those water transitions when going into another scene! Those lightning-fast clothes removals! That really odd ending song! The ending song was an interesting choice considering how dry the setting was. But I liked it overall, easily the best ending song so far.

I didn't see that coming, I was prepared for it to be a pretty silly show but it was a pretty cool setup.

I like all the characters too…

Feels like a standard shonen sports series with maybe a little more bromance and manservice. I know Kuroko and Prince of Tennis have their share for example, but only seen a little of sports series in general. Entertaining and well animated. Haruka takes the cake as far as characters go. "Gotta swim in ALL the pools"
