I thought the episode was aight. It didn't go by slow for me. Will hopefully mean next week will have a slightly better pacing. Gonna have to remember to bring the tissues for that episode - hopefully I'll cry due to Toei doing chapter 626 justice and not due to them butchering it.

The episode honestly wasn't awful like someone said above. Honestly, the pacing was fine and nothing was really stretched at all. It would be one thing if we got wasted filler scenes, but nothing really seemed to seem stretched. At the same time I want this flashback to end, so let's hope next episode finishes the job so we can move on.
oH no they left the Awesome Octopus Fishman Standing Next to Jinbe on Page 17 of Chapter 624 out, what are we gonna do without him? =(

I think Aohige/someone else here said that they actualy spelled that in english in the actual chapter, so it's accurate.
I agree with Chopperrules… for something that is less than a full chapter, I didn't feel this episode was 'stretched' or 'slow'. It had a lot of sensible content with relatively few panning-over-the-crowd shots. There have been episodes in this arc that, while they may have covered more manga material, felt far more agonizingly stretched out.
Although I do hope the next episode finishes the flashback. It's time for some old-fashioned strawhat chaos. 
why did they delay shirahoshi's reaction? in the manga it seems that the tenryuubito pulls a gun against otohime's head, jinbe goes "oh no, your majesty" followed by shirahoshi screaming and sea kings appearing…
however, in the episode they had him pull a gun, followed by everyone... including shirahoshi... staring at him for a while before she actually starts to scream...

are we to believe they were already there? or were we to believe they came from outside fishman island and entered through the bubbles really really fast (without anyone noticing) , the speed of them appearing makes no sense...
how did said sea kings react so fast to shirahoshi's scream? were they already lying in waiting, thinking "come on girl... start screaming already so we can do our thing and leave again"
The preview for the next one looks good, so this would probally be the first episode I'll watch in the long time.
Haha, forgot about the mole-man Tenryuubito and his weirdo son going to the island to get his slaves back. The Hannyabal voice was perfect for that adolescent, superior selfishness.
Even though it was less than a full chapter it rarely felt too padded or stretched and paced fairly well. The animation was better than the last episode, though there was some questionable art, mostly involving Vanderdekken in some scenes
I'm going to have nightmares from those two. Seriously, looking at them for more than 1 second is bad for my health. Ew…

Plot holes? If you look at the chapter where they're carrying away Noah, you can see some of the ones that were there when Otohime was in danger are almost half the size of all of Fishman Island. So having multiple of those pass through the bubbles like nothing is contrary to everything he himself set up. No to mention if you look inside Fishman Island, you'll notice the natural "ocean" half is tiny. There seems to be more land in there than water.
This wasn't the most thought-out arc Oda's done.

They managed to make Myosgard's father look like Jabba the Hut… Blergh. As usual, too many "mothers!!" and "Otohimes!!" for my taste (it works in the manga because you can't hear them and it's just tiny background noise, panel-wise), but in the anime it always rings in the ears.
But those are just minor complaints, I really enjoyed the episode and got teary-eyed. It's more the chapter that I enjoyed here than the episode itself, with all the converging ideals, but still I liked the direction 'n all that. Vander Decken brightens my day, he has such a classic cartoony vibe about him. So uh... 'bout that Strong World music. Hope we'll be seeing some of that in the coming episodes. There are so many tracks from there I'd like to be introduced regularly.
Yeah, I thought this was a perfectly good episode. Out of curiosity, has it been stated whether there's a new opening coming up soon? We Go has been around for right at nine months (Around 30 or so episodes), so I'm guessing the series will cycle to a new opening song soon.

I was under the impression that since "We Go!" is the spiritual successor to "We Are!" the would keep it around for at least the duration of the Fishman Island arc. They didn't replace the original song well until almost the end of East Blue.

We Go! has been the opening for just under 7 months, actually. Episode 517 aired on October 2. I would hope they keep using We Go! til sometime in autumn or until the next arc comes around. It's way too soon to bring in a new song imo.

those tenryubito really are nasty, every time I see one of them, I say to myself "good thing Luffy punched one of them", as has been said, the chapter didn't feel stretched, it had a good pace

You have to remember that there's a difference between you reading two panels within the span of three seconds and actually translating that to animation. Yes, I'm not defending Toei here as we all know they've dragged scenes like this into the water and back again in the past, but I felt the scene was handled just fine this episode.

It's just a joke playing on Engrish, and it had to have been in the manga. Although I believe Neptune did not end his sentences with jamon in the manga, so I could be wrong.

I liked this. Especially the build up to Shirahoshi's scream. Oda really knows how to make some extremely loathesome characters. As much as I like Otohime's perspective, and I do think she's right about not letting the next generation see such violence. But I feel so bad for the ex-slaves that didn't get to slash out against that asshat. I wouldn't have killed him…not right away anyways.

I agree with both parts of your post.
In that whole arc the FB is the best yet from the pacing + stuff (especially the part bout Tiger and this last episode).
Otohime's "the children r watching" really felt right and heavy, so did the kids' faces as well the ex-slave's. The chosen music also has fit well to it.
Also the pacing with the sea kings was ok.
About the size scaling of the sea kings I can just say:
Oda never has been that accurate with body-sizes and this whole scene was just about how the "creators" of the world begin to shiver+faint when the real world/sea leaders appear in front of them. It was just good.

I didn't know that Aladdin was a slave after all. In the manga I thought Arlong just said that to insult Aladdin. In the anime its more clear that Aladdin was a slave. Yet I thought it was just a suspicion of Arlong. Now I have to say that the Sun-mark did its job very well!
Arlong: "Sounds like you know what you're talking about, brother Aladdin! After all, one former slave should understand the feelings of another. What you really want is to kill her right here, right now, isn't it?! She's just the same as the people who enslaved you… a human!!"
He couldn't have made it any clearer than that. Either you read a different translation or you just didn't read the chapter thoroughly, because the manga made it perfectly clear that Aladdin was one of the slaves that Tiger liberated...
