You didn't beat Caesar yet? His arena's like, straight ahead from the entrance, I believe.
no I beat him, but now I'm stuck on the just-ice part of Punk Hazard.

I think you have to sleep at the inn to advance the story.
How to I get the rest of the specials (Elephant Gatling,Grizzly Magnum etc)Do I get them as I progress through the story?
The Coliseum mode makes me nostalgic for Grand Battle Rush!, which is still my favorite One Piece game. So far I'm enjoying this a lot more than the Pirate Warriors games, although I think it feels a bit less polished.
My only gripe is that the damn map isn't on the Wii U gamepad. Wtf were they thinking?
I'm loving this game, already finished the main story, it was short, but I really liked it. The Coliseum is pretty fun, this is probably one of my favorite if not favorite One Piece game to date, much better than Pirate Warrios, even though I only played the first one.
I love this game too ! Caracters and history are good. I LOVE IT !
I think my second-favorite character to play as after Sanji is Crocodile. His combos are slow but pretty strong with decent coverage. Nothing like laying the clawed sand blades down on some fools.
How long is the main story gameplay?
Been playing on/off mainly cause the latest content patch for FFXIV came out on the same day.
Finished Episode 3, so far from what I can tell they took the Unlimited Formula and made it more like Kingdom Hearts. 3 man party, Trans/Traverse Town, revisting known areas, RPG leveling up.
Neat.
I own it for the 3DS and PS3, and I have the Wii U DLC downloaded, but it won't install unless I install the main game.
The older games had way more depth and effort involved, but this game is fun. The graphics and fighting are improved. Not much else, though.
So you got Zoro and Franky back… when you slept at the inn, did you get that little cut scene with Red and people complaing about sand and it being hot?

Mm….I don't think so....
Are you sure rested and saved at the inn?
When you go towards the levels, do you get a second option labeled ???
Did you build the tavern?

oh son of a-
The ??? is a clickable option. Wow I feel stupid, got it now, thanks.
Huh, Ace's kinda over-powered. His Hurricane Kick Heat Haze combo is super-fast, Flame Commandment does lots of damage to downed foes, and Solar Emperor has a massive range.
I finally beat Doflamingo and Fujitora, Doglamingo was hard to beat though.
I'm not sure how to feel about how easy it is to slaughter bosses with Muggy Balls.
My thoughts on all the characters that I've played as so far:
! Luffy: As expected he's very well-rounded: decent speed, variety, power, and a nice balance of ground and air attacks. No matter what sort of situation you're in, he's equipped to handle it.
! Zoro: Another decent starter character, sort of like a slightly slower, tankier Luffy. Rengoku Onigiri and his cannon moves give him nice range, but his air game is practically nonexistent and I can't really get much use out of Kokujo Tatsumaki unless I've driven the enemy into a corner.
! Nami: Haven't really formed a solid opinion on her yet. She's definitely more of a set-up character than the others so she doesn't fare as well in a straight-up slug fest, but her speed and stealing ability are appreciated.
! Usopp: Definitely better versus mobs and boss fights where he has allies to distract the bosses with while he tries sniping them. I have a little trouble getting the hang of his sniper mode but his basic high rate of attack is nice. I do wish he had some more emergency close-range abilities like the Impact Dial or the hammer (instead of it being a counter) but it's a good thing his dodge ability covers a lot of ground (and is hilarious to boot).
! Sanji: My favorite character to play as so far. His play style is very fast and responsive, with excellent air game and ability to juggle enemies. His dodge is very nice for avoiding AOE attacks and being the only character to be able to deflect cannonballs other than Luffy is another plus. And he can heal teammates too!
! Chopper: Like Nami I haven't really used him enough to form a solid opinion, but his healing's nice.
! Robin: Awkward to use against single enemies, great at crowd control.
! Franky: As expected he's really slow and built like a brick shithouse. He's got power, but I wish he had more close-range options like Franky Boxing.
! Brook: Another character I have a tricky time with. He's more useful as a supporting teammate than as a main, and the only attack of his that I can land with any reliability is his downward swallow strike. It's nice that his dodge restores some SP, but it lasts way too long.
! Law: A decent character. I like how Shambles effects enemies in a radius so he can't be knocked out of his combo as easily as other characters can.
! Ace: Very powerful. Heat Haze is absurdly spammable and his super as a massive area of effect.
! Crocodile: He's pretty good in group battles with Barchan's and his Desert Spada's ranges and their variants but not as good at one-on-one boss fights since he's kind of a slow character. I still like using him though.
! Buggy: His rapid knife-throwing and dodging is pretty much all he has going for him. Whoever came up with those requirements for unlocking Shanks must've been trolling.
! Hancock: She's okay. Her petrification ability is nice if you can land it for the free hits. She's pretty annoying as a boss since it's practically impossible to interrupt Perfume Femur once it gets going.
Anyone know if there's a full list of unlock-able items?
I finally beat Doflamingo and Fujitora, Doglamingo was hard to beat though.
You totally spoiled that we fight DoFlamingo in this tournament. I had no idea.
Beat Alabasta and Enies Lobby….damn Lucci was a hard boss. At least I got the whole crew now.
Are there more customes than just the DLC?
All the tall characters are slow with Doflamingo being the exception.
Well just got back from vacation and glad to see that i can still get the day 1 bonus when i downloaded the game today.
Was nervous when realized i was on vacation when the game released.
Just found out about this game, and I ordered the day one PS3 version, of course though I won't be able to play it till I get back onshore in August, which sucks. How is the game overall? I know it's an action adventure game, and it sounds right up my alley being a One Piece fan. Really looking forward to playing as Franky.
There are essentially three modes in this. Tournament , story, and missions/quests. There's so many of each! It'll take a while. Transtown is confusing, though
So I bought the game for my 3ds. Play through the story and so far its not bad, really enjoying the battle system. To the people who bought the WiiU version how does the multiplayer work? Also in the 3ds what does the data link do?

You can use Data Link to transfer your Wii U save data to the 3DS or vice versa.
I've made it to the end of the Coliseum. Fujitora took me a few tries because his gravity well move has rather unpredictable placement, but man, Doflamingo. Five-Color String isn't too much of a problem once I realized that only the vertical slashes along the arena floor hurt you, but he just keeps murdering me with his super. I like how his aerial dodge animation was taken from when Oars Jr. tried to crush him during Marineford; I like looking for all the easter eggs and references like that in this game. His battle music pretty sweet too (so that's where this installment's over the top final boss chanting battle theme is!). Please tell me at some point you can build a place in Trans Town that has a soundtest function?

YOU CAN. There is a Venue you can make where you can listen to all the music you've heard from the game once you expand the island.

Yeah, on the second half of the town you can build a place where you can hear all the music of the game and also a movie theater (near the end of the main story) for the cutscenes

Red's super is even more annoying than Doflamingo's.You have some chances avoiding Doflamingo's but a battleship flying towards you just screams that you'll get destroyed.Same with Fuji's meteors.
I've actually found Fujitora's meteors easy to dodge. As soon as you see the shadow forming just keep running away from him and you'll be fine.
Hmm never noticed that.
For Doflamingo I usually stand behind him or under him since you can easily see in which way the strings will head.
Overall though the most difficult boss without a super for me is Kizaru. That son of a bitch is difficult to catch. It makes me sad though that he isn't playable because it would be tons of fun.
So I beat the Coliseum. The Doflamingo battle was pretty fun all things considered and I've still got a lot of stuff left to do in that mode. Played a little more in the main story and heh, I certainly didn't expect to see that Caribo cameo. On a less amusing front, screw Hody. Bastard never stays still and the only time you can really attack him is when he's using Sea Drum.
The random whitebeard fight had me totaled. Didn't expect that after Hody had nearly killed me.
Playing Whitebard is just fun.
Sending 20 enemies flying by just one attack is hugely satisfying. But i imagine it'll get pretty stale fast. Makes me wonder why he is playable and not characters like Kizaru, Mihawk or Kuzan.
Also he does not jump, he just stomps on the ground.
Does Smoker only appear in cutscenes?
What happened to that Triplane song heard from one of the trailers? Is it heard only in the Japanese version, the credits maybe? Real good game.
Has anyone been to Baratie yet? I beat story mode this morning but I never went to Baratie. Is it a New Game+ exclusive area?
Edit-Nevermind found it in the quests
Well started playing last night. Did like chapter 1 and then some battle colleseum. Luffy is super easy to use and kick but with, same with law, though not as cool of moves as was hoping. His moves just seem so small relative to the stuff we see him do in the manga. Feels like its pre time skip law.
Boa hancock i apparantly suck with. Took me a few time to beat Luffy in a one on one match with her. I did like how they made her arrows not stone luffy, though really gimps her in that case, lol. Maybe thats why i thought i sucked with her.
But haven't had a one piece game in a long time. Tey never come to the states, so its so fun just using people you know and their moves.
Found some time to sit and and have a decently long playthrough. Made it to A rank in Colliseum and did more of the main story. Blackbeard and Whitebeard are tanks, the fights are almost boring when they have that much health lol

I think they made him playable over the others because he had more moves already done, that didn't need lot of reworking, kizaru is specially lacking in that department, he have only 2 standard attack and a special move (just as kuzan) but only one could have been converted into something usable by the player (is finger-beam)
damn it, it seems I can't unlock more stages until I get more resources to develop/expand the island. Time to go farming….Alabasta and Enies Lobby, me thinks.
also when does Robin learn her reading skill?
Huh, Buggy's very well-suited to taking out Enel, provided you can dodge his giant fuck-off electricity blast. I also discovered that they actually made Zoro's bandanna a power up and can't stop laughing at that.
look like someone managed to hack the game and make some of the boss playable :
there's more on is channel
new DLC was just released…a Skypiea quest and Nami bikini costume.
Finally managed to expand town (mining is still annoying), and get to Drum. Holy hell, that boss. I mean I was trying to equalize their levels by putting in the weaker Straw Hats, and I died four times. Robin and Usopp dragged me down....swap in Nami and Franky, with some healing items, and Blackbeard becomes....still hard. Oh well, beat him.
Also got the venue!
Huh. If the game has the capability to play as them, I wonder if they'll release DLCs that'll make these folks playable.
Are there any DLCs out in the US store?
