Finally saw the movie. It was a good entertainment. Sanji was just baddass the whole movie. The fights were enjoyable and the interactions were good in my opinion.
But two things seems strange to me:
-The girl not thinking about melting the ice to help Z
-Z deciding to give up on destroying the end point.
On another it was hilirious seeing those drunk marines asking their superior if he was ok while he was imprisoned in Robin's arm.

Imo Z didn't really care about revenge, but he looked far more like a man of duty. After getting his students slaughtered he might have had a grudge against that shinikbukai, but more than that I think that he lose faith in Marines and hence choosed to to form Neo Marines. But for that, he really had no choice but to pick this only legitimate option he had for his limited resources - acquiring those things and destroying the NW along with all pirates inside, otherwise he woudn't really make any difference in the world if he just made a seperate branch of marines, which would be considered to be outcasts anyway.
Following that reasoning, I think that it's not suprising for him to not be too disappointed for his plan to fail, because it was a change from one kind of horrible end into a more peaceful kind of horrible end.
And of course, I don't think that his subordinates were hotheaded about this plan neither.
! greaaat movie ! especially the final battle with Z w/o audio and for a tough man like doberman crying for Z was golden too. awwww
although i hate how the protagonist always gets overwhelmed by the antagonist at the beginning. The ninja could've fallen for robin's devil fruit abilities too just like how franky fell for his and keep the element of surprise going and how funny it would have been if robin was straggling the ninja performing soru. ( keep the guy to grow the seeds for ussop!!! before solving global warming )

Well, it just got released this friday here in Germany/Austria. So since you're in spain I dunno how much you could do with it. ^.^ I just bought it at the next store selling DVDs.
The German voices were okay, but lacked impact. Bins & Ain sounded perfect, but Zephyr wasn't as good as the original. Borsalino & Sakazuki were voiced for the first time here as well. Kizaru's voice seemed fitting at first, but overall I thought he sounded a tad too old. And Akainu sounded just like some regular guy and not like the fierce & vicious Fleet Admiral that he is.
So overall okay, but not as enjoyable as with the original voices.
not a big news, but it could be interesting for the few people here living in japan: the advert at the end of the ep 627 said OP Film Z movie will air on TV (Fuji Network) the next 18th January, Saturday at 9h pm.

So finally bought the Blu Ray this week and watched it… Damn and I love it... OK in the german trans there seem to be some mistakes but nothing too bad and the movie in good quality is way better than some shitty streams.
Z as character is simply amazing... Love him... Even more at the end of the film and he really is a character, who I would have loved if he would have appeared in the canon manga... Aokiji was amazing as well. The fights of Sanji and Zoro were a bit short but I love Hells Memories and Sanji overall in this movie... Cuz of this off topic

"Naruto" is very popular in France, yes, but actually it was mentioned on a recent English NHK T.V. program (which there's a link to on this thread) that "One Piece" is the best-selling manga in France.
Oh c'mon I'm seriously tired of people bringing up 4Kids. Their treatment of the series definitely hurt its reputation and success here, but all things considered "One Piece" is doing pretty well in America. It's not huge, but it's among the most popular anime in American fandom.The DVDs are selling well, well enough that FUNimation acquired two more seasons of it before Season 4 is even close to finishing. It's one of the highest-rated shows on Neon Alley that isn't dub premieres. A Toei rep told me at Anime Expo that viewership has gone up. I definitely feel it's gaining on "Bleach" in popularity. I mean really the only thing that's holding back its full potential for success is that the FUNimation dub isn't on Toonami or Nicktoons or something.
Given FUNimation's history with theatrical releases, I'd be shocked if "Strong World" and "Film Z" don't get a limited theatrical release in America. And yes even a limited theatrical release is very good for an anime movie. "Evangelion", "Trigun Badlands Rumble", "Summer Wars", and "FMA Star of Milos" all came out in American theaters, and there's definitely more hype for the "One Piece" movies than those.

To be honest that post was made a while back and my opinions have changed slightly. I'm really not so sure about "Film Z" in theaters. I mean who knows, Aniplex and VIZ still do small theatrical runs, I haven't looked into them as of late though. But I've heard that FUNimation's theatrical runs haven't really made them much money.

I'm guess im just trying to be blindly hopeful because I'm trying to figure out a way how One Piece can expand into the minds from not just the anime community but the general public, its hard since nowadays anime has a stigma in public unlike the 90s and early 2000s, and it'd be nice if a miracle happened to suddenly implant the thoughts, "Hey, One Piece is a show, and its awesome" into peoples minds and not just being judged as that goofy pirate show lol, Toonami is a massive boost but Tv isn't as mainstream as it used to, im glad its still airing though, but im not sure how much of a boom is possible for One Piece with Tv alone, maybe I'm just underestimating the series and Toonami's fame in the states, they are doing well but we'll see what happens in 2014, I do certaintly see Water 7/Enies Lobby having a mini boom possibly this year in 2014 amoung the Toonami fans, but I'm curious on how much of the general public will turn there attention to it, I guess its just speculation until we see the results lol

It seems like a stretch since OP is only moderately popular in the States and we never aired a movie here at all before yet, but since it was aired in many countries recently and 2013, and its success in Japan wasn't that long ago either and they mentioned there interested in expanding the movie to the West, I figured maybe its not completely out of the park, but we'll see I wont mind either way as long as we get it eventually lol

It did in the States when FUNi first acquired the license. As I said it was a small theatrical run so I doubt it had much of an impact.

This really ins't anything new, One Piece may not be as bad as a lot thats out there but it has never been above fanservice
Film Z even has BROOK "fan service". It took me a while to notice it, but they did it. (spoiler tag in case anybody hasn't seen the movie yet)
! When everyone who was transformed into younger bodies reverts to their normal ages, they do the obvious fan service of Nami and Robin. Lots of focusing on breasts and hips and whatnot as they grow back to normal. Then they show Brook transforming back, and the camera stays focused on his ass for his entire bit until he stops glowing.
I damn near died laughing when I finally realized WHERE the camera was pointed on Brook during that scene. It was just so random, and I love every second of it. They need to do a lot more of it, honestly.
I just hope the special eventually gets translated into English. Would love to hear the English take on Glorious Island.

Just finished the movie, and I have to say I'm impressed. It was certainly not perfect, but still amazing, one of the best OP movies for sure.
I had a question though: the grave where Z and Kuzan first meet….whose is it? His wife and child?

Weevil, Law is not old enough to be the one who cut his hand back then
Weevil lines up pretty well, especially with the detail that he pleaded for mercy because he had a family (which we now know would be his controlling mother). I doubt it'll be referenced in the actual manga, though.
Yeah, going extra mile to introduce a deceased character from a movie 5+ years ago would be weird. Though some vague reference of him facing former admiral once I could see.
