LOL you'd think that after patching the game about 8 times most of it's problems would be fixed. Though seriously I think some of those issues might be unique to your copy of the game worse I had in mine was the game crashing on two separate occasions.

I played all the way through the game on PS4 and did a ton of extra stuff and I never experienced any of that except a handful of crashes to the main menu. Maybe one every 30-40 hours or so. I did get myself stuck on a rock once somehow and was forced to reload, but it was quite literally only once.
-
Kind of sad that right now we're talking about games crashing on consoles.

Plymouth rock didn't land on you, you landed on plymouth rock:ninja:.

What's good for the PC crowd is good for us too I suppose.
-
I hope news about the season pass content comes out soon. I want more witcher 3 content so bad.

I've played the pc version probably 150 hours and never once crashed. Experienced maybe 2 bugs, that were totally ignorable.

New big content will hit October 13. The Hearts of Stone expansion.
First time in a while that I'm stoked about additional content. I usually ignore that stuff although it might look interesting to me.But I feel pretty safe about getting this.
-
I just wish they would give us a damn clear response on what we can mod. Getting tired of Marcin Momot's corporate PR double-talk and backflips. In fairness I doubt he say more than he could currently (restrictions or lack of knowledge) but it's so annoying.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Otherwise, their expansion pack scheme works pretty well. It certainly won my trust along with their free DLC scheme. Kinda helps that I'm used to old expansion packs from RTS days.
Though I wish they spent that effort on redkit rather than meaningless DLC, even if the gesture is appreciated.
-
So anyone excited about Hearts of Stone DLC? It has got good reviews and ratings for a DLC. Also, the latest patch is worth 7.6gb on PC and 15gb on PS4. Those patch notes are 13 pages long..like damn!

Good lord .

I am very excited. It looks amazing, like waiting for a mini-sequel to the wild hunt.
Plus I hear shani is amazing.
-
Shani's in the DLC? Haven't even played 3 but I liked Shani a lot in the first game.

Played 1 hour and I gotta say this expansion is hard…. Jeeez I mean sure I'm on deathmarch(34 haven't gotten to NG+ yet so I'm still on my finished first save) and it's suppsed to be hard but I just remember being so overpowered through my build that I was a bit surprised.

Good to hear. Even on DeathMarch I wasn't having any trouble from Novigrad on.
Also, since I haven't been on here lately, I'd just like to say I LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH.

After some more time with it, I have to say it might be because of my build it's very melee focused and the difficulty came from enemies just being way more defensive and blocking a ton or things like spider just being annoying and keeping their distance(I don't want to call it better AI it just feels more annoying right now xD).
It's been somewhat tough closing in without getting staggered, the only way I found to prevail was divide and conquer. Groups of 3+(sometimes even 3 is enough) usually end with me reloading.
The possibility is there that sign builds might still have an super easy time.
Also no spoilers or anything but I had my first quest again that made me stop and think really hard before deciding anything and now I think I'm regretting my decision. God missed that! This game… :D
Just the name of the quest:! Quest name was Without a Trace.
Edit: Also welcome back :P

Well beat the expansion's main quest and a few sides in merely 7 hours… seems a bit short... not too bad of a storyline, about equal writing quality to the vanilla game, I think.
Death march is feeling cheap, even at level 70 with maxed legendary mastercrafted felis armor, you die in 3-5 hits to common town guards (level 63) in quests. Meanwhile, you take 10 or more hits to kill them, each. And then for some reason spiders do way less damage even at the same level?
Not that it's undoable or anything, but it just feels like you're hacking a zombie swarm. Tedious as hell.

Had an issue with difficulty too, played first playthrough as Normal and and was extremely easy with just button smashing and no potions or even signs needed. I recently continued my second play through with Blood and Broken Bones difficulty for some challenge and tactical gameplay and I was at level 15-16 at Novigrad and I was really having trouble with fights even against level 10 thugs.
Then I noticed that I had been playing Death March almost from the begin… and I kinda like it. Sure its unfair and Geralt is fragile as hell and gray level enemies can two shot you but hell if it won't demand every advantage and every trick you have to survive...
I have Sign/alchemy build for mandatory Quen healing and iqni armor penetration/flamethrower. Potions and oils must be applied before and during fight, bombs are very powerful and Yrden traps give some breather. Aard knockback/coup de crace kills are best way to kill humanoids and Axii stuns and powerstriking from behind are main way to kill single enemies with ease.
Death March can sure be frustrating and sudden death looms after every corner, saving often is a must and refreshing potions/bombs is a mandatory.
Alchemy and Signs are powerful and I can't decide to invest what tree to invest and what skills to activate.
-
I'd be happier if enemies didn't act as zombie bullet sponges.
It gets pretty annoying when your maxed level 70 gear cannot tank/deal even half what the level 63 common guards to do. It feels unfair and lazy from the gameplay prespective, and is quite immersion breaking. I expect Geralt to have better stats 1v1 any common guard, never mind that you're usually facing 3-15 of them. There are ways to add a challenge, but this is not one of the good ones. It's not hard per se, I will beat al fights on death march within the first few tries, but when you feel like you're taking too much damage and you're facing zombies, you lose a lot of motivation to play (especially as it gets tedious, not hard).
I'd have been fine with Death March if you dealt at least equal damage to what you're taking. But even crits hit for less than they hit for normally.
Or I've just been spoiled by Dark Souls too much.
On a happier note, I like the new characters from the Middle Eastern setting.
Also a note on one of the bosses.
! the undertaker, who the heck gave him 100% lifesteal?
! There are reasons why bosses should never be given strong heals, it just drags the game into an attribution war more than anything else.
! Took 8 minutes of fighting because he kept healing. I didn't even die, just all that heal made him take forever. Deathmarch damage makes him heal for like 1/10 of his max hp per hit, and he has a very good attack animation to boot (though predictable), not to mention unblockable attacks and plenty of dangerous moves.
! And also an ability to summon ghosts which he can lifesteal off, that is triggered at around ~40% hp.
! Also, as per witcher 2, quen is broken for this fight. -
Finished the DLC which I got for 8 bucks super happy with it. Got a solid 15 hours out of it doing absolutely everything. As far as DLC price/content goes it's definitely on the top of my list. That said its competition is like abysmal.
My favorite thing in it are the glasses. Wore them all the way to the end. -
Played through the expansion (finally) and I liked it. Some things could've been better though.

The Witcher 3 is Game Of The Year and Best roleplaying game and CD Projekt Red is best developer.

Silly question but did you update it?

Silly question but did you update it?
First thing I did was check to see if there was a way to fix it, saw that there was a patch, and let it run.
It didn't do much, it just made the font slightly bolder. Inventory and notes are the only place its really noticeable. Not much they can do universally without a shitload of work due to spacing issues. Subtitles and huds and various other things are still pretty much the same.
Game was meant for PC players playing it from a foot away, or those with 55 inch+ screens. Was not meant for couch gaming at all.
It's legible if I sit right next to the screen but yeesh.

I just recently got the game on PS4 too and have been playing it on my 40 inch tv and i didn't notice any font problem.
-
and have been playing it on my 40 inch tv and i didn't notice any font problem.
So your tv is a good foot bigger than mine. Makes a difference.
-
I remember having the same issue playing Dead Space on PS3 when it came out. Shouldn't be an issue with it somehow being designed to be played on a monitor close to you. Is your TV 1080p? The size might be the issue as you said above but if it's not 1080p that could be another issue.
-
The tv quality is fine, it's a new tv, the text is just small and meant for you to play right up against the screen, sitting right in front of it, rather than a couple feet away. My PS4 placement is not set up for that comfortably. I have to change rooms or put a chair in the middle of the the bedroom. I had no such problems with Dragon Age which also has small, but not as small a text size.
Most games you should be able to play from a whopping eight feet away within the range of the wireless controll.
-
I can see how that would be a problem for people used to splaying themselves on a couch. I personally just sit down in front of the TV I play off of.
-
Just completed the main quest….
! So I got the worst ending in the game.
Onwards to Hearts of Stone.

Here's the teaser for Blood and Wine
-
I may be a bit late to the party but recently I too picked up The Witcher 3. The thing is, I'm more or less stuck at the moment (I doubt the following would count as a spoiler to anyone since I'm level 8 only but I'll still hide it):
! In Oxenfurt I walked into some kind of pub/noble house which was empty but I could pass through the doors nonetheless. The weird thing is I more or less phased through the doors without literally opening them…
Anyway, I kept walking down some stairs and got into some kind of basement/vault which had a bunch of books in its first area. Then I kept going and found some sort of hole in the ground (falling down that hole results in instant death even though it's only about 6-7 feet high). I did however manage to sneak around it by tip-toeing around the edge.
The next area I got to was filled to the brim with all kinds of valuable treasures(ie. loot) and a number of golden statues. Naturally I picked up whatever I could get my hands on and then started looking for an exit.
Said exit was shown in the map (ie. a clear path I am supposed to follow) but it's blocked by a wall. And there's seemingly no way around it... So what did I try doing?
! 1. Used my Witcher senses on the area, hoping to see something red pop up. Didn't happen.
2. Tried using my green lantern thingy, wondering if the wall might be an illusion. It wasn't.
3. Jumped head-on into the hole mentioned earlier. Died miserably.
4. Tracked back to the entrance, harboring the faintest of hopes. Doors I came/phased through were locked (both).
! As you can see, I'm running out of options that aren't loading an older save (as I would quite like to keep the loot). And I'm more and more pissed at myself for being so darn curious and walking into that pub/inn...Please help? -

The game has no potion for teleportation or reset. If the house had loot then you entering it wasn't a "bug", and then there must be some exit - unless the exit itself is buggy.

Upon doing some more research I found out it was apparently the vault related to some quest of the first expansion. And seeing how I wasn't playing the quest (lvl 8) I got somewhere I wasn't supposed to be and the game let me know that. Loaded an older save and moved on. Still thanks for the input, mate.
