@Aaronrules380:
Fair enough about it needing more time, but that isn't really a reasonable request because you'd need to push another completely unrelated show out of the way to make time for that. Honestly, I can understand what you're saying, but given what there was to work with I think they did a really good job. And I still don't get the issue with GOku going SSJ3, Because it drained energy from guys who were technically on par with or in the case of gohan, technically stronger than, Goku, even as a ssj3. Really, a bigger issue is that it managed to drain Gohan right away, but sometimes I can accept a bit of plot convenience, especially in this type of crossover.
@Louis-1988:
You guys need to give Gohan a break, he was in base when he got caught. Base Gohan does not have speed or reactions to outstrip SSJ3 Goku.
Chopper, I respect your opinion about the special being of poor quality even though I disagree with you, so I'm not going to harp on that.
I can't ignore this excerpt, though. It's riddled with fallacious reasoning. To put it in laymans terms this is your argument in a nutshell:
1. Luffy defeated the Kraken with one shot.
2. This monster was of similar stature.
3. Luffy should be able to defeat all monsters of similar stature in one blow or with Haki.
You read One Piece, you should know better than most that size has very little meaning when it comes to power. If we extend credence to your faulty logic and see it through to its end then we need to assume by association that Luffy can tame with Haki or one shot the following creatures; 100% Kyuubi, Juubi, Four Beast Limbs, the Four Beast Main Body. I assure you that he can't. Seeing how this "Glutton of the Sea" absorbed energy from Usopp, Mr.Satan, Franky Sanji, Sunny, Gohan, Gotenks**,** and Piccolo it doesn't surprise me in the least how significant a threat it was to Goku, let alone Luffy, the weakest amongst the trio. In fact, Luffy and Toriko by all accounts should be dead. Luffy one shotting such a creature would have been terrible writing even by lolfiller standards.
All right, let's just agree to this. For one thing, I may have gotten too heated with my remark. I wasn't beint entirely serious with the "go suck a mushroom" remark, hence why I chose that word, but it probably came across as too much.
I see your points, and I'll have to give the special a rewatch with subtitles so I can catch any important facts I may have missed. I'll make another post after a second rewatch to see what I think after I've processed your opinions.
@warismydestiny:
Here are the filler episodes for when you start watching so you can skip them
DragonBall
Episodes 29-33,42,44-45,79-83,115-116,127-132,149-153
DragonBallZ
Episodes 9-17,20,39-43,44(first half is filler)102,108-117,124-125,170-171,174,195-204,288
@Galaxy:
Or he can just watch Kai, and then skip Buu filler.
@Yuugi's:
Or he can watch all of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z and experience good episodes not based on the comic's storyline, with those that do adapt from the comic being well done.
Or just read the comic. Toriyama's battle scenes are superb.
@goty:
True that. I know Namek can get painful sometimes, but the Androids and Buu arcs had many filler moments i've enjoyed.
I usually end up watching filler, to be honest. Though for Dragon Ball Z I'll be watching Kai to see a newer, better done dub from FUNimation. I hear the original dub was not as good as far as translation goes from Demon Rin and a few others I've talked to over the past couple years about the series on here.
I'll make note of the filler episodes though in case I run into something that's pretty bad. But I did actually go through some of the worst One Piece filler arcs and survived during my first run. I can get a bit OCD about watching things through entirely on my first run and then deciding what I'd skip on my rewatch. Yes, even the Apis Arc which bored me to tears during the middle of it, lol.
As far as the manga goes, I'm actually getting a bit of exposure to it through Weekly Shonen Jump. They're releasing chapters of Dragon Ball Z through colored scans. Though I've only seen a few chapters and I can't quite judge the series yet.
I think I asked this once on here, but I lost the notes I took over a year or so ago. As far as movies go, is there any worth checking out?
